Thank you. You have been a great help for me. I am due to have a prostatectomy this coming Friday January 12 2024 here in New Zealand. Treating the whole thing as a new adventure in my life.

I'll mention one odd thing about my recovery.
My surgery was in September of 2014. Not unexpectedly, I was incontinent for awhile. I was wearing adult diapers...which I joked about (no reason for embarrassment). Much to my dismay, the incontinence dragged on for months. I had hoped it would end in a week or two. But even FOUR MONTHS later I had little to no bladder control. I figured I was probably incontinent for life.
Then, one day in January, I was SUDDENLY able to hold a substantial amount of urine in my bladder and expel it normally. By the next day, I had almost full bladder control and I no longer needed the diapers.
How strange. I did not regain function gradually.. After months of no bladder control, I suddenly regained control in about 36 hours. Just shows that all recoveries are different and never give up hope.

Thanks dex for comment. I've been very lucky to be honest. I've had no problems all bar a few little infections. No leakage issues. When I need to go I NEED TO GO is my only problem. Cheers for the comment mate

Hi Neil, I watched a few of your videos tonight, very informative thankyou. I will be 72 in a couple of months and had my prostatectomy 4 weeks ago today (2nd Feb 24) All seems to be going well ie no pain and minimal leakage . I can only put that down to being obsessed with fitness ie weight training and walking, cant wait to get back to it. Thanks again , take care , ken Leeds

Thx for commenting Michael, I'm the same mate. Believe me it's my number 1 tip. Having the catheter reinserted wasn't pleasant. Please try to drink drink and drink. It's for a week and it will flush through all the particles from the bladder etc. It's a major operation and there's a lot of rubbish still within that's needs to come out. I wish I would've listened to others and keep drinking. All the best mate with ya surgery. Stay strong bud

Hi there colin, thanks for watching my videos. I'm 53 and the surgeon could only save 2 put Of the 5 on 1 side. My incontinence only lasted a month, catheter was for 2 weeks, then a couple of infections which soon cleared up, so was back to normal after 4 to 5 weeks bit I Think my age was on my side. The little man downstairs is still asleep. I tried viagara silnadefil etc but nothing works yet. Time is a healer. I'm not pushing it. Hope everything goes OK ina couple of days time mate. Please keep in touch. Remember drink drink drink, I hate water but please believe me it will work.

My father passed away from prostate cancer at the age of 58 back in 2007 after 5 years of dealing with this disease..he was strong all the way through it right up to the point that the rotten doctors gave him medication to lower his testosterone thinking that testosterone stimulated cancer growth (wrong, not true)...anyways my dad died 3 months later weak ,shriveled up and the cancer grew like wild fire when it didnt before the meds...so my advise to you if you are on ANY medication to lower testosterone...stop immediately...just my advise through experience
