- hey guys so here is a closer look at installing a 12th gen cpu
steps
located tabs and triangle on cpu
press lever and release the first clip
now pull back on second lever
install cpu by holding the cpu on the sides , not top and bottom
place cpu in gently . do not drop it in
then slowly lower the 2nd lever , the cover will pop off now . thats ok
now ensure the first lever clips over the top of the 2nd lever's tab
then just pull the first leevr down and push it under the securing tab
thats it
cpu installed
When they say it pop up, they didn’t lie it scared me 😂
It cut my finger 😂 when I did it for my i5 13600kf
Thanks I was scared of applying pressure in the closing 😂
all g buddy... glad u did it
This comment saved me, glad im not alone and I finally did it, too.
Thank you bro I never thought you could just instantaneously break out in a sweat from stress
😭 same. I have been searching videos for 10 mins trying to figure out if what happened was normal.
Did you not get manual with your mobo?
Bro same
It popped off like an m1 garand clip
lol true dat mate
Thank you so much for stuck for an hour
Thank you so much, youre the only one i could find that show the arrow is on that plastic plate :)
thanks ..yes its very obvious too... cuz so important to look for these indicators ..it helps to ensure u don't make the mistake..the last thing u need is to bend the pins on mobo and game over
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ it's alittle stupid, cause there should be arrow below the plastic, too
@@Jaburu yes there usually is
@@Jaburu Isn't there? Users...
@@currentuser1219 at least on my mainboard I couldn't find any. not when the socket is open
Ok as I was watching, i swear I noticed the cpu isnt fully seated, and i check the comments and youve pointed it out xD I cringed so hard as you pushed the lever down
yes ur 100% right I was really lucky it was only 1mm out so it literally just jumped in
@@user-mk4or5yu9r 1) make sure arrow on the bottom right of cpu is at the correct corner (usually the corner will have a marking of some sort like an arrow as well)
2) gently drop cpu in socket making sure that the alignment keys are in the alignment notch.
3) dont put any force, just gently wiggle cpu to check that its fully seated
And thats it
Yes 💯, I was dying when I saw him closing it!!
@danielhenderson7050 lol luckily it was so close it didnt affect anything..its that 1 in a million lucky mistake

Oh thank fuck. I thought my cpu was dead since the cover wouldn’t work!
how do u mean
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ my cover wouldn't go back on the cpu, so i thought a pin may be broken or something. but then i realised it's normal
THANK YOU OMG I WAS SOOOOO SCARED
it is at first but as long as u align everything correctly u will be fine
I took that plastic cover off, it didn't pop off and scare me.
did it work properly after that? It sayed take the cover off and even was in manual on my mobo. So i did. It made weird noise so iam scared AF for completion. (b760 - gigabyte)
it will be ok.. u can always test before u complete build
UPDATE: it works my wife’s brother is grinding fortnite already 😃 thanks 4 the help guys. I want to leave it here if someone gonna stress as i did in the future.
The land grid array from intel has the pins on the socket and the cpu has the holes
well there's no holes on cpu just contact plates... and the pins from socket make the connection
ye for sure be careful of course...
OK GUYS I REALLY WANTED TO POINT THIS OUT .
AT ABOUT 37SECONDS IN, JUST BEFORE I CLAMP DOWN THE CPU ..LOOK AT THE CPU CAREFULLY, IT ISNT 100% SEATED PROPERLY... DO NOT DO THAT , THAT SLIGHT CLICK U HERE WAS THE CPU FORCED INTO PLACE WITH THE LEVER... PLS DO NOT DO THAT
MAKE SURE YOUR CPU IS PROPERLY SEATED BEFORE YOU CLAMP IT DOWN ... U SHOULDNT HEAR ANY KIND OF NOISE APART FROM THE PINS CONNECTING , NO OTHER SOUNDS......
I WANTED TO CORRECT THIS SO U ALL UNDERSTAND , IT SHOULD BE SEATED 100% FIRST...pls learn from my mistakes and do not copy them ... that would be really silly..I do apologise for that... I don't want to give misleading information ... so pls correct it
Did it broke?
