It would be safer if you are either just over or just under 300 words. Stick to around 280 then you should be ok

For the word count is it 300 words for the task definition only or for the entire phase 1 task.

For each Grade it is different. Generally the word count is only for the Task definition. Gr10 is around 150 and gr 11 and 12 around 200 to 300
