Yes, yes, yes! Stray Kids do it all, they go hard, they go soft, they go goofy, if you want versatility then look no further than Stray Kids. They also don’t shy away from serious topics. They’re the most creative and talented artists I’ve seen in a loooooooong time.

Yup, every video and performance is this good. STRAY KIDS! Eight members who all rap, sing and dance at top level. Oh, and in case no one has mentioned it, they also write and produce their own music! ❤️🙏😇

Stray Kids is one of the groups that got me really into K-Pop. I recommend you check out Easy, District 9, Back Door, Side Effects, Cheese & Red Lights. They are are all on my playlist - along with Thunderous & God's Menu that you've already done. K-Pop videos (& dance practices) are on a whole other level.

Love Stray Kids. It seems like every song is different. Some of the more experimental songs is Maze of Memories, Tortise and the Hare and side effects. I love that they can give you rock influences and turn around with rap and EDM. Love your breakdown. Can’t wait to see more breakdowns. A slower song that I love is Chronosaurus, Slump, Levanter English version. My ultimate favorite songs Double Knot, District 9, Easy, Any and Chronosaurus.

I can't believe these 8 guys in their 20's write, compose and produce 99% of these songs, fr, just insane... Then they rap, sing and dance as well? Sr?
With a discography with about 200 self produced songs? I can't

Thank you for reacting to them!! They produce their own music and have a lot of creative freedom, which is why they experiment a lot. Also, some songs that show their vocals more and/or slower rap are “19”, “Levanter”, “Secret Secret”, “Sorry I love you”, “Never ending story” (live performance), and “Gone Away”.
Some heavy rap (hype) songs are “Maze of Memories” (no MV), “Easy”, “MIROH”, “Domino” (no MV, but there’s a dance practice), “Victory Song”, “Double Knot”, and “Wolf Gang” (there’s two live performances) . For more experimental songs there’s “3rd Eye”(no MV), “Side Effects”, “Tortoise and the Hare” (no MV), and “Silent Cry” (no MV). There’s so many different genres in their discography it’s crazy!!

Thank you Sean for your reaction again to stray Kids. Answer to your questions yes stray kids has a range of different types of songs. They have a few ballads, heavy rap, well balanced with rap and vocals, hyped songs, heavy beat drops and fun and very cute feel good songs. A lot of the street b side songs are fun songs and you see the guys in a happy light. Get Cool, Gone Days are cute fun songs. Boxer street vers., Question m/v and n/s are fun songs with a mixture, Victory Song, Side Effects, All In, Gods Menu Back Door Thunderous and Domino are all hype songs sick beat drops. Hellevator (pre debut) & District 9 have emotional lyrics with heavy rap and vocals. Easy has a steady beat but not so hard it is even flow with some heavy rap. Ex m/v, Leventer, The View, Blue Print are some great vocals with some rap, medium beats. Side Effects m/v is a mixture of rock and edm and has some great vocals with rap. Never Ending Story was created for a series and only live performance is out there. It is slow with slight rap and the lyrics are beautiful. Stray kids does it all. Start from the their pre debut and debut and work your way up through their albums. Might take you a while cause there is a lot but they are all good no matter what you like.

Dark Sexy crazy guitar : “Red Light “
Rap : “The Tortoise and The Hare”

Hi, this was so good. Loved your reaction.
If you want to see something different I always recommend "Easy" and "Slump The First Take version" . They are both some of my all time favs.🌞
"Easy" is strong hitting but really smooth at the same time and a very different vibe from the last 2 you heard so far.
"Slump" is the ending to an anime "Tower of God" and in the First Take Version you can see the vocals of each member. They also wrote the opening and that's called "Top"
If you want to hear some insane style of rapping, one of my all time Stray Kids favourite Rap Bars are in their District 9 track. It was really an eye opener for me, because the bars run like on a string. It's awsome. Stray kids are self produced and over 90% of their music and lyrics are self written. They have a sub unit called 3Racha, they have some amaizing Rap songs and one of my favourites from them is "We Go"

