Thanks a lot. I got as far as removing the bearing unit but was afraid to start hammering in case I’d break something. Seeing you do it, I knew they should come apart and got it off with a bit of heat and a bit of hammering.
Nice video. The only man I could find doing this. I need to do this all around. Dublin here and Astra VVT1.6 113hp here, good car cheap parts and a good learning curve.
I’ve just taken the wheel hubs off my Vauxhall combo, I just need a bigger hammer to separate the hub to fit the new dust shields. Thanks for sharing the information.
Thanks for this, I got as far as taking off the 4 bolts to remove the hub and started to doubt myself as I could see how the back plate would split from the hub itself. Nice to see all I need to do is give it some hits with a hammer :)
nice vid......but just undo 4 bolts behind wheel hub, then sensor comes through hole, and is easier to disconnect, also just take off caliper carrier bolts, whole thing comes off, without having to split carrier, caliper, etc.
Excellent video my man! What time of night was it when you finished both sides? This is the kind of job I always used to do myself, but now I'm 67 I can't bend my left knee so much, so it's a job for my local garage guys. I trust them completely, and just a few weeks ago they told me my rear brakes did not need replacing even though I handed them discs and pads for the job. So I'm buying a pair of dust shields, and they can do it for me. 😁
Great tutorial! I've just replaced the ones on my van but when I went to drive it for the first time I got an ABS and traction control light. Did anyone else have this issue?
Really helpful, amazing how they rot away and I can see why someone hasn't bothered replacing one on mine. Thanks.

Very good, only thing I'd do different is torque the bolts nuts up to manufactures standards.

Thanks. This car is sold as the Saturn Astra here in America
Great video thanks , just wondering from start to finish how long did the job take?
Hi, sorry for late reply, max 2h depends rust condition
Thanks for your reply,
Sir. I would like to try this job myself. After you disconnected the ABS sensor did a warning light show on the dash after you finished the job??
Nice job How about the fronts? I need to replace all 4 on mine
similar job, remove wheeel, brake caliper, brake discs, and replace dust cover
I need to get replacements for mine but I don’t know how many I need, are they on all 4 wheels ?
Hi, yes 4 wheels = 4 Dust cowers , you have to check it.
I need to change mine but watching that video, it's too much of a faff! Prob go to a garage but hopefully not expensive. 😮
Any video tow bar
liam mc cann hi, no we don't have , sorry :(
Why not just start with carrier bolts and use a 13mm. You took the caliper off for no reason lol 🤣
Try to be more constructive. You're needlessly knocking a cracking upload. This chap's a Saint amongst Men.
