I disagree. They should have gotten a drag queen or someone more camp. Ursula was very camp.
@@paris300k4 Have you seen any of the footage released in TV spots and clips, darling? Trust, I've been a drag queen for twenty-eight years and though we would have loved one of our own to play the role, Mz. McCarthy nails it. Especially in the camp department.

To people doubting Melissa, do remember one fact. She is not just a comedy actor. She is an award-nominee/recognized actor. And believe it or not, comedy is an equally challenging act as drama.

Dramatic actors at the top of the field aspire to play comedy. Comedy is a specialized branch of acting that not everyone can play. Melissa has it all.
You can still see her real eyebrow peaking through eyeshadow in all of the clips and trailers. They should hire a Drag Queen to do Ursula’s makeup professionally for the movie.
It gave me anxiety not seeing symmetry in her eyebrows😢

I like her in the role more than I thought I would. I just wish they would've made her look more menacing.
I think the point they are making is that Ursula in this film is not a caricature. She is merely misunderstood and does what she has to do. She is actually an aunt who was not given the chances she deserved.

I just commented on it as well, but I could easily see them explaining those brows with "Oh, they're intentionally uneven. Ursula lives at the bottom of the sea where there is no natural light, she rarely leaves her home in the leviathan skeleton, and her only two companions are a pair of electric eels."
To which I'd respond: _Doesn't make them any less uneven, does it?_

But she’s said herself in interviews she never wore the wig whilst shooting, she just wore the cap and the hair was all cgi, so this is wrong! 🤷🏻♂️😂

The makeup looks way better on the trailer, so it was probably corrected with cgi. This was just a bad day for the makeup artist I guess... It's decent on the movie so I'm happy.

I love the Little Mermaid and will go see but I think her makeup and costume could've been a little more dramatic. The makeup looks simple like she's going to a club and hairs okay but they could've added more double-chin, enhance the character more idk🤦🤷🤔

I could have done a better job. You got paid thousands for uneven brows? Divine makeup is way more detailed than that.
I just don’t understand. Ursula’s makeup is inspired by drag makeup, which is over the top and larger than life. This look seems watered down to me. Crooked brows, plain uninspired eyeshadow, no lashes?? It just seems so tame and disappointing

@@iloveanimaniacs Why should I? The movie deserved better CGI and Disney had the budget for it but they didn't do anything. They look like floating people 💀. Everything looks like someone edited it. Just literally take a look at Under The Sea snippet. The CGI makes me wanna throw up.
