    Retro Active is my Fave Lep Album. It was all b sides songs they had on the "wall" as joe would say, The last hoooo rah for Steve and his hours of riffs her recorded. With that said, Def Leppard hands down can never be replicated. They are there own Genre. Love them! Not just because of their music. But the respect and commitment they have for each other is something you just do not see in bands.

      I agree. They are genuine together and you can see it. The lobe and respect eacgother and it is rare. Beautiful. Love it.

    Def Leppard was an awesome band. Being a songwriter myself I always liked their bridge changing work in their songs. I did get the see them live in concert before Steve Clark passed, so it was all the original members. It was me and one of the guitar players who I was in a band with at the time. It was one of the few concerts I went to see since I was also doing a lot of playing myself. I thought it was cool when I first found out that Led Zeppelin was one of Def Leppard's favorite bands, since that was my favorite band. I liked when you were doing your countdown to the music and had 2 fingers up, but you said 3, and then you corrected yourself by saying "That's two". You're funny.

      That is amazing and cool you were able to see them. Cool you are a songwriter and we're in a band. Thank you. Much love.

    I love this song. I may be wrong but I think Phil originally wrote it for Paul Rodgers, who does a stellar version of it.

    I prefer the electric version. To each their own.

    Hi Sarah. I love this song and find it very emotional. Like you I prefer the piano version, closely followed by the acoustic one. The electric version I can either take or leave. It's kinda redundant just like you said. If I was to be critical i would say the piano version sounds heartfelt and sincere and the electric version an over produced, syrupy confection. The 3 different versions smacks of indecisiveness and disagreement in the ranks and the song probably suffers as a result, which is a shame as it is a bloody good song.
    Oh, well, who cares really. As the stones sang "it's only rock 'n' roll, but I like it, like it, yes I do!"😁
    Well done Sarah! I always like it when we are on the same page with regards to the songs you review. It validates my awesome taste in music and makes me feel less like the weirdo who listens to music everyone else thinks is shit!🤣🤣🤣🤣
    I will catch up (eventually) in the overview!! 🐆🤘🤘

      I can see the acoustic being sincere. They pull out various emotions but I just dodnt feel the electric one. Thank you. Much love.

    Cannot believe how our Lepps have taken the States by storm for the last 35 years. Love your Riffmaster T-shirt by the way. I visited his grave many years back.

      It’s the other way around. The US made Def Leppard and as they said, they had to go there to become superstars before the UK finally embraced them.

    Ever since his passing, that band hasn’t been the same when it came to to making good songs. Gone but never forgotten. Just like the singer Joe Elliot said, We all hung out with our friends. He hung out with a his guitar and a bottle.

    • @SarahraeLivingLife
      @SarahraeLivingLife  Před 2 lety

      Right. I feel that. I just feel on some weird level that I get steve and connect with him. May sound weird but I am sure that everyone feels that with someone. Anyway, I do think that way that they were never the same. Like I said he was a fundamental part of who dl was.

    • @Cpk86
      @Cpk86 Před 2 lety

      @@SarahraeLivingLife Steve did most of the lyric writing guitar solo’s etc etc. when you watch Def Leppard hall of fame and when joe Eliot said over the 10 years Steve Clark made a massive musical contribution to this band, that’s what he meant when he said that cause Steve went the extra mile more into making that band better

    • @Cpk86
      @Cpk86 Před 2 lety

      @@SarahraeLivingLife Also, if it wasn’t for Pete Willis,there probably be Def Leppard today cause joe Elliot missed the bus and walked and bumped into him and as for Steve Clark, that was his college buddy. People don’t really know much Pete Willis did to make that band to get it going and deserves more credit. Yea joe Eliot can mock him and give him the elbow but if it wasn’t for Pete,joe Eliot would of probably still be working at a factory
