I understand this is a very different kind of story from what I usually tell but it was a lot of fun to make and I wanted to take a crack at exploring the relationship between Goku and Vegeta. Vegeta, Goku and Bulma are extremely in character and I absolutely dig it. Gremlin Geets height and conflict are my jam. Goku's adorable without being a complete idiot. The voices are absolutely perfect. I still love the "VN + sprites + dialogue cards" format. The jazz music is lovely and incredibly funny without actually mocking Vegeta's feelings, which is just, my heart is full!!
I'm extremely honored to have been able to discuss shipping dynamics and representations with Chimp in a way that brings together two sides of the fandom which tend to be.. kinda hostile towards one another sometimes (much to my chagrin, really)
Thank you for doing this video, it's precious and I can't wait to see how their relation evolve! Will Bulma and Chichi be a problem? Will they merge their families? The mystery!!

You know, as an enemies to lovers person, and big fan of DBZ and Kakavege, this actually fits them and I love it. It's a different path to open up to new creativity! A new universal lore, and it is great! They do act like an old married couple in the show which is just hilariously adorable. Lovely video, keep up the great work!

Never thought I'd like the Goku/Vegeta pairing but you showed how great a story with them as a couple can be very compelling, great on you for doing something so different then every other what if CZcamsr.

Honestly, this is just amazing. I'm not one for male x male ships, but this AU honestly pulled the best from the concepts. Love how you framed it with Vegeta pulling a bunch of romance tropes--even laughed at the "I never said 'love'" part a little.
Honestly, I think you're making a name for yourself well--using the weirdest concepts for AUs, and making them freaking GLORIOUS, with good jokes and a surprisingly compelling story.

You wouldn't believe what exists in the Doujinshi / fan comics / fanfic communities that's actually right in the "relation betwene characters drives the story" mood like Chimp's been doing in the most interesting way. Sadly very few of them make it to CZcams (only the combat centric stuff) :(

Look, i wont say im a fan of this ship particularly. Especially with the implication that the saiyans would consider cheating on their wives for it.
But seeing this video gave me hope for Dragon Ball again. As someone who wants to write queer shonen, and loves dragon ball wholeheartedly, I have my own rarepairs that I like, but i knew if i created anything for it the community would be insulting at best and down right cruel at worst. But seeing a larger creator go for it, and have it be pretty well recieved? It makes my day man.

I honestly like this male pairings don’t get me wrong I like any kinda shipping but male ships especially in dragon ball always seem so rare if their made their dull and boring. But this story is really great shows both new realistic sides to both especially vegeta I love how it didn’t seem rushed and reasons behind it looking forward to future these stories
KakaVege ship is high on the slash ship list (with TruTen) of DBZ tbh, they're extremely common in media.. just not on youtube :) twitter, pixiv, tumblr and all doujinshi since 1991 are where it's at.
It's far from a rarepair!
Thank you for being vocal about supporting it, the DB community is very divided on this; lots of fans really look down on the people who've been doing fanfics/doujinshi for the past thirty years, and it's pretty sad

It's pretty sad the "mainstream" DB community just doesn't think about relationships at all, beyond "they get together and have a kid", and that's the only thing going on. Like, no, Goku thinks about Chichi every time he needs to defend earth, Vegeta's relation with Bulma is super interesting, TruTen is a ship that sails on its own, Yamza is heavily played with in FighterZ... Piccolo as you've mentioned is just bae. So like, show all of the spectrum, don't be shy! Toriyama wasn't shy at all. Hell, Future Trunks is all of the genders at the same time and we stan :')
I wish mainstream DBtubers were brave enough to review or talk about female/queer fan content, even without shipping, but only for character introspection. Like, that HTC year between Vegeta and Trunks? Come on, Toriyama gave us nothing, we gotta do something! (I sure did :p )

I'm hesitant on this ship because I love Vegeta X Bulma to the moon, but you did it so well.
Personally my favorite fan ship would be Trunks X Goten, there's a lot of potential with them and I could see a classic "coming-of-age" story with them from all sorts of tropes.

I have to keep pausing to recover because so far this is like every sappy Hallmark romance movie with a dash of telenovela. Both painful AND hilarious, and I'm only 6 minutes in.

Hilarious, but full of the romance tropes that leave me cringing. Not a bad thing, but took me a bit to stop laughing.... Having floated around a LOT of fanfic websites (used to write it myself), this is still the best slash-fic I've seen in years for these two.
Also, the wife (who doesn't watch DB) gives big thumbs up. Wanted to watch it with me out of curiosity and she noticed the... Ahem.. More mature entertainment music. Lol.

What an amazing what if story, I really love how Vegeta and Goku are still themselves even tho their relationship has kinda change. Refuring to general blue that he never thought that gay men could be evil. Which is kinda heart warming
