Curry had the 3rd most drives in the conference finals behind Harden and LeBron but only got 2 FT off those drives. Had a total of 0 FT the last two games. This dude just doesn't get calls despite the numerous contact he draws. But he still had the 3rd most points off his drives because of his insane 61% efficiency.
Let alone the way he gets treated off-ball.

Not necessarily. You can get a lot of offenive rebounds while still shooting a high percentage. It just means you get more possessions.

It was the Coach's fault that they took all those 3's and lost the game. Sometimes in games teams have terrible offensive streaks and when that happens you have to go to the basics, mid range shots and down in the post. It was a terrible idea to not change the game plan when it wasn't working. They didn't make any adjustments + bad ref calls + Curry woke up offensively + Durant made some terrific shots at the stretch and it was game over.

Minato Namikaze true, no one really expected a record breaking Brick Show, but Rockets were really good down low, Tucker, Capella and even Harden were all great down low. They would've maintained the lead for a lot longer and could've won the game if they did this because down low even if you don't score there's a lot of contact and the free throw line helps putting up some numbers in the scoreboard

The big problem of the Rockets was that they won with the three ball all season long. They played with the stats.. as long as you hit 34% of your 3 points shoots you get more than 1 point per possession which statistically speaking helps you to win games. However this tyoe of IsoBall + 3 points kick outs is probabilities based and physical shape based.. they paid thz full price of this type of games. The second issue is that the Warriors have initiated this trend and D'Antony took it to the extreme with less ball movement and less exploitation of their sizes and capabilities to scire at the rim. If all these 3 points misses were scored from inside with a 50% success rate the Rockets would have won in less games than that and with Capela, Harden and Co. The proof that centering wins on 3 points shooting is hugely dangerous.. even more in the playoffs.. Thanks Coach Nick for these awesome analyses and deep investigations of wins and losses!

It also highlights how much CP3 was missed. Remember, everytime GSW made their trademark run in games 4 and 5, CP3 was the one who made the timely buckets and made the timely plays to keep the Rockets from losing their composure
This point is so relevant ... After the Warriors lost to the Cavs in 2016 they began to look less into their 3 point shooting and focused more on points via midrange or in the paint. You live by the Three you die by the Three.the warriors especially know this rule. When this strategy maybe effective in the regular season and took the rockets to the conference finals. Against an elite team like GSW who have one the of the best coaching staff in the league you have to always be prepared to do something different. The amount of weapons the GSW have on their bench is amazing. Players like Looney, Livingstone, Draymond although don't shoot the 3 well or often take their game to midrange or the paint. KD and Curry elite shooters can take that 3 point scare and turn it into points in the paint.

Curry low key had a great defensive series besides the “ankle breakers”. He played good defense and mostly contested well
Plus, a lot of people didn't see the 11 points curry scored back to back being crucial, when the game was tied and he brought the score up to double digits. After that, warriors offense started rolling.

In the late 3rd and early 4th quarter, during the peak of the 27 misses, a woman sitting near the commentator's table can be heard screaming "NOOOOOOOO!" whenever a 3-attempt clanks off the rim or backboard. As a Warrior's fan, those screams made my night while watching this live from home.

Despite being a Houston fan and a big James Harden, You can't take and miss that many threes and expect to win Against any team, especially the warriors. CP3 out and bad bad officiating aside. They missed 27 3s in a row. You're not winning like that.
The real culprit is Mike Dantoni.
The guy didn't take time outs to stop the GS onslaught, and he didn't switch to 2point drives and feeding Capela off of them. When you start missing threes you need to take a break and revert to the basics, you can't shoot your way back, especially in a game 7. At least CP3 would understand that.

Coach you should also do an analysis for the GSW. It's not that the Rockets won solely because of the bricks. In the second quarter, we played amazing defense, Curry was cooking and Kd finally played well in a 4th quarter. Don't overlook this factors.

I will agree with you but i will not hold steph accountable for that, he came back after a big injury , midway through the playoffs and (after 4 games against the pelicans) had to face one of the best teams of the decade , while the team had to readapt the game because the system had changed due to his absence

Coach, please don't indulge the crying Rockets fans with a "missed calls" video. The Rockets blew it all on their own by not trying to get a better shot than a 3. And if they need to get calls to win big games then maybe they didn't deserve to win anyway
Everyone's acting like the Warriors lived at the line. They had 14 FTA all game compared to the Rockets 22 FTA. Missed calls go both ways, and they did go both ways. I admit Golden State had two more glaring ones that I could see after slowed down replay (weren't as glaring in real time at game speed depending on the angle), but that's not enough to make up for what they lost by considering the Warriors should have shot a few more free throws too. Get over it and take the fucking L everyone. The Rockets played with fire by being so stubborn with their offense and got burned.
Not to mention James Harden's flopping reputation hurts him in the playoffs. Refs are too nervous to call every little overdramatic jerk from him when the stakes are higher because he does it unprompted too often. So if they don't have a great view they can't rely on reading his reaction since he reacts to nothing so much. He's the man who has cried wolf too many times to be taken seriously. Player reputations with the refs can be costly. I have no sympathy for serial floppers in any sport.
