I feel like Hans understands the long game in these tournaments. I've seen a number of times now where he'll take a quick draw early in the tourney, even with a lower rated opponent. Seems like he's willing to draw in order to conserve energy and push for wins vs certain players later in the tournament. He's been playing well lately.

it's pretty normal to draw with black vs strong opponents in closed positions, he never accepts those with white. It's his opponent who is scared of him and forced a draw
