- NRG has been one of the most dominant teams in Rocket League history, but they suddenly went from a top team to a team that gets regularly knocked out in groups after they lost at the Los Angeles Major. This video uses a new machine learning tool I've created to analyze playstyles, and I go over what has happened to their playstyle and their effectiveness over time.

He literally reads from a poorly written script, never looking at the camera or saying anything different or substantial. There's a reason he doesn't have subscribers. You & him are very similar. No substance, just vomiting out the same thing everyone else does in hopes of attaining even a small sliver of attention or notoriety. He (& yourself) appeal to children & those lacking any kind of higher knowledge or critical thinking.

I would appreciate if you showed us how they compare to other teams. For example how does SSG winning/losing graph look like? What makes them stand out? Are there any defensive teams that are making it work? Feels like a lot of unanswered questions

Exactly what I'm thinking. I'd wager many teams have similar looking losing charts, especially if the teams they lost to are the primary reason for it looking like that (e.g., if the winning team is very demo focused and successfully disrupted the losing team's rotations). Need a lot more data to draw any sorta conclusion imo, but it's interesting nonetheless
@@JohnJillky A conclusion can still be drawn that NRG has lost its superiority in attack. Their ultra offensive style is now being easily countered and exploited by other teams.
@@JohnJillky The conclusion is that they r a super team that isnt very super. They used to be the fastest and most mechanical. Now they r beat in their best category by most teams due to young players being faster and more mechanical.

Great video! As a recommendation, you have such an insane amount of charts and graphs and other info but it all comes at the viewer so quickly without really being able to process it. I'd love to see you take a little more time to explain what it all means because it seemed really interesting but it was impossible to really take in a lot of the information.

Great video. Very informative. 1 small suggestion would be to grab yourself a teleprompter so that when you are reading your script it looks like you are looking at the camera rather than to the side.

Yeah, that’s the biggest thing I noticed in editing. I took a look at prices for those, and I think I’ll just tape index cards under the camera for now 😅

I think a major part of it is also confidence, especially in Justin. He is so critical he cant seem to get into a flow state where he is just dominating like he used to.

Great content, would love a follow up video looking at how each of their individual play styles has changed over time. I felt like in the fall Justin was not his usual self and Garrett was returning to form after his performance at Worlds. I honestly feel like they can still be a top team in NA but it's going to take some grinding.

Very interesting analysis, cool shots (especially loved the overhead shots), and the charts are a great visual aid.
It would be very interesting to see such analysis on their opponents as well. Are the play-styles utilized against them when they lose the same? Or are they failing against different styles? (I imagine it's likely the latter making it more difficult to adjust correctly)
You show a change in the viability of their play-style, but seeing the other side of these matches may give an interesting insight into WHY this is happening. What changes did their opponents make to challenge their system?

Hey bro, banger video! One trick for you, I took a few classes on videography at UNI. Put your script your reading from above the camera instead of to the side. It is much harder to tell when you are looking away to the script when you do it like that. Kinda like how the news channels puts the script on a screen right behind / in the camera. Keep up the great work, your an underrated content creator! Great vid bro
Thanks for the tip. I think I need to put it on smaller paper too since the camera is pretty close in that small room. I looked into teleprompters, but doesn't make sense to spend that kind of money on equipment after one video.
@@mdogg95 You can get a cheaper teleprompter for around $150. It might not be the best quality but if it works, it works. 🤷

This is a really interesting video and analysis. I've been very interested lately in what sort of advanced analytics are being used in Rocket League, and I really like your tool. One thing though, it's pretty jarring and uncomfortable when we get the shots of you reading the script and you're not making eye contact with the camera. Other than that though, I loved the video, and I really want to use the PA graphs on my own games!

Can I use your program/API myself or is it made on a game to game basis?
Good analysis. My opinion is Squishy/Garrett don't have the mechanics to play a congruent playstyle so that's why it fails. When they succeed it's usually Garrett anchoring, Squishy 3rd manning and jstn full sending/attacking. Since jstn has the ability to beat 1 or 2 defenders and then take a 50, it opens up the offense for them. Garrett and squishy cant do that on a consistent basis so they have to play roles, which is why there's inconsistencies and gaps in their offense compared to fluid teams like moist, bds, gen g and falcons

I think that rather than them paying defensive means they lose, is that because the are loosing they have to play defensive

Yeah, I realized in editing that I was looking wayyy away from the camera even though the script was practically covering the lens. It’s a tight space, so I’ll see what I can do. Probably just have to use smaller words and memorize the lines.