  • @jinwang4927
    @jinwang4927 Před 2 lety +15

Oh man, trust me! What got me into them is how much DIVERSE and insanely creative & genius they are with their experimental music + The multitalents of every member ( like 8 people can do it all from singing to rapping to dancing nd even producing/writing..) is what allowed them to jump on different genres, mix them tgthr to create whole new genres boldly and excel everytime somehow. It still blows my mind. The more songs I hear from them, performances I watch, concepts, storylines, lyrics & wordplays i analyse, the more blown I am and the more I realize that they are really unreachable & one of a kind!
You have a long way to go, it's such an overwhelming journey, like there is no way out once you are in xD welcome to our rabbit hole♥️

I really, really hope you keep exploring Stray Kids because I LOVE how thoughtful your reactions have been. subbed for sure! :D "What do they have to offer?" oh dude...these boys have EVERYTHING. while they have a wonderfully distinct "signature sound", they've played with over 35 genres and their discography as a whole is one of the most diverse I've ever heard...and their singing is just as amazing as their rap IMO. you have SO many incredible gems to discover from them. if you want to explore their softer side, check out "Mixtape: OH" for a good love song, "The View" for a feel-good jam, or "Secret Secret" for beautiful vocals and comforting lyrics.
as for how our boys started...their story is just as unique as their sound! the vast majority of kpop groups are carefully planned and put together by their company - that goes for the member lineup, the music, the concept and style. but Stray Kids came together differently. not only are they self-produced - they are self-MADE.
JYP appointed one of his most trusted and experienced trainees, Bang Chan, as the leader of an untitled “Boys Project Team”. he told Chan to choose members for his OWN group - to train them, develop their concept, create songs with them - and tell the company when they felt ready to debut as a fully fledged kpop group. they then had to PROVE they were ready through an intense survival show, where any member could be cut from the lineup if they didn't perform well enough by JYP’s standards.
despite many challenges, setbacks and tears, their determination paid off and they debuted on March 25, 2018 as one family, with their powerful manifesto of a song: "District 9".
FUN FACT: Stray Kids decided on their own name together during the survival show, and Bang Chan even designed their logo himself! according to Chan, “Stray Kids” means breaking away from the norm, finding their own path in their music, and banding together with every other “stray kid” out there who feels lost or alone, no matter where they are. that's why you’ll see that motto at the end of their videos: “Stray kids everywhere all around the world - you make Stray Kids stay.” we have a place to belong in their music...and in turn, they have one in us. :)

    @OEquiano Před 2 lety +7

For me, here are some good examples of something really different of Stray Kids than what you've already watched: THE FIRST TAKE is a Japanese channel which records individuals/groups singing a song live in one take. Singers/rappers cannot hide, in other words, behind production (there's only a backing track). Stray Kids have featured on it three times now. SCARS czcams.com/video/mDw95b-YyEc/video.html, OH and SLUMP are all written and produced by them, the latter two the beginning and ending songs for the soundtrack of the anime adaptation of webtoon TOWER OF GOD. Many Stray Kids fans have found their way to their music because of this soundtrack, curious who the singers/rappers were. STREETLIGHT czcams.com/video/_oCptmj2gIQ/video.html is Changbin on his own both rapping and singing about his mental health struggles in lockdown. It's a stonking song - but you'll need to have the English lyrics to hand seperately as no MV exists with English translations (lyric video here czcams.com/video/jc7P23nuIds/video.html for the translation). As you explore their discography (which is almost entirely written and produced by themselves) you'll find there's a huge range. They have their own solo projects going all the time too, as well as the group creations, so take a deep breath and dive in! They're just fantastic. Their new album launches Friday - SOOO excited!

Don’t know if you’ve already done this but Stray Kids have 4 new Music Videos out from their new album Oddinary which came out end of March. I think you would like Maniac, Venom, and Freeze. The other video for Lonely Street is more Alternative rock that their usual but still a good track. No music video yet for their song Muddy Water from that album, but you can watch a lyric video of it, and that song has such a cool old school hip hop vibe mixed with a little bit of new school it’s one of the most interesting songs I’ve ever heard.

