      I used acrylic paint and spray paints. Then you can seal it with a clear poly finish if you’d like.

    So the Glowforge can't do color in wood, but can't it do color on metal engraving? I've seen in lightburn that color layers can be assigned and that even diode lasers can engrave color into some metals.

    • @85thandPine
      @85thandPine  Před 5 měsíci

      Glowforge doenst engrave color. You have to paint fill in. And it does not engrave metals. That is more of a fiber laser that would do that.

    • @Nosajjao

      Not sure about C02 lasers like the GF, but higher powered Diodes like the Ortur and Xtool ones can do color, using Lightburn of course. Only in metal though. @@85thandPine

      Depends on the material but most of the time I use gorilla wood glue, gorilla super glue or E6000 plus for tough jobs

      You can use a non toxic food safe finish such as Clark’s oil or something similar.

    What’s a Glow Forge?

    • @85thandPine
      @85thandPine  Před 9 měsíci +1

      It’s a laser cutting machine (desktop size) used for cutting and engraving various materials such as wood, acrylic and more. It can be used for hobbyists or for those that want to start a business selling their items.

  • @geauxracerx

      A great rule of thumb we like to use is shoot for 5-7x our material costs. Granted sometimes we have to do 3, but 5-7 is where we like to be. The reason we don;t necessarily say is because everyone uses different material for each project. Prices of material go up over the years. For example, birch is much more expensive per piece than when this video was released. Hope that helps.
