DIY: Hydroponic Lettuce - Gravel Grow Medium for Sprouts - Part 1. Sow Seeds, Encourage Longer Roots
Experimenting a new approach to grow longer sprout roots to improve plant growth for the next stage. Recycled aquarium gravel seems like a good candidate as a grow medium. It doesn't encourage algae build up, doesn't entangle with roots, easy to clean and reset, and still zero soil.
Still using recycled and household materials: food container, paper towel, toothpick, chopstick, and tap water. (Plus pH adjuster.)
We'll see how this goes in the follow-up clip.