Welcome to stray kids, yep they do so much. They always give such great mvs so that the creativity is in the songs, lyrics and styles. They have storyline universes that keep us stays caught up in memes and wondering which universe they are going to give us this time. Oddinary is looking like it will bang! Yes! Stray kids are an 8 member group (formerly 9. A member left due to personal reasons) and all the members were chosen by the leader of the group Bang Chan (He starts singing at 2:00).
This group is also self produced! Every song is written, composed and arranged by the members themselves! Typically the ones to produce are Bang Chan, Han (1:41) and Changbin (1:30) their producing unit name is 3racha (pronounced like the hot sauce sriracha) but over the years, the other members have participated in producing as well.
Mark your calendar for march 18th! A brand new mini album and MV comes out that day titled "Maniac"!
It's interesting you point out the conglomerate of genres! when you google it, it just comes back with "kpop" as stray kids genre which is a little annoying personally haha but Some articles have dubbed their sound as "Mala taste" Mala taste originates from the word malatang, which is used to describe a popular Chinese spicy, numbing hot soup. I think their sound really is something thats "spicy" in its intense choruses but it leaves the listener addicted and wanting more.
Almost every person I've shown gods menu to have, like you, said it was too short even though it is the standard length of a song. Shows how addicting it can be!!
For something a bit different id recommend watching their "First take" performances for Scars, Slump and/or mixtape: oh. These songs are a bit slower but still do include rap and that stray kids style!
Some more of my faves though would be Easy and Any (more of a hip-hop style), Side effects (psytrance chorus that ruins me every time), 19 (Slower reflective song about the uneasy feeling of realising you're growing up and might not quite be ready), Astronaut (Tropical House) tortoise and the hare (honestly idek how to describe this one its just an experience) and Domino. (There is no MV for this one but you could watch the dance practice or the lyric video. there is an English version too if you wanna try that one, they both slap in my opinion!)
Bang Chan and Felix (2:43) grew up in Australia! in fact, when the group was first being formed, Felix could not speak Korean fluently yet and it meant he almost couldn't debut with the rest of the group.
Lee Know (2:27 (He doesn't really have any lines in this song :c)) used to be in a dance crew and was actually a backup dancer for BTS on tour! his experience in Dance is what made Bang Chan put him in charge of dance for this band!
Sorry if this is information overload!! Thank you for reacting to Stray Kids !

If you want to hear a Stray Kids song that has different song structure from this, and even more experimental than these two songs, check out "Tortoise and the Hare" and "3rd Eye". As for slower songs by Stray Kids, check out "Neverending Story." The group name is often shorted to SKZ and their fandom name is Stay. :) They have a new album coming out tomorrow. If you listen throughout their entire discography you won't be disappointed.

My fav of their songs is Side Effects. It's just... high energy and I love it. It has deeper meaning. The ending sequence in the "God's Menu" MV segues to the video for Back Door, which is another favorite. Now their sound always changes and evolves. You never know what you're gonna get. Side Effects is like EDM club music. Back Door is fun and funky, maybe a bit ... soul disco? I dunno how to describe it. But these boys always evolve their sound and they don't have a "style" per se. I love them!!! As for the vocal breaks, that's standard for Kpop. It's just something a lot of bands do. I'd also recommend NCT's "Gimme, Gimme". I think they had the same video director, and the transitions in their MV are spectacular too. NCT are my jam. They're much the same way, no two songs alike, always changing.

Skz are so amazeing, they produced 95% of their discography and have the fastest rapper in kpop(11.13 sps) he is the one who started the song and his name is Changbin. Other members Hyunjin spits at 8.38 sps and Han at 9.03 syllables per second. And their leader Bang Chan produces *all* of their music.
Please check out their Hellevator (pre-debute) and Tortise and the Hare, and Maze of Memories for Rap heavy songs.
For vocals, I love the songs Scars, I am you, and Neverending Story💜💜💜💜
I really liked your reactions and breakdown, please keep listening to them!!!

