  • Learn To Fly The L-39 Tactical Jet Trainer here up-and-ready-f...
    Ever wanted to fly a fighter jet? you can either join the airfare or Navy and fly FA18s Like Pete or if you’re lucked out, you can learn to fly a fighter jet trainer like the L-39. You will be trained by the best and experienced fighter pilots.
    Pete Stavrides and his team are all tactical jet pilot with extensive knowledge and experience flying for the US navy. They train civilian private pilots like you and me how to fly a single engine military jet trainer like the L-39. the training and Cherie in a bird like this is pretty fast just like the aircraft itself. There are some prerequisites though. You would need at least 500 hours of flight time as pilot in command. And a total of 1000 hours. Just 500 of those hours have to be PIC.

      @gavinhalm3016 Před 3 lety

      The Viper Jet is a kit-build "Experimental" plane with a jet engine, so yes, one needs a Type rating from the FAA that needs to be renewed annually same as the L-39. Plus, an L-39 is right around the same price with a "glass" cockpit (~500k), and it's a bad-@$$, late-Soviet era real life jet trainer with plenty of examples around world-wide...a Viper Jet can't touch that level of awesome, even if it is a few knots faster.

    I wonder why it's so heavy. And such a big body. 3.5ton empty, only 2 seat unpressurized and 17kN thrust engine. A 300kg Williams FJ44-4 engine can match that thrust. A good composite bird should be possible at 600kg including engine. Which would be a very different thrust to weight ratio. And fuel economy. And top speed.

    • @DanFrederiksen
      @DanFrederiksen Před 4 lety +1

      we need small efficient GA jets. sub 200k$ new price, same fuel economy as a Sling yet close to speed of sound. It's very doable.

    • @lucifermorningstar4548
      @lucifermorningstar4548 Před 4 lety +4

      Dan Frederiksen no it’s not doable. You must be new to aviation. The cheapest jet engine that can push a 1 passenger jet (Subsonex jet from Sonex) is still over $70,000 for just the engine, and it drinks gas. A RR 300 turbo shaft engine is about $450,000 and that’s barely 400shp. Nothing is cheap let alone a jet. And jet aircraft cannot be flimsy like a Sling TSI because they are subjected to higher G’s and speeds.

      @@lucifermorningstar4548 ye of little faith. Unlike you I have the insight to think on my own, I'm not an unquestioning product of what has already been done. I'm well familiar with the sad state of aviation. Of course it can be done and I wouldn't use the same construction as the current sling. You'll notice I said composite bird. If you weren't new to aviation you'd understand what that means. A Lancair IV-P can do 540km/t so it's not a structural impossibility to go fast. Lancair also exists in faster turboprop versions. And it's not like a Cirrus Visionjet is a 12g rated fighter. But of course needs flutter stability appropriate of its speed.
      btw did you create this account just to be the devil's advocate or do you have this general sunny disposition?

    • @lucifermorningstar4548

      Dan Frederiksen i must have hurt your feelings. And it’s sad it took you this long to come up with some kind or retort. And when you did it was sad. No I am not new to aviation at all, after my time in the Air Force I went and got my A&P license and have been working at Lockheed Martin since 2011. I think I might k ow a little bit about composite aircraft construction. My comment stands as it was. You will never see what you are hoping for. Aviation will never be cheap especially if there are turbine engines involved. From an insider I can say that for certain.
