  • Redisher Wood is one of the best examples of ancient woodland in the Borough of Bury. There has been continuous tree cover on the site since at least 1600 and probably since the last ice age.

    Thank you for posting this. I grew up in Greenmount, on Byron Rd and very often went fishing in, what I remeber to be three lodges. The middle one was very good for Perch from what I remember but then the dam/sluice gate rusted away and it drained almost completely. The top lodge, much bigger, wasn't so good despite the amount of minnows but the outflow in front of the bottom dam was good for trout - who would have thought it.

    This may be a big ask but I don't suppose you have the coordinates for the waterfall. I'm an amateur photographer and I'd like to take a look at this, it looks stunning..
