Hi Ben! You're absolutely right. Last summer was so hot in Estonia, that I was watering my roses 2-3 times/week per 10 liters/rose. It looks like this season will be the same. Currently, the soil is very dry and needs to be thoroughly watered.

Excellent video Ben! 👍🏽 I’ve been trying to gauge just how much water, my new David Austin bare root roses, need in their current locations. I now have eight new DA’s and six other types in containers. I’ve done the compost, Bio-tone, mulching, and I recently purchased the bases to conserve the water that drains out at the bottom. Powdery Mildew has hit three plants. But, I’ve begun with a systematic treatment.

I use a drip irrigation system for all of my roses. Water slowly drips directly into the soil and the roses keep more of it. Plus I can automate it, which will keep me out of the hot sun in the middle of summer.

@@anabareavega4734 roses will thrive in many different pH levels obviously the ideal is something hovering around 6.5 to 8 but adjustments can be made if your soil is heavily alkaline or acidic
They should never be allowed to dry out completely when the aim to get to them and wash them well before drying out takes place these moments of stress that will cause you to have black spot mould mildew and other stress related disease problems

@@the_gardenerbenmuchas gracias por tu rápida respuesta. Respecto al EC, lo controlas en tus cultivos?

Hi Ben, would you please share how hot your weather is? Mine is in zone 4, and have around 30' C those incoming days, remember you recommend to plant CPM in partly shade, my back yard usually has full sun above 8H, and side yard has about 3H direct sun from 10:30am to 1:30pm with some afternoon sun through fence, which one is a better spot for CPM, Thanks a lot。。。

Hi Of course I’m based in the south coast of the United Kingdom which is zone 8/9 Summer temperatures vary between the low twenties to the very early 30s
I have CPM planted in both partial shade and full sun it does well in both locations but I would say bloom life is much improved in partial shade so I would go with your second location that has three hours of sunshine per day

How about LOS, Eustacia Vye, Munstead Wood, boscobel, and Abraham Darcy? My front yard is also about 8H sun, but it's mostly the early morning sun and late afternoon one cause I had a big pine tree blocks the sun during noon, where should I plant each of them, front or back yard? The pre-order is coming very soon, and I need your opinion to arrange the locations, thanks a lot...