"The Tortoise and the Hare" is one of their most experimental songs. There isn't an MV for it but there are lyrics videos. "Scars" is one of their Japanese releases that shows another side of them as well.

  • @jadefrog
    @jadefrog Před 2 lety

A very very diverse group, and it is worth looking at the lyric videos for all of them, since even their lighter, fun or hard-charging work has meaningful lyrics. Slower, more serious work--check the First Take series, Mixtape:OH, Slump, and Scars. Also Levanter, The View, Winter Falls, Voices, Sorry I Love You...... For something super odd but awesome, check The Tortoise and The Hare (yes, based on Aesop). They also have what I think of as their funny or frat-boy type songs, some are silly, some are just kind of dumb, but also great to listen to, and many include amazing wordplay. That includes Get Cool, Boxer, Surfin', Awkward Silence, Cheese, and possibly My Pace (also I Can't Live Without Changbin, but you have to know more about the group to understand why that is so hilarious). They have a few sweeter songs, mostly in the unit releases, where two or three members make a special project. They also have two "sexy" songs, both unit releases, Drive, and Red Lights. And for general awesome songs, Double Knot, Domino, Back Door, Easy......

I suggest you listen to their new EP Oddinary, it does a good job showing their different sides and all seven songs on it are great :)
For a group that debuted four years ago Stray Kids have a pretty impressive discography (both in quantity and quality), especially considering they're the primary songwriters in most of it. Three of the members, going by 3RACHA, are the most involved in the creative process, but the other members get writing credits here and there and are all honing their songwriting skills. There was a ninth member when they started out, but he left more than two years ago, and everything indicates it wasn't in good terms so most of the fandom acts as if he was never there (saying that in case you start looking at their pre-2020 stuff).
Ho and they're absolutely great live so I suggest you watch some performances :) Last year they were on a competition TV show called Kingdom with five other boy groups, and it was an occasion for them to do some really dope performances (and I have to mention that the other groups also did a great job, so the show gave us overall fantastic stages).

-To sheed your heart out: sorry I love you (I cry everytime)
-To have a bdsm moment: red lights (very strong in the guitar)
-Showing they're love for the fan base: love stay (stay its the fandom name)
To challenge your taste in rap music: the tortoise and the hare (3min full)(I'm suspicious about this one since it's my favorite, but it's very experimental, so you've been warned)
-To the haters: Domino (3min full version)

They somehow managed to have that typical "StrayKids-sound" while still having an incredible variety of songs/genres.
If you want more vocal-centric and slower songs I recommend Ex, Secret Secret, Neverending Story and 24 to 25 (it's a christmas song but it has no rap at all and shows their vocals really well). (I'd add Gone away to the lit as well, but there's only three of them in it)

They're actually dropping a new album tomorrow (only in like 11 hours by now) the title track is Maniac and it looks like an other masterpiece from teasers! You'll have to check it out!
Stray Kids have a very diverse discography, I love how they've done so many different genres.
    Other MVs I'd recommend:
Back Door (you have to see it to understand)
    Miroh (this one goes hard)
Side Effects (very experimental, very noisy, I love it!)
Levander (more of a melodic sound)
My Pace (one of their early releases, really fun)
Christmas EveL (the hardest going Christmas song I've ever heard)
Hellevator (their very first (pre-debut) title track, a classic)
    Easy (AAAAA!!!!!)
Cheese (love how they diss the haters)
Red Lights (I'm a simple (horny) woman, I had to include it)
    Surfin' (fun summer song)
    Gone away (VOCALS)
    /The last 3 are unit songs/
And many more but it's already a long enough list so I'm stopping here for now XD

don’t know if you’re still reading comments, but if you’re looking for good raps you definitely need to delve into NCT. they’re phenomenal. specifically for starters, the songs “Cherry Bomb”, “90s Love”, and “Chain”. also “New Axis” would be good as it’s just straight up rap, but there isn’t a music video so you’d have to watch a lyric video.
