So sorry Madge Sinclair is no longer here to reprise her role in “Coming to America 2”. She is definitely missed...what a talented woman she was indeed!
The first female captain AND first black captain of a starship in the Star Trek universe. Along with Nichelle Nichols, she paved the way for black people in the future and women seen as competent authority figures.
They should have given Madge the role of captain in the Star Trek series, "Voyager". Mulgrew's portrayal was flat humdrum. Her role as captain of the "Saratoga" in "The Voyage Home" was far to brief. Even in that small role, she was so impressive as a captain.
She also played, Geordi La Forge's mother in, Star Trek; The Next Generation, "interface".
Coming to America and the Lion King became the best thing of the my childhood

This was brilliant, thank you for putting this together. Ms Madge was an illustrious woman. One can just imagine what she would have further achieved if she didn't leave us so soon.
There is a recent LA times interview with Eddie Murphy and the director for the new Coming 2 America movie. Eddie said they had just shot an emotional scene and that it was beautiful, I connected the dots and I believe that scene must be about Madge Sinclair.
