"Nineteen Hundred & Eighty Five" is a jammin' banger from the same album as Band on the Run.
Paul McCartney is a musical genius.
Peace brother.
I think Paul would be the most successful. Band on the Run is my favorite Wings song.😁
A great rare gem from the Wings, especially if you’re into comic book superheroes is the song “Magneto and Titanium man”. Very fun, very catchy.
I forgot about this song. Love it! ❤️ I'm not one of those old people. I love the music from my youth 60s,70s. Best music ever.
McCartney and Harrison were equally gifted in their solo endeavors.
As was Lennon
I really love this song, a real rocker, great lyrics and guitar sound. Those were the days. 🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸👍
You must do the classic rock radio staple - a particular live version of MAYBE I'M AMAZED! Unbelievable!
definitely the LIVE version of Maybe I'm Amazed.
Paul had it together and he was the most cohesive with his career ,he kept it together, a workaholic with touring and making albums that sold millions and his musical career was the most successful of all 4 ..Ringo had a right good successful acting career also and a popular musical career as well .George had the best album of all the solo albums,, All Things Must Pass ,,but touring a lot did not work out very good for him ..John was doing great and by 1975 and record sales were great ,he just gave up making music so as to take care of his youngest son and five years later by 1980 ,he decided to make an album and died the same year . They all were very successful after the break up of The Beatles ..
That melody in McCartney's vocal in the chorus!
timeless rocker.

My all-time favorite from McCartney and Wings and I can see you're loving it too, Biz. The song was famously banned by the BBC when it was released in '72, claiming that the "shlyrics" were too sexually suggestive. I'm sure that Paul would have easily been the most successful if the Beatles never got together. The guy was and still is a hit machine. Throughout his life, he's absorbed every kind of popular music that's around, and used those influences to produce some of the greatest songs ever. "Helen Wheels", "Junior's Farm", "Give Ireland Back to the Irish", "Jet", "Too Many People", "Venus and Mars (Rock Show)", "Getting Closer", "Mull of Kintyre", "Maybe I'm Amazed", there's so many.
I thougt it was banned because the BBC assumed it was about drugs
@@bobcorbin3294 A bit of both, Bob, but I think the BBC was more upset about the sexual aspect of it. Here's some info from the song's wiki - "In the UK, the song was banned by the BBC for its sexually suggestive lyrical content. The BBC also assumed that the title phrase, "We're gonna get hi, hi, hi" was a drug reference. The specific lyrics objected to is the apparent phrase "get you ready for my body gun"; McCartney has said that the correct lyrics are "get you ready for my polygon", an abstract image, and later said, "The BBC got some of the words wrong. But I suppose it is a bit of a dirty song if sex is dirty and naughty. I was in a sensuous mood in Spain when I wrote it." Paul refers back to the song when it's played for a live audience-"Yeah, well, the great laugh is when we go live, it makes a great announcement. You can say "This one was banned!" and everyone goes "Hooray!" The audience loves it. Everyone’s a bit anti-all-that-banning, all that censorship."
@@Chris-xh9oj Yes, and Lennon was just the opposite. It must have been hard for the others to have to keep up with Paul's enthusiasm for the next Beatles record, and the next, and the next, once they had already become superstars.
@@KennyY-bh3zl Cool !By the way I Live just a couple of miles away from the real(Curly Putnam)Juniors Farm in Lebanon TN
@@bobcorbin3294 Wow, that's where the band stayed when they recorded Junior's Farm. I wouldn't be surprised if Paul toyed with the idea of calling the song "Curly's Farm". The song is another of my favorite Macca rockers. Legendary bluegrass fiddle player Vassar Clements, who's played with everyone from Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and the Dead, also plays on the record with Wings.
BIZ! Haven't been on CZcams for several days because I'm scrambling so hard for work, but it's fun to be back and I'm so glad you did this. I know that I suggested this one earlier but hopefully enough other people said it that you decided to react to it.
Anyway I'm just getting ready to listen to it, and I can already say based on your initial comment that if you like this, which I hope you will, also check out Junior's Farm from about this same era. It's just a fun rocking song.
It's got poker-playing references and all kinds of stuff, but because it's Paul McCartney, of course it is whimsical as fuck. 😂
Welcome back
You were spot on with your early seventies vibe analysis, 1972 to be exact.
This was released as a double A-side single with
"C Moon" being the B-side.
This song rocked back in the day and I always loved the guitar work on this one.
You can bet your ass that in 72 was getting quite High High High on a regular basis and wouldn't be surprised if he still occasionally indulges.
This guy loved his marijuana for decades !
Check out his classic Beatles song from their iconic 1966 Lp "Revolver"
"Got To Get You Into My Life". Everyone thought that it was a Motown inspired love song but it was actually about his love of marijuana. This is the album before "Sgt Peppers" and it's so damn quirky. John and George were already immersed in LSD already and they may have gotten Ringo on board by this point.
Paul was afraid of it and didn't try it until they were recording "Pepper". He stated that he was afraid that if he took it that he might be like Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz where he couldn't get back home again. His exact quote was
"I was quite terrified by that prospect while John was quite intrigued by that prospect". Probably my all time favorite Beatle quote and was so Paul and definitely so John. In 1966
" Revolver was soaked in marijuana and LSD and the public had not a clue what the hell was going on.
Ringo was even singing a song about a "Yellow Submarine" Hilarious !
Definitely my favorite Beatles album.
Peace ❤
Next song from wings? Maybe "Helen Wheels". A catchy song about a Land Rover lol.
