A retired ER nurse. A crude but self-explanatory phrase used is, " The patient isn't dead until they are warm and dead." My grandson fell into a mostly frozen pool at the babysitters. Under close to 5 min, it took 2 hours of cpr, warming and cheering him on to finally get a pulse.
That's GREAT information to know! 🎯 So wonderful that your precious grandson survived.

He might have gotten out of a fence or escaped a car because he was frightened. It doesn't always have to be abandonment, and they have no evidence that he was abandoned. I also feel anger when I realize that an animal has been abandoned, but I won't assume it until it's proven.

Most people are good people.
This is very common for people who have suffered abuse at the hands of humans, the ones who are supposed to love and care about you. My dog rescued me when I was nine.

I used to have a box full of blankets with a hair dryer inside of it for when sheep would reject lambs and if they survived they would become bottle fed. We had an enclosure down in the basement made of old doors bolted together
It would be our job to get up every few hours to feed them throughout the night while my parents slept for work.
When they were lambing I missed a lot of school for a few weeks but still got decent grades
I don't have any kids now LOL

The bandage on his tail in the second half is such a beautiful thing. Most of the dogs that I see with wrapped tails, they've injured themselves wagging too hard. Based on just the short pieces I've seen, Horton is another victim to happy tail syndrome, and I'm so happy for him.
Couldn't even imagine what he must have been feeling while out there freezing to death, much less how he felt when he woke up to warmth and love 😭😭

That’s how I love my babies. My lab pit mix loves carrots. If I take one of her carrots, even when she has one, she’ll give me a look and she ends up with both carrots.
I put a dual heated blanket on the bed so they wouldn’t get cold. They take up 95% of the full bed and there’s my dog & 2 cats.
I pretend to run things and I’m perfectly happy in my delusion.
I’m in tears. I just want to hold him and not let go ❤

It never ceases to amaze me when rescued dogs are exhausted to the point of death but they can still find energy to eat. It's like their bodies know to direct that last ounce of effort into digestion in order to make sure they'll survive.

This struck my heart strings. Years ago, back , I had the honor to have had a pit named Blue. We named him Blue because his eyes were the shades of the sky and ocean storms.
He was about 7 weeks and towards 2006,I had to leave him to my then ex husband since I was moving to WA.
All and all, he was one of the most gentlest and kind hearted and sweetest doggie ever!
Blue was a big boy but pits are very gentle and loyal as well as kind to their human families.
He'd sleep with me and never ever posed hurt or harm and danger as with all news with how they portrayed pits on social media or the news.
Aww, poor baby only weighed 30 lbs??? Nevertheless, grateful that he got rescued and didn't freeze to death from neglect and starvation.
Hopefully he will be adopted into a loving home and lives happily after.