@@gaemer9720 no
@@gaemer9720 no it didn't. but i was also very lucky which is why i am stressing do not do what i did, its very important that u have it seated correctly , as u should not hear any type of noise when clamping down the cpu
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ I see thank you for pointing that out ^^
@@gaemer9720 u are most welcome , although it didnt ruin my cpu..AS I STATED i was very fortunate that i only had it misaligned by 1mm , so wen i clamped it down it just was forced into place, but i can honestly say no damage was caused to my cpu, and everything is finer and no bent pins whatsoever...BUT PLS TRY NOT TO MAKE THAT MISTAKE..i have installed tons of cpus since doing this video and never had an issue as i never made that mistake again ...so was never worried as well..i can admit wen i make a mistake ... and i hope ppl can learn from my mistakes
Im getting my parts tommorow and im stressing for every single detail even for the cpu instillation 😅
u will be ok buddy take your time and be in the moment lol
Did you bend any pins?? You can see it hadn’t fell into place yet, then you cranked on the lever and you can hear a pop 😮 Just curious lol
Nope ..ye I saw that..I was also lucky it was just a tad off so all good... but ofcourse u don't wanna do it that way...
hey I'm from philippines and I'm worried about the bending issue. this is my very first build. do you have any recommendations?
If u worry just use one of these ...or u dont have to but there are benefits to using it . I didn't use one for a year and no issues...just dont tighten your screws too tight and always use equal pressure in an x pattern
Tq bro
Lol dangerous to have this out as people might not make sure the cpu is properly seated
ye to a certain extent although 🤔 its kind of obvious it's suppose to be seated correctly and eventho mine wasn't it still clamped in perfectly... hence why pinned the comment ... but point taken thanks
Thank You Bro!
The plastic black lid piece that popped off scared the ***** out of me.
lol
@user-mk4or5yu9r lol it's to protect the pins buddy ..trust me if u ever bent pins u appreciate it
thanks mate, it worked for me perfectly
big thank you
Rip that cpu.
that's what I thought too but as stated previously ... I was extremely lucky that it was literally 1mm out and when I closed the socket it just slide into place ... and I was like omg...phew!!! or it could have been a very costly mistake ... but it would be the mobo that gets destroyed not the cpu... as it doesn't have any pins on it... but the mobo does ... I ended up finishing th entire build without any issues..but ofcourse never do what I did... smallest mistakes can be the worse
Thanks!!!!❤
most welcome bud
0:35 bro bumps it with his finger doesn't seem seated quite right!
yep ur right on the money , luckily it wasn't out enough to damage anything , the slight noise u hear is just the cpu slipping into place, its not something u wanna do, im just bery lucky it didnt cause any damage , but ofcourse do not do that
Hardware asmr
Be very careful guys!!! I thought I was careful when I put my CPU in and I bent like 5 pins and it didnt post.
I had to ship my new mobo off to ASUS to fix it. Luckily it was free.
i second that ... do important yo make sure its seated right...
do sorry to hear that happened to you bud..but i can honestly say i've done the same with older cpus 1151s and it's heartbreaking
That’s how my first board died. Had to go to a builder to have it installed
@@MrEveion ye sorry to hear I've made same mistake before too..lesson learned
ASUS made something nice 😊
thanks
Most welcome
That helped
holy fuck. I hope I didn‘t mess up. It felt soo wrong to push down the lever and maybe just waste 500$ like that 😨😨 Hope it‘ll work fine once i start the system 😂
ull be ok
No, you need a contact frame
u don't need it .but it's a good idea to have it
Will the 11th generation CPU be installed on this motherboard?
definitely not ... 11th gen is lga 1200 series 10th 11th gen are same ... 12th and 13th gen are lga 1700 series... so not it will not fit... u will see the difference immediately .. 12th gen is longer ...
Bro that wasn’t even seated all the way I about shit my self when you forced it in with the lever. That pop was so cringe
ye it was slightly sitting out on the bottom right I was just lucky that when I clamped it down it just pushed it in correctly without damaging any pins... lol..cringe bad... wen ì watched it again I was cringing too... cuz u shouldn't hear any noise
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ yeah it’s best to always give it a little wriggle to make sure it’s seated correctly. This hurt me haha
Ничего не понятно но очень интересно
still one pin damaged in my new mobo.
😭
how did u do that?? u must've not had the cpu seated correctly, did u make sure to try and move the cpu when seated , to ensure it is fitted perfectly
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ there are 4 groves .i had put it between them carefully but still one got damaged( as i showed it to seller) idk why they make it like this .should be other way of connecting processor to mobo . So fragile these pins are .