Band on the Run
My favorite Wings song
It’s Great !
Let Me Roll It is a great one from Wings. ✌️
Man, you ain’t lettin’ up tonight. You’re ROCKIN’ now!
🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
"Jet" is my favorite. "Jet" and "Mrs Vanderbilt" … oh yes and add "Band On The Run" to that list …………… and "Live And Let Die" … and "Give Ireland Back To The Irish". And add "Mull Of Kintyre" as a bonus.
Let me roll it ( Wings )
Check out “Venus and Mars/Rock Show “
Listen to what the man says- great Wings song. Pretty cool nostalgic video too.
Paul has longevity,John probably was the most impactful !But I think George had the best solo career over all! He also had the Traveling Wilburys supergroup.Ringo has some great stuff too! Check out Ringo's song No No No. It always makes my laugh
What a fun song! The party is on! Yeah even though I'm seeing this on a Monday at 9 am:) I think Paul is the man! Then concert "Rock Show" DVD is a must have for the collection! Pure Fire!
Do LIVE AND LET DIE from the 007 movie!
Love the Beatles and love all of their solo work never got to see John or George live but I've seen Paul and Ringo 3times each . At Paul's it was so surreal I felt like I had to be kicked or pinched to come back to my body . Seen 2 different line ups of Ringos All stars which are so fun and cool seeing all the other rockers and the round robin of old hit tunes and cool and funny stories from all
Wings rocking hard!
Just because we're old We Were Young what especially in the seventies highest have been a rock and roller forever but you have to listen to Motown I hardly see anybody reacting I love Marvin Gaye he was a prophet
Well it’s because most of us already heard a lot of the Motown songs growing up… so that’s probably why. I heard the popular ones but I’ll do some digging
Great track! Play either Junior's farm, Jet, Helen wheels or Goodnight tonight next.
great choice!
PAUL McCARTNEY is documented as the MOST COMMERCIALLY SUCCESSFUL ROCK STAR IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF POPULAR MUSIC!
You can't go wrong with Wings Greatest! Listen to Junior's Farm to keep the rockin' tracks going.
Ok Biz!! I comment on most of your reactions! You asked. React to the complete albums of Venus and Mars and Band on the Run!! Both are the best of Paul McCartney and Wings! But if you are going to pick and choose and if you LOVE A KILLER BASS LINE. Then Mrs. Vanderbilt is the ONE Bro!!!! You will LOVE IT!!!!
My favorite Wings song is Let me roll it!!!!
No one might be interested, but I love to mention that I listen to my music on a pair of early seventies Sansui SP 2500 speakers. Each one has a 12 inch vented woofer, two midrange and two horn tweeters. They really add to the experience!!
This is a little more rocking live
Fun song!
Paul McCartney would be the greatest artist. They were all great but McCartney is a musical genius and a perfectionist.
This song was banned from radio by a number of stations. "HiHiHi" drug ref. "and like a rabbit gonna grab it" sex. Yup, not on our station.
ya made a great point
This is a tune! 🌟
Do Venus and Mars/Rock Show
Check out the live version on "Wings Over America" it's red hot.
OK was that a WHAT IF QUESTION as if they never met but had their own bands ? I don't want to erase my first reply ,it took a bit of energy to type it up.. I think Paul wins as the most successful, just look at the consensus of comments but Ringo as being still alive is just as successful but in a different way ..
It was a what if question
Music keeps you young
This song was banned in podunk towns across America because they were sure it was all about drugs. They often played the b-side, "C Moon", instead.
If they all had started out solo, I'd have to give it to Paul, even though John is my fav. Paul would have been 'poppy' and 'mainstream' enough to break thru.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Juniors Farm❤
If you haven't already done Jet by Wings, check it out. I think you'll like it!
Do C Moon next!
❤️🎵❤️🎵
So everyone has their own taste. All are great and have their own unique style, but Paul was the most successful. Even as Beatles, he wrote the most big hits (although all songs from him were shared writing "Lennon/McCartney"). But as solo artists, Paul stood out, note the following:
42 Singles on the Billboard Hot 100 (Lennon next with 17)
22 Top Ten Singles (Ringo and John next with 8, Harrison with 6)
9 Number One Singles (George next with 3, Ringo and John with 2)
So I guess it's about how you judge the most successful, but hard to argue with the numbers. Note that John died young, so there's that, but Paul was already way ahead on Numbers.
this song was banned from radio en TV cos of the sex en drug so his nex song was Mary had a litle lam HIHIHI ....still the best song of Paul ..
❤😊
I was 14.....
Paul had the most commercial hits as a solo artist and with Wings. But as I've said before, John's solo songs are equally good and more meaningful.
Check out Maybe I'm Amazed.
Paul is well known for his love of weed. High, high, high!
Paul would’ve been the most successful because his songs were always the most commercial ones.
I'll tell you what happens ,they stop listening to music, last words, turn that down,or they don't keep up with new stuff,or different music...
Just think how DELUSIONAL people are going to think this generation is!
I know this is going to sound crazy but I liked Wings better than the Beatles. If you are going to buy a couple Wings albums. They MUST be Venus and Mars and Band on The Run
I never heard anyone else say out loud what I’ve so often thought!
One would think it also would have stopped producing any more racists.
But no. Ugh.
Hmmmm.... seems like you don't know the old people who DID listen to this Sh*t. And answer...Paul's band would still be the top....weird, but bet ringo's would be #2
