I use Aspen wood shavings. You can also use pine shavings, but I just feel like pine is lighter which makes is blow out of the cage and stick to things more. But both are appropriate choices!
I got mine she’s now a year but she would slip threw a dog cage because I had to wait two day to get my cage but she was nuts had to sleep with the door shut and find her all over the please lol
Depends on their size. Ferret nation cages are rated for 6 month chinchillas or older. But most chinchilla will probably be fine before then. Bunny is about the same age in this video however she is a larger chinchilla. If you are getting them from a breeder, you can ask for their recommendation. Just know that chinchillas are liquids and can fit through a much smaller space than you would think. So if there is any concern I would escape proof your cage.
