Geeeze - tease tease tease… can’t wait to see what you have coming up… and crazy about the other Sling kit in CO that’s available… that would have been fun to help with…
Immaculate work as always, Evan! Can see you are busy busy busy. Are you yet able to comment, post testing, on the weight and balance upgrades you were testing on the Slings?
If you’re referring to the firewall ballast to counterweight the parachute, it works great, 50lb at the firewall is what it requires to keep the plane in good cg. Of course keep in mind that’s 50lb of useful load, but for some families it works out if they’re on the smaller side, like the owners of that tsi. For larger people, there may not be a perfect solution, but I’m always working on these little things in the back of my mind so maybe a better solution will present itself in the future!
Thanks.,, I think I'm going to try on the front of the gearbox that way it has a better arm... And combine that with a normal heavy battery that would be on the firewall
@@steveyoung6787 sure, good luck! You’ll need about 40lb on the gearbox to get it to work properly. And that’s if you remove the counterweight from the elevator as well. Otherwise 50lb. I didn’t trust the gearbox to hold that kind of weight without damage
Very much looking forward to seeing the high wing kit. Super exciting.

Looking forward to hearing about your experience with the Sling HW build. I have a kit on order and will be a first time builder.

What is the aluminum box in the rear for? Nice start to your build!
I was wondering the Same thing.. He skipped over all the interesting bits in the middle of the fuse.
Well spotted Harlan, that is his obvious surprise that he is going to let us know about in the future video 😁
Evan, What size rivets did you use?
What’s the lead time on a kitfox?
Mine did not come with an avionics cable tray. Is that part of the drop in panel?
Yeah, it comes with the avionics package from kitfox
You should not be drilling any holes into the frame at all. Like the cable tray
Hey, I'm in San Diego and I'd be happy to do some work on weekends for free If you'd be willing to take me up with you now and then haha