Is there a need to add thermal paste to CPU?
yes, 100% u must addd thermal paste because it cools the cpu ..keeps the temps low for efficiency ..without thermalnpaste, the cpu will get too hot and can crash and lag ... cpus aren't 100$ flat ..there's actually tiny ripples on the surface ..the themalpaste fills this and with the help of a cooler combined cools the cpu to good operating temps
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ I asked because it's like most PC Builders on CZcams don't add thermal paste to their CPU(Desktop CPUs). I only see thermal paste's been added to laptop CPUs
@desmondaddae-manu3882 I see.. but yes, thermal paste is a must...are u sure ur watching the right videos ... all desktop cpu need thermal paste or else it will overheat
Do not put thermal paste in between your mobo* and cpu you will be fucked. Only in between CPU and COOLER.
Is there any difference between the lga1200 and a lga1700 please answer🙏I really need to know
Yes massive . Completely different cpu sockets. From size to markings and overall look. U cannot install them vice versa... 1200 is smaller. 1700 is longer ... hence the distinguishing labels
Even if u tried to install a 1700 cpu to a 1200 mobo or cpu etc u would see immediately it won't work
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ thanks
@@thet-800go9 welcome, if your planning to build a pc , pls do more research, try top understand what parts are and what they do, before you start, and most importantly watch alot of building guides so u get more familiar with how to build an actual pc, becuz it can be a very costly mistake
Heh heh, i wasn’t the only one. Yay.
only one who did what?
trust me ur never the only one..that's why I like doing pc tips for beginners as even I did stupid things wen I first started building
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ i wasn’t the only one who had an out of body experience when the plate went down onto the cpu and made that awful noise lol.
@@Maoud2 lol heheh I know rightv
I'm a novice when did the cpu go pinless?
intell has always been painless its amd that had pins but now amd has gone pinles for am5
this seems to require a lot of force to push down at the end. Is that true??
did you just commit? am also getting this..
@@hunnaswaggins2985 I did. it seems okay.
good stuff mate
What about the 12th gen cpu bending issue? Is it solved yet?
I don't think so I think its why they created the corrector plate frame... have you seen those ..I did a short on it too
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ i have seen that video. But i am not sure how safe it is. I get weird thoughts that something may happen and it short circuits and causes fire in my pc while i am asleep. Intel suggests not to mod the socket. I hope they can fix it somehow. But chances are very low.
ye ofcourse intel say that..but usually it's ok I've never had an issue ever... I never used a plate corrector til recently... I always used a normal cooler like aio... and never had an issue..the issue isn't fire..its that the board and socket warp
What abou cpu bending in 1700 sockey
yes it's a reql thing so always use a cpu corrector frame
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ how to install that....?
@sunnysaxena6562 search my videos for watch this before installing corrector frame
Is it supposed to be hard to push the lever down? Mine was
there's tension
This is a CPU install, not a socket install. Silly...
Support intel 13th?
yes with simple.bios update can support up to 14th gen
Just install new PC but no display on monitor CPU fan is working GPU fan is working no display new pc
did u install a new cpu ..u might have to update bios
if ur using q
13th gen or 14th gen then u need to update bios
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ how do I update bios without display
@mayriamma4456 do i have a bios update button
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ yes flash bios button in rear io shield
You svrewed it up 😢
Nothing happened ... yes it didn't align perfectly but it was just in enuff that wen I clamped it down it simply pushed into place..no damage ..no issues ..works as intended
What motherboard you got ?
this was the msi z690 pro series mobo
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ to be able to power the pc on it needed a gpu correct ?
@jenniferr3965 no u can if u have a cpu with built in graphics like k model
@MIKEYZVLOGZ okay I'm running a 12400f is that still a problem
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ cause I can't power my pc on at all 😭
Am still scared... omg
same lol... how hard do you have to push?!
as long as u have the cpu seated right just commit its fine
just ensure u have the cpu seated right and just commit to it and it will be fine ... itmight feel like it's not right but it is
It is processor it is not cpu
cpu stands for central processing unit
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ s but you are not installed SMPS ram handdrisk and cooler fan inernation and external connections. If all the connections combilrd is called cpu. U right now installed just a processor.
@PREMKUMAR-qq6pk A processor (CPU) is the logic circuitry that responds to and processes the basic instructions that drive a computer. The CPU is seen as the main and most crucial integrated circuitry (IC) chip in a computer, as it is responsible for interpreting most of computers commands.... I'm sure u will find that most ppl refer to the processor as a cpu ... regardless of what is plugged in or not...
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ ok leave the topic because I am from India we call all combination of processor SMPS and etc are called as cpu and we call as processor we won't call as cpu
@PREMKUMAR-qq6pk fair enough ..if u watch any pc building video u will see everyone call it cpu ... but I understand what ur saying ... I appreciate the input .. and good to know that's how u refer to it.. something new I learnt
