I haven't watched the video yet because I'm going to sign up to Patreon just to watch the extended cut but wanted to comment this. I've watched a couple of Paulie B's Walkie-Talkie videos and when I saw this on Mariano's instagram story I was so happy for him. Mariano and I have been childhood friends (since we were 9 or 10) and have stayed in contact as best as possible since we went our separate ways. Mariano is one of those people I hold very near to my heart. An amazing photographer and an even better friend and human being. I am so happy he is getting this exposure because he deserves a lot more recognition than what he currently has. He's put his life on the line at times to record moments of history for the world to see. I am constantly in awe at the work he puts out. He's a pretty good soccer player too lol. Please give this man his flowers! He deserves it. Just felt like I needed to say that, enjoy the video!
❤️❤️❤️❤️ LY dawg!
Mariano is easily one of the nicest and approachable people out on the streets. Aside from his incredible photos, I love his attitude and willingness to share with the community!
he’s missed in StL
Thank you so much ❤️
"talk to yourself as you're shooting" is great advice, it really makes you get away from your self doubting mind of taking the photo or not. If you don't have an idea of what to talkabout just sing song lyrics.
Also thank you Paulie for showing us more great photographers!
I did not know this talented photographer until now. His photos are simply great. Mariano is also an intelligent guy.
Totally agree with Mariano: there’s a lot for street photographers to learn from great works of photojournalism. You have the same challenges of finding that decisive moment and making split second decisions about composition, but sometimes with the added challenge of dodging bullets while doing it.
Very nice talk towards the end. I think I take myself too seriously. I know that I am not good enough to be remembered or recognize on a large scale. I want to really accept that and bring back the passion without depression. I'm too hard on myself. I'm just a hobbyist. I get too caught up in thinking I have to be great or be nothing at all.
Just try and be present and enjoy!
Would love a photo book of maybe more of Marianos photo journalism type work. His work is so captivating.
Another talented NYC Street Photographer featured by Pauli B.
I really love this channel and can't get enough.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Keep them coming !!!
Great to see Mariano in the series... he's a great photographer and a really nice guy!
Best ep by far. This guy is so sick, humble, and talented. Doing it for all the right reasons. Refreshing to watch this one.
Thank you !
@@mariano0105I’ll be your first subscriber, Mariano! Even if you don’t post anything, I got you! Hahaha
Mariano has the right positive mindset. It's hardly ever talked about but street photography is a hobby and 99% of us are consumers of it, and thus we spend money on it. Trying to make money off of it is just like people trying to make it big in Hollywood. It's not impossible, but it's close to it. Except I think it may be even harder in street photography because nobody wants to pay money to see some photos when it's free all over the internet.
Shoutout Miami 🔥
Wade-county 🤫
I’m just beginning as a photographer and I really think these videos help me out with about how you look at things and interpret things. Anything can be a perfect picture and have a story and that’s what I’ve come to the realization to by watching these videos they’re great! Thank you!!
Just play around and find out what works best for you - anything and everything can be a good picture but it’s hard to figure out how it will be appealing.
such a chill and cool guy, love it
Such an addicting series. Great perspective where the audio is just as appealing to listen to as the visual is to look at. Keep up the work
Loved this episode. Mariano’s photography shows real life that you can clearly see.
Thank you !
Talent. Straight up.
Thank you!
You're most welcome.
Mariano is a great guy and a great photographer. Was an honor to run into him a few times out there. Hey Mariano!
Thank you Wes! Haven’t ran into you in a very long time! Hope all is well!
I really enjoy it when there’s a strong mix of showing photos that we watch them take while you film vs portfolio shots.
Nice Jimi Hendrix ~ Electric Lady Studios , T-shirt
Best episode yet. This guy seems chill, has the skills and shares a lot of important insights!
Thankssss 🤙🏽😋
Yet another photographer that I've been sleeping on... thanks for sharing Mariano's story Paulie!
This is the realest walkie talkie yet, instant follow to this dude, thanks for speaking your heart ❤
fire walkie talkie, top 3 for sure
Thank you so much ❤️☺️
Great work Mariano.
Bravo really good words especially in the end!
He reminds me of someone famous, the voice I think, I can't wrap my head around this
Really enjoyed this video, liked Mariano and his work, very powerful images. I liked his ethos and his thought process around the whole thing of photography. Thanks Paulie B another great film.
His work is on another level, brilliant interview and video!
Thank you so much ! Appreciate it immensely
Love the diversity of the work and the approach.

