I hate to tell you outside what ya displayed that I could see maybe a few of the caps and uniform shit is worth a couple of bucks. If I woulda spent nearly 6K like you did on that random bullshit my business partner woulda tried to kick the living shit out of me. You got had. Most of that shit you can get on E-Bay and amazon for peanuts. What I see maybe ya got a grand or $1,500 bucks if that.

The yellow diamond shaped patch that you said you had never seen is what was called a " ruptured duck" . People returning from WW2 were given them to sew on their uniforms to show that they were no longer in the service but still wearing their uniform because of the rationing of cloth/clothing. That way they could continue to wear the uniform until they were able to buy new civilian clothes...
Been selling military surplus for over a decade & I’d say you scored big time. You’ll probably make your money back in the first couple feet of that unit. Absolute gold mine!

Just in case no one else has answered, the gold eagle in the diamond shape on the uniform was laughingly called a "ruptured duck". It was given to returning soldiers at the end of WWII.

To amplify on your comment, short version, I understand that the Honorable Service Lapel Pin/Patch signified the wearer had been honorably discharged from military service. The problem was that so many men were returning from overseas duty who only had military clothing at their disposal. The patch indicated they were essentially civilians in uniform. This cut down on military police having to question every guy in uniform to determine whether they were AWOL or discharged.

I just finished your playlist for the $7k unit and I was glued to my screen to watch them all. Congrats on making $50k+ on that unit, you're well on your way again. I can't wait to see what comes out of this unit because it already looks like a contender to the 7k unit for profit. Good call on getting Grimes to handle a lot of the sales for this unit again and targetted ads for the online auction will help sales on this one to make sure it hits military buffs & collectors.
I hope my wife likes eating KD, because I won't feel like cooking until I'm done watching (I'm the cook for our home). Ha!

What can be exciting is when you find a piece that's been personalized by the original owner. My dad has a few WWII carbines that have carvings in the butts of crosses, names and kills. Puts you right in the moment.

All I can say is WOW! My husband served in Viet Nam in the United States Army as a Airborne Green Beret Medic, he is always reading on military history and I would bet that he would know what a whole lot of the things in this locker is. What a great find and God Bless our soldiers in the USA and around the world.... They all sacrificed a whole lot!

My husband's grandfather is VADM Bernard F. Roeder. His flagship was the USS Province, if I'm not mistaken.
Hubbys step-grandfather was VADM Paul D. Stroop, known to us commoners as P.D., P.D. Stroop. Granny Kathleen knew her type. Mad respect. Love that lady. She passed away in August 2016 at 100 yrs old, just shy of her 101st birthday.
Add to that, my grandfather was on CV67 what I wouldn't give for Memorabilia. My mom got tweaked and sold everything. 🥺😭
