Puwexil is the reason I started watching speedruns and the reason I still am at this point. Great attitude, super good dude, and just great at explaining everything too.
My favorite line of the whole game is when Dekar says "My only love is my sword" and I think it's Guy who says out of the corner of his mouth: "If you ask me you should stay away from thoughts like that." I got my SNES in '96 and I got this game shortly thereafter. My mom would help middle school me with the puzzle parts but she dug the story, so she actually watched quite a bit of my first casual run.
I just beat Lufia 2 for the first time the other day, currently ancient cave diving… amazing game and stoked to see content still coming out for it on CZcams!
Customizable pets, in-game tool tips, elaborate-yet-intuitive equipment system, a whole rogue-like side dungeon, as well as the most gorgeous sprite work on the SNES-- easily the most underrated game of its day, and so ahead of its time! Glad to see it getting some love!
Yay! This game doesn't get enough love, as far as its main mode. This has been a lifelong favorite of mine! Thank you for showing us the Lufia 2 love ❤
Ive been looking for a fun speedrun to watch and ive seen alot lately, then i noticed out of the corner of my eye Puwexil doing my ALL TIME FAVORITE rpg of my child hood and now for the next 5 hours, even the most sinistral of happenings cant ruin my night
Its stats are just so, so bad though for the Tarantula fight, and Bomb Attack doesn't have the Anti-Insect property attacked to it so, it's pretty outclassed :(
Puwexil is awesome This game is awesome Best boss music in any game maybe ever Only bad part is the fact they wear masks which makes it annoying to listen to. Great commentary nonetheless great stuff
I always thought RPGs weren't accepted at marathons because most of them devolve into "run from town to dungeon to town, skip every normal encounter, throw consumables at bosses, repeat". EDIT: I almost forgot "mash through cutscenes, ignore NPCs, pause at 1-2 points to grind".
The main reason they're more rarely accepted is because they are overall way longer to complete than most speedruns. That's why you'll only see a few of them at other marathons, and why I particulary love RPG LB where it's all about rpg! On a side note, consumables are indeed very often pretty OP early game in a lot of rpg, making me often feel weird for never using them. Other instances I have right off the bat is FF7 and FF13 where the first act of each is basically grenade everything xD.

Same here. Wonderful runner and another fantastic watch.

I love supporting Puwexil, always a pleasure to watch

both puwexil and spike vegeta are the reasons for me getting into sgdq and rpg limit break
What a time! Always a pleasure to watch and listen when you play-you are the GOAT!
Yo puwexil you’re the best speed runner out there. Keep enjoying the RPGs
So glad I was able to donate this year during his run.
The man the myth the legendary Puwexil
That spider boss is the hardest fight in the game if you don't backtrack for the fire dagger
Cool run, thanks!
Puwexil is a mad man. Is there an rpg he doesn't competently speedrun?
I mean this facetiously of course, but speedrunning a game with an OST this good should be a crime.
Had this game as a child but my cartridge was messed up and the save never held. Great to see it run again.
Insect crush is effective in tarantula boss fight as well (Maxim/Guy can use it, it raises stats, and has bomb ip).
Its stats are just so, so bad though for the Tarantula fight, and Bomb Attack doesn't have the Anti-Insect property attacked to it so, it's pretty outclassed :(
4:24:55 That LEET crit!
Even with 4x EXP NG+ runs the game STILL took me like 15 to 20 hours and I still could NOT beat Gades the first time AT lv 30 to lv 35.
Gold gear has fire protection BTW for fire dragon. You sold them before that dungeon.😅
When the speakers can be smooth its just horrible ASMR
Triangle Strategy's sequel is Square Tactic.
lufia 2 💕
My favorite speed runner.

Why, with all the capture tech and upscaling products, does the game feed look so awful?
