Geoff played in England for Halifax RLFC and was a great favourite with the crowd at Thrum Hall, winning the Championship in 1986, the following year the former Sea Eagles and Wallabies legend Graham Eadie won the Lance Todd man of the match trophy for Halifax, beating St Helens in the Challenge Cup at Wembley, two of the Aussie greats to grace English Rugby League.