Amazing work Mariano!
Getting some strong Mark Cohen vibes in some of those flash shots, which is fantastic.
😬😅🫣
Well done, thanks for sharing Mariano's story.
Best channel in CZcams. Thanks for your work Paulie B

New walkie talkie 🙏🏼
It's gonna be a good day 🎉🎉
been watching this since augie made it on here, these are so good. that one with Ribsy was dope too, looking forward to wa tching this one
Very honest, very aware of what and how he does, one of the few who found himself in street photography and did not get lost in it. In this context, you are similar, Mr. Paulie B
Thank you!!
great interview paulie and responses from Mariano
This was really interesting, he is super humble and nice. Loved the energy!
so rad. Thanks for sharing this. Mariano seems super cool. I've been to colombia as well in 2021 and recognized I'm not a conflict photographer.:) So good you captured it.
Another Gem.
Another nice one! Totaly in Love with the walkie talkie episodes. Would Love to have someone in Germany doing it.
Great episode! I‘m waiting for one with Billydee🙏🏻
9.26 photographing the photographers.
What a nice guy, Mariano seems.
😊😊
Great life lessons on continuously improving. Really enjoyed this video. It was hard to tell if he was shooting 28 or 35. I like the use of flash, but it does tend to rub people the wrong way, especially in Detroit.
YIPPIE!!!
13:43 - I'm right there with yah. I personally dont know what to do. It's very overwhelming and kind of stressful trying to think of what I should do with all the photos
we all struggle with that … the thought of wanting to do something with your work start from very a early stage but the execution part is the hardest since you gotta your own critic
Was just binge watching your page and now a new video 👀
Always great episodes !
Keep doing your thing bro! dope pics@@mariano0105
Excellent 👌🏻
miami in the house !
I wish I could use gifs for this one
🔥🔥🔥

Thank you so much !!
@@mariano0105 🍻 I’m gonna be following your work now 🤓 keep it up!
💯💯💯
14:25 what a look !!!
Dale Mariano
Nice
This is a great series, but it seems to be a prerequisite of owning a Leica to be a street photographer in New York lol
wym this is the first leica walkie talkie in over 2.5 months
@@PaulieB Not complaining about the episode at all, they're always fantastic. It's more a comment on the majority of street photographers in NY seem to be Leica owners :)
Oh fuck a new walkie talkie
damn he had gotten some great pictures
Thank you!
I hope to see a documentery on Netflix of you
By the end of the video Mariano talks about a community in NYC. How can you find these people, or meet street photographers besides randomly bumping into each other while shooting out in the streets? :) I just moved here and would love to meet new people that share the same passion for documenting life and would maybe exchange some experience, tips etc.
Not first
What's the flash he s using? looks very portable
It’s some random Pentax flash I found … it just says Pentax
I watched some episodes and realised that lots of NY Street photographers use summicron 35 V2 7 elements.
I think this guy is more of a photojournalist than he realizes
What FL was he shooting, 28??
📷👍🏻
I saw u guys at that Saturday in the afternoon, I was about to say hi but you guys walk too fast lol
Letting film canastas mounting up were traits of Winogrand and Maier.
Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
😬😅🫣
Nice to see a guy doing the work and has been doing the work and not just some trendy kid.
Agree
..@5:19 #mademyday
😋🤙🏽
Another one with leica with black and white film. Seriously, aren't there any other good set-ups besides this one?
It’s digital
Also preference.
first!!
