    Excellent video!
    I just bought this compressor today, and for the life of me, couldnt figure how to turn the regulator knobs... assuming they were just stiff from sitting on the shop shelf for a while, I was *about* to get out a wrench - luckily, I had a moment of clarity, and opted to search for the Power Jet Pro here on youtube.
    Your review saved me from a very costly, and very embarrassing, repair. I cant thank you enough. :)

    Thanks for a great review, it answered many questions I had in my search for a compressor to buy. I had independently come to the conclusion that the Power Jet Pro would best serve my needs and, with the ability to use two airbrushes and your comment about using two different pressures for each, I decided that this would be the one for me. One thing that might be a problem is that it looks like only gravity fed airbrushes would fit the holders and not siphon feed types. Thanks again!

    That is one thing I am going to do with this. As soon as I can get my garage set up again, I am going to take a piece of 1x6 and drill some holes to hold the paints.

    thank you for the video, it helped a lot in deciding what compressor to get. pretty honest review, straight from the consumer and that's what i needed to hear. i like that the compressor takes a while to kick in. just have to get used to the timing.

    lol..... I bought this little baby about 3 years ago and only used it for spray painting. I've never actually known how to use it and still pretty much don't ..don't but man, I have LOVED these wee clips... TOTALLY had me in stitches.... I love this guy... you're are hilarious and brilliant to watch. Keep up the great work :)))))

    Could not help but laugh when you spilled the ink! I hope you do not get in trouble! The compressor looks like a great one and thanks for the review!

    Learnt recently you want to empty the tank of moisture regularly if you use it a lot. Otherwise you can end up with a rusty tank that needs replacing.

    Nice setup. Good to see those space hippies joined the Federation, says the old guy watching this video in his Grateful Dead hangout shirt. I fumble so much I've taken to putting the paint jars I'm using into a shallow Tupperware type thingie till I finish using them.

  • @badgrendels
    @badgrendels  Před 12 lety

    Yeah it had to be the black, got almost all of it out of the carpet however. Just a faint outline around where the spill was now...

  • @badgrendels
    @badgrendels  Před 11 lety

    I never tried a siphon feed. Didn't think about that at the time. I do have two different siphon feeds and only one of them will fit in the built in holders. So it depends upon the airbrush if it will fit.

  • @badgrendels
    @badgrendels  Před 12 lety

    I just went and checked, this one doesn't really have a drain plug. But it does have a pressure fitting on the tank so I can release the pressure or hook up a hose as needed.

  • @DaBasementModeler
    @DaBasementModeler Před 12 lety

    Nice review and good save on the carpet. I did the same thing but with model master enamel flat black. Had to change the carpet then got sent to da basement after that.

  • @badgrendels
    @badgrendels  Před 11 lety

    I am not sure why the power jet has a larger tank or is more expensive. This model was designed for professional use for two people. Hence the two hook ups. I did a three hour session last night with a mixture of both acrylic paints and lacquer paints. The compressor worked just fine and didn't overheat at all. Again this compressor is for commercial use, so it will be fine running for the whole day.

    Then a good basic air brush will work. I have two of them that I like for general work: The badger 105 patriot, and the Paschee VL

    I going with that iwata compressor too, the only issue now is trying to figure out what air brush I want. I need some to spray parts, not really looking for something for fine details.

    Hm... seeing that wig reminds me that I have some videos to sort out from my Swedish trip.. I filmed at some of the old battlegrounds of the many Danish-Swedish wars that took part in the area where I grew up, but some 500 years ago.. so well before my time! But the wig is typical of the era... :) Will catch up on your videos later... :)

    Before I saw the uniform I though you were dressed in the Georgian era outfit, especily the grey wig. Images of of the enterprise with Isac Newton or Gauss as the science officers, spring to mind. Probably captained by William of Orange. Good review of the compressor. Appart from compactness I cant see any other advatages to the square tank.

  • @badgrendels
    @badgrendels  Před 11 lety

    Your welcome. To be honest, it took me a while to figure it out too. Then I told myself this. It can't be hard, and it should not take a lot of force to do this and started to fiddle with it.

  • @badgrendels
    @badgrendels  Před 12 lety

    I was very surprised to see that square tank. And I think that the only reason for it is to make the compressor more compact. No other reason. A square tank will drive up the cost due to the strength of the materials required for the rectangular tank.

    Hi, grate review. I was wondering if Iwata Power Jet is better then the PRO? It dose have a bigger tank. From what i can tell it has the same motor. I do work with acrylic paints and not ink's and i would amagin the brush would have to work a bit extra hard. Im planing on using it for about 3 hour sesions. Do you know any other difference why it would be like 100 dollars more then the PRO other then bigger tank?

      Yes. I have run it for gours on end with no overheating. Plus with the second port i leave the air pressure at a max. That way i can blow dust off of the model befoe i paint

      badgrendels I've just got mine, and was a bit upset to read you're only supposed to run it for an hour each time. I was used to day long airbrush sessions. Is your one still tip top?

    • @badgrendels
      @badgrendels  Před 9 lety

      ***** I didn't read that, and if I had, I don't know if I would have bought this. I have run it for three or four hours at a time with no issues. It is still running in top condition.

    • @rob16248
      @rob16248 Před 9 lety

      badgrendels I'll probably switch it off after an hour or two, and let it cool down for 10 min's, if I remember. At least I feel happier now about accidently leaving it on for longer.
      Thanks for getting back to me with that, badgrendels.

    • @badgrendels
      @badgrendels  Před 9 lety +1

      ***** I think it is the dual outputs. The one I have has two different outputs so two people can work at the same time. I don't really use that much. I mainly use the second output for blowing dust off of my work pieces...

    I have just bought a used one of these for a great price but it came with no hoses or adapters I have a harder and steenbeck evolution could you tell me what adapters or hose I would need please? any information would be great

    • @johnforsyth7194
      @johnforsyth7194 Před 7 lety

      If it still has the quick release on the compressor any hose with the proper size quick release will work. I think it is 1/4 in size.
      For your air brush you will need a specific quick release adapter, air brush depot should sell those. If not, just try a google search for harder and steenbeck adapter, you will find one.

    I have this compressor. I got it a while ago. I dont remember there being 2 coiled hoses.... at some point i ditched the coiled hose and went to a longer braided hose. any way, i want to run a second airbrush on it.... and now i dont know what to do about the quick disconnect input. i need to get some sort of adapter for the hose ... so i can plug the hose into the compressor.... im having the hardest time finding what the hell the name of the part is. Also, ive seen videos on here (during my quest for the part) and people were saying you need to change the air filters. Nowhere online can I find the air filters for the compressor. I knoooow I totally have to because of the conditions ive been airbrushing in. Know anywhere I could find that too? Thanks a lot.

      I have found parts for my airbrushes in two locations. TCPglobal and Amazon. But if I am having trouble, I have contacted a friend of mine named Scott who owns a hobby shop, he found what I needed and shipped it to me pretty fast, he owns elm city hobbies, it is in Canada, but he lives on the border and will cross the border to ship items. You might pay a bit more from him, but you will get what you need without searching all day long.
