Who has not heard of this game at this point ? Been waiting since day one , first ever trailer they dropped , one of my most anticipated games amongst a few others ! Totally gonna 100% it !

I am most interested in how they'll deal with wukong as a character, is he going to go the Dark souls character route with no real voicelines or characterization or will he have a more set in stone deal like Sekiro or maybe even have his own voicelines and character? I am super excited to see where he goes.
I personally think that it will go the Dark Souls character route. I think you will be some nameless monkey that somehow gets or finds the artifacts of the legendary monkey king.
I would hope he gets voice lines. One of Wukongs most notorious traits is his playful, prankster nature. I guess I never read Journey to the West, so I have no idea whether he spoke in that book, or whether he just giggled or laughed while sowing chaos.
I dont know why you all think its going to be a soulslike? the Devs have already said while the game appears as a soulslike it takes far more combat from God of War and the only aspect they are taking from soulslike is the stylistic way you approach a boss fight, but will be more like GOW difficulty and traversal.
I still think Lies of P is better than any fromsoft game personally. Real clean, hardly any glitches. That said I never played bloodborne being an xbox player

To me this hits like the original god of war games in a different setting , im cool with that . Also has something of a sega look and vibe . Interesting looking game
I can't wait for this game. I'm not much of a fan of souls games but I loved God of War. Additionally, Journey to the West is near and dear to my heart. I remember being absolutely in love with the 1996 TVB series of Journey to the West when I was younger. I would even rush home from school so I wouldn't miss the next episode. I would love to see what they do with Wukong. BTW August 20th is not the Chinese New Year, that's on February 10th of this year. If anything it's closer to the Hungry Ghost Festival. August 20th is just the day that they released the first trailer for the game. Kind of symbolic really.

That's why many people think the game's release won't be delayed
Very excited for this but my only concern is apparently its mission based. This is subjective ofc but i wouldve preferred more traditional soulslike interconnected areas. That said i love the nioh games but nioh also had multiplayer so the mission structure makes more sense in that regard. Heres to hoping each individual mission has some intricate and sprawling level design

So far it looks awesome. I secretly wish that there would be a 2 player coop mode with games like this. But yes I will binge this game when it comes out. i wouldn't mind if it comes out during the winter.

Sekiro is a great game, but it is difficult and the gameplay is not a souls games. It fits much better under "souls like" even though it's made by FS. That and Bloodborne are much farther from souls games than they are close.

This game looks like it has the potential to be the Chinese gaming industry’s answer to God of War 2018 and Ragnarök, but not if it’s level-based… I pray this game is a free roam linear experience like God of War rather than having separate levels to play on like The Last of Us. I’m pretty intrigued for this game but there’s still a few things I need to see before being sold.
I just hope this is great. Not good or passable; I want this to be great. They announced it a bit early and have had 5 years since to work on it, and I hope it delivers. I'm ready for something like this. I do also hope the 15 hours is not accurate. Game like this should be more like 20-25 I think. Personal opinion, but if it's 15 really good hours with replay value then I'm good with it.

Your shit outta luck then if you play any souls-like game. It is meant to be hard so that the game takes you longer to beat and to give you a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when beaten. It’s part of the unforgiving genre
There's too much gameplay for it to flop. It's single-player, no micro-transactions. Only thing it can do bad is have poor optimization which I'm honestly expecting. It's a brand new company making an amazing looking game, there's reasons why big studios don't bother with overly-intense graphics, it's way too hard to optimize for the average person. Games like Red Dead are an exception because they dedicated millions of dollars on optimization. Not every studio has the budget for that.
There’s actually much more for it to fail. For example, redundant gameplay. A ton of bugs. I’m just gonna wait till people buy it and tell me how it is. I’ve seen too many games fail. Caveat Emptor.

It is called 72 Transformations but it isn't limited to that. He can turn into anything.
