Thank you! I was missing the Java.Exe file path in the .bat file. Works perfectly now!
Forge installer may error if you have files in the directory already. In that case just make sure your directory is empty, use forge installer, then copy over the RLCraft zip file contents. Good video. I was trying to use Java 17. If you are bringing over a single player save, dont forget to set the server seed to the same seed as your save.

Hi! Tysm for the video! But I am encountering troubles trying to start the server, I was able to go through all the things that you did and when I try to start up the server it loads in and it crashes. The CMD said this "The state engine was in incorrect state CONSTRUCTING and forced in to SEVER_STOPPED. Errors may have been discarded".
Is there a reason RL Craft doesnt include those server bat files? Seem every other mod server mod pack ive used does, seems like annoying extra steps.
Any insight as to why I can't connect to a 1.12.2 forge server as opposed to the latest or even a vanilla server with the same IP/port combo? This is before even setting up the mods. I can connect an query/connect vanilla and 1.19.2 Forge fine, but 1.12.2 not so much.
is there any recommended rlcraft smps other than crafter lands server? im in late game in crafters land, and its kinda board in late game. i like the early game better. and my pc is too shit to run a single player world

on my PC i have no problems. But on hosting server does not want to start with "content tweaker" mod.
without this mod, there is no recipe for many items in the game.

After starting the start.bat file with the eula set to true, everything loads, except minecraft. Have I missed something?
my problem is in the batch file trying to increase the allocated RAM
etc... -server -Xmx12G -Xms6G -jar server.jar pause
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xms256M -Xmx6G
no matter the allocated amount it will always default to max 6Gigs

Hi! really solid tutorial. I got my server up and running with in a couple of minuets just by following this guide, but I have a problem. Me and my friends can hit mobs when they are far away but we cant attack mobs when they are close. do you know any fix for this?
hey man, I was using a hosting service to make a server with friends and I could not, for the life of me, figure out why it wouldn't start. Who would've known that it was because the hosting service set it to Java 17 so it kept giving an error. I changed it to Java 8 and it started without issue. I just wanted to say thank you for helping me with my problem because damn I was about to go crazy trying to fix it.
Does rlcraft/forge have issues running within a VM? I havent been able to get the batch file to stop crashing despite having it seemingly configured properly.

started a server for me and a friend and got everything up in running and I have massive dysync withe mobs and other players to the point everything is just tp around this makes the game very unplayable tried so many thing but left stumped.

when i was making a rlcraft server I did everything and made a server and even got as far as getting my friends to join but when we're all in the server none of the mods are in there besides thirst bar, heat, and cold circle, trees look different and a few other mods but not the majority of them. no bad mobs, no rocks, no cool structures, and I can't break the flint into flint shards. everything works in single player

i cant add a new text document because thats just not an option and i tried downloading notepad and text view but tehy still dont pop up when i scroll over new all it says is new folder or shorcut or compressed file how do i fix. also there is no start.bat folder its literally just not there pls help yeah so just to make sure i deleted everything and restarted my pc and rewatched ther video and i cant make a start.bat command because there is no text document option when i hover over new in the server folder

Is there a particular reason that my start.bat would start running and shortly after it starts its line of codes it opens up a java runtime as well and they are legit the exact same lines of codes at the same time. Every other time I host a server I only need the CMD file.
You have to include nogui in your batch script I believe in order for the regular Java runtime to go away

does someone have the requirements of the PC of the host? i wanted to make a private server to play with friends, not using aternos since it is really laggy and has limited ammount of ram to use

it took me 3 hours just to diagnose that I misspelled server as "serevr"...
where did you get the rlcraft server folder? 0:55 you never mentioned how to make this?

for some reason when i spawn in i can see coordinates in the debug menu and I think some mods arent loaded. Any reason why this is happening?
rlcraft makes it so you can't see coords in debug

I made it to 4:50 but as soon as I started the start.bat file and it opened CMD and it just said
"Error: missing `server' JVM at `C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_341\bin\server\jvm.dll'.
Please install or use the JRE or JDK that contains these missing components."

Install that, and make the file path “C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_341\bin\java.exe

I don't have a start.bat folder
im having problems. my problem is that when i run it, it shows the following:
'"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_333\bin\"' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
im using windows 10, if that helps
found the fix. For windows 10 users, this is the command that you should have on your start.bat file:
java -Xmx6G -jar server.jar
PAUSE
saying Java takes the latest Java to your OS, it looks to me like you had an extra ‘‘ in your start.bat script so it wasn’t finding it- or you have a different version of Java then the one I specified
@@PsyvexOfficial the version I'm using is windows 10 so it may be differ depending on the version of the OS. windows 11 may require you to search for java, but windows 10 doesn't.
I also use windows 10, and I get the error *A problem occurred running the Server launcher.java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException*
I believe that this has to do with the fact that windows defaults to jdk18. (jdk is in the error message multiple times) The code to specify which version to use in the video doesn't work and neither does *java -Xmx6G -jar server.jar*

I deleted jdk18 and it worked. Still inconvenient.
In the file I created, start.bat closes itself before the world is created. How can i fix that ?

You can edit the .json settings in the mod configs, I would recommend doing thorough research beforehand.
so what if hypothetically what if the start.bat opens then immediately closes?
I had to use a different browser to download java, if that isnt it then check your java address. When I copied mine into the .bat it did not put the \bin\ into the text

if you get a weird load up screen when you join the server update your version of rlcraft that will fix it
I'm having the load up issue so I was wondering what you mean by update rlcraft since the tutorial uses the latest version of rl.
my launcher was on the older version of rlcraft when the server was on the new version so i just had to update my rlcraft would you mind telling me what your words on the screen are if updating your rlcraft doesn't work

Yeah, I think there’s a jump cut after where I hit space to cause the batch file to start running again.

not that this will help with the late response but. if you open the cmd window and type "op username" that should do the trick
BTW your server LAGG eventually if you don't add nogui to your start bat (behind server.jar).
This missing word made my local server lagg like if i had 1000 ping.
Yeah adding nogui is fairly important so it doesn’t open up the Minecraft server as well just the batch file. :)

start.bat just straight up doesn't load up for me. I double-click it over and over and nothing happens. I restarted my PC, I deleted everything and rewatched the video. Nothing works. I was hoping this tutorial would help me but apparently not. I was really hoping to play with my friend and if someone could figure out what I'm doing wrong I would be incredibly thankful. Instead of playing with my friend I just wasted both of our times and sanities for over an hour.
i had the same problem but it was because i had the forge file that i renamed to 'server.jar' but when i checked it, it had 'server.jar.jar' if you remove the .jar in the name as the file is already .jar it should world.
I also had the same problem. After you make sure that your server.jar file is named "server.jar" and not "server.jar.jar" then go figure out what java file you have currently. The start.bat file won't work if the code running within it is utilizing the wrong java file. To fix this, go to This PC>Local Disk (C:)>Program Files>Java then find which java file you have (he shows this process in the video at 3:48). Then change the code to use the file that you have, for me it was:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_333\bin\java.exe" -server -Xmx6000M -Xms6000M -jar server.jar pause
(the main part you have to change is the numbers in the jre1.8.0_333 portion to whatever you have, but I suggest trying to download the latest one that you can and using that) Then continue as usual, create it into a start.bat file and it should work.
