- Here's a chart with the 16 Myers Briggs personality types organized into groups of four. One day I'd like to redo this video with better handwriting and fewer cuts. In the meantime, I hope this helps make sense of the types and their characteristics!
** ISTP and ESTP belong with explorers, and ESFJ and ISFJ belong with sentinels. But the bottom left corner is still RELATING (SF), and the bottom right corner is still DIRECTING (ST).

The way these personality types were explained to me, is that these are the building blocks of our personality/behavior, but your personal experience can add "flavor" to your personality. For example, you can have a Virtuoso type, and a Virtuoso type with a strong sense narcissism. They'll both behave differently, but their ways of seeing, perceiving and processing information is the same. That might be why you find just the 16 types restrictive.*

The personality types have no correlation to the personality. It is one of the biggest misconceptions coming to the types. The types actually break down further, so instead of just having N, there are Ni and Ne. Ni is introverted intuition and Ne is extroverted intuition. It gets much more complex than this. I've studied this and the extended theories and it becomes crazy.
Another thing, just because you have E for extrovert, doesnt mean you are an extrovert. It merely refers to the way you gain energy. For example ENTPs are the most introverted among the extroverted intuitives. It's very miss leading for those who are not aware.
@@crackheadvibez5318 Very interesting. I've read somewhere that Carl Jung originally came up with this theory, but it only involved the first 3 pairs. The perceiving and judging function was later added by Myers and Briggs. Is that true?
And do you know who came up with the theorie of further breaking down the types into Ni and Ne for example?
@@allekssits380 Sorry I got to this late. I know Carl Jung only created the first three functions. I do not know who created the last set of functions or who extended the function break down theory.
I would know if I paid attention to the names but I didnt. I only paid attention to the way the functions work.

ENTP. I also have a lot of self proclaimed INFJ friends. I had a period in my life where I used to read about type theory allll day lol, I even checked out the book by Isabel Myers, which I can't remember the name of, that explains the theory behind mbti, and read it multiple times. For some reason it was the most interesting topic, I loved learning in detail the reasons behind why people see the world differently from me. I think it can be helpful to people who tend to get frustrated by people's differences, which is what Myers was after, I think. Harmony based on an understanding of our differences.

I‘m INTJ and I think it is quite accurate, even though it depends on my mood (which I know technically shouldn’t be possible)
Your answers change on mood. Not your type. A test only works based on the answers you give. It is possible to be missed typed under the 16personities version of the test. If you want more accurate results you would have to take a functions test to determine your level of development in each function.
That’s actually one of the major criticisms of the Meyers brigg in that it has low retest consistency. So you’re not wrong in saying your personality type appears to change based on mood, it’s an unfortunate flaw of the test. It’s still an interesting system though and can be fun to consider.
@@trose5213 Its not a failure of the test as it is a impossibility to give a concrete answer to something as inconsistent as the human psyche or answering. Also the questions can be interpreted differently from person to person.
You just gave me an idea for another video... can you do something on handwriting analysis? I am so impressed with your penmanship. I noticed you hold your pen differently (I’ve seen this before) yet you write neater than a lot of people who hold their pen “correctly”. People always point out that I write like a “lefty” despite writing w/ my right hand. I am somewhat ambidextrous and I believe my brain is confused! This was a very relaxing video, thank you!

Love these chart videos and love them without the sharpie! The writing sounds are quieter this way. It’s so interesting hearing people’s interpretations of Myers Briggs! I feel like I align really closely with my type but a lot of my friends don’t find it all that resonant for them.

I've taken this test a couple times and the results are always intresting. Depending on wear I am in my life, I either get extrovert or introvery even though it's usually 50-50-ish. I literally always get the diplomat which I think is very true. While watching this video I got ENFJ-T the protagonist and I think that's the most true yet.

I was somewhat surprised to get the result of ENFP (campaigner) from doing the test but now that I think of it I do have some of those qualities. Based on your very helpful descriptions I feel as though I have some INFP (mediator) mixed in as well. I tend to think of myself as being more analytical in nature but perhaps with a little more introspection I will realize my emotions are guiding me more than I realize. We are all mercurial and complex beings in the end. These are useful categories to think about as long as they aren't treated as absolutes. Loving this long running series of M the INFJ with her magic pad and pen. :P

For information, I am a very intuitive person, I get vibes off of people without even knowing them, and I’m always right. I got the “vibe” then I would observe to see if I was right. But it got to the point where I shut everyone out and made a wall to protect myself from ever being hurt. It was a terrible way to live

How do you know how you process information (2nd letter)? I am not sure. Both types seem like a match. Do you maybe have examples how you can decide?
One thing that people miss about Myers Briggs is that it is based on tendencies and it's so much more than 16 combinations of "letters". The types are not absolute and you will find that there are percentages within each dichotomy. Therefore, not all INTJs like me will be the same. There's no need to put yourself in a box. Myers Briggs is about yourself and personal development.

Make sure you’re really thinking about the replies you’re giving. Apparently you’ve changed from an extrovert to an introvert between surveys. You’ve also apparently changed from someone who prefers to plan things ahead of time to someone who likes to keep all options in the air until a decision NEEDS to be made.
You can see how these are contradictory. Make sure you aren’t giving responses that fit the person you wish you were or that you want to be. A lot of people do this.
I took the test various times and I always end up INTP or INTJ. I think it's because my "operating mode" is not the same for all activities or changes according to the time of the day.
Ps: I'm also a Capricorn but does it have an importance in finding your type?
@@user-zf5yf3qp2o no not really being Capricorn have nothing to do with it but yk Capricorn characteristics are T (thinker) so ♑ are more like to be T (unless other placements are too different ex. Water sign) for example take me i Capricorn ♑ but 🌚 is ♈ rising is ♒ & i am ENTP that's kinda make sense moon & rising ( ♒ ♈) characteristics plays role in my ENXP (Ne) & cap is serious so i have T (Ti) so for me astrology & mbti co-relates at least for me lol XD (lol i have said so much for a late reply)

Types of tests like those, we tend to answer in a way where we show ourselves as better than what we are. Try again and try to answer truthfully. Be ready to admit any of your flaws because in the end, no one else is seeing you take the rest but you! That’s how I got my result that matched me :D I went from commander to protagonist after I admitted I am a softie
The Myers Briggs test isn't accurate, there's no evidence and it is based on unproven theories. So don't worry it's not your fault or anything.
Try looking up cognitive functions.May make more sense for you.

you got it a little mixed up... the explorers all share SP not SF, so they would be the ISTPs, ESTPS, ISFPs, and ESFPs. The sentinels all share SJ not ST so those are the ISTJs, ESTJs, ISFJs, and ESFJs.
