I love the line "it's like you're in my tears". That's what grieving is like, a pain but also a blessing of memory. She's so wise to have transformed this sad loss into "I know I'm never alone" and then we know too. Your reactions to Angelina always bring me a fresh new thought!

She is a wonderful songwriter. It reminds me to her song what is Life. There's a phrase how important memories are for our life and with this song she show us how she manages sad feelings in a hopeful way. Your are right of her mind reflection and in my memories I see her sitting under the tree of life and creates the scenes of the official video. This video is full of symbols 🎶📹
Michal I think Angelina has written a masterpiece which will provide comfort for anyone who has lost a loved one. In a recent interview in People Magazine, Angelina said she has always been writing songs but now at age 15 she is ready to share them with the world. I have to think her upcoming album will be beyond remarkable.
This is the first version. It was completed before she signed with Republic, and it was this song that caused Republic to sign her. Because of that, this version is probably not under Republic's copyright, but Angelina's own label. Angie has been keeping a diary since she was 5 or 6, and her original songs have come from her notes in that diary, including this song.

100% agree with you. So refreshing to hear someone analyze the workings of the song instead of just ooh'ing and ahh'ing (which is not bad either but too many so called pros dont have what it takes to truly break down and analyze whats going on in a song & it becomes frustrating). I love Miki, she really knows her stuff.

Well, your reaction is almost as good as Angelina's performance, and that's really saying something. I always love your reactions to Angelina, and for me, this was your best one. In it's three versions, this song now has about 2.7M YT views, which is a small fraction of what I believe it should have. Many of us had great expectations for what Republic would do to advance Angelina's career, and I must admit I am disappointed at this time. I expected much more. But hope springs eternal, and hopefully, they have a great plan to enhance her exposure. I choose to embrace optimism because the alternative is a downer. So in the prophetic words of the wonderful Doris Day: "Que Sera Sera". Wishing you love and happiness Miki. 💕💕

Really sorry for the blocking you've experienced. Your reacting to this one is to the point and very much appreciated. CZcams's blocking algorhitms seems to be hitting very randomly. I've seen a lot of reactions to AJ videos, and the blocking of your video(s) compared to those makes no sense at all. When your video finally got through though, it's among the best I've seen.
Angelinas song is so mature and touching, as you mentioned. The official video (the third one!) is even more touching. That video is (partly) in the form of a flashback of her relation to her grandfather. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. In this video you'll meet Angelinas little sister (portraying a younger Angelina) and her uncle (portraying her grandfather), and I think that it really works.
Hi Mikki! I really enjoyed your lovely and insightful review. Specially like that you recognized Angelina's great songwriting here.
She's a very unique kind of teenager. She cares for things that maybe other children her age don't pay attention to. Her other original songs are very well written too: Oslo, Shield and What is Life.
Of course, this is a universal subject she's talking about, as you said but also in these times of pandemic, it can also relate to people being far apart from loved ones because of lockdowns, very limited travel, etc.
We are very excited as it seems she will be releasing a full album really soon, according to an interview she did with a Norwegian magazine 🎉💖

Thank you for your knowledgeable and in depth reaction. Angeline is a very gifted lyricist as well a composer and vocalist. Angelina is well beyond her years.
CZcams was asked to take the Live studio video down, then three hours later, they uploaded it again, then took it back down and reloaded it for good, all in about 8 hours, and many reactors had their reaction taken down each time. So you may have been part of that wackiness. I really appreciate not just the technical analysis, but also the emotional reaction... you are one of my favorite reactors despite you don't do as many reactions of Angelina as I would like... but I enjoy the other singers you react to... so thanks for your persistence.
Excellent analysis of Angelina's new song. The blocking by YT must be somewhat random. Some reactors have no problem even with few breaks. while others stop 10 times & get blocked. It makes no logical sense! Your comments are always on point & insightful, thanks for that.

@@keithserafy A VPN encrypts your internet traffic and disguises your online identity. This makes tracking and data stealing extremely difficult. Your location cannot be determined and you can even switch to another server in another country to "change" your location.
That's a nice analysis of the song writing and singing style! Yes it's difficult to equate the maturity of the song and delivery with this young person. Angelina has an empathy that is very rare, I feel that she learned many of life's lessons from her close relationship with her grandma, somehow she was able to understand and assimilate a life time's experience in a few short years. As you say, she is still young, and life will present hurdles for her to get over, it's good that there are so many "Angels" to watch out for her....

You explain every detail about the music such as the waves the ups and downs the high and low the pitch the rifts just to name few and you explain it in a explanatory way. I see the link you provided is the studio version - which IS nice and I prefer the audio from that version - but, especially given your thoughts beyond just technical musicianship, maybe you could provide the link to the latest version? It IS more of a "music video" and I'm not usually a fan BUT, in this case, the video is soooo well done - not at all the typical ""lookee what we can do" distracting approach of most music videos, this one is very much a visual allegory to the piece - VERY nicely done. I agree with many that it looks very like AJ and her grandmother probably had a LOT to do with the development and production - when I say "a LOT" I mean maybe they did it all. ... Even though Angelina is only 15 yrs. old. She has experienced 3 deaths in her life. Her 2 grandfather's passed away within 2 yrs. ago. And her D.J. friend, AVICCI, SUPPOSEDLY COMMITTED SUICIDE. So, she can sing with that depth of pain because she has experienced the these losses!!
She signed a contract last year, I believe it was so that could be it.

Angelina is not only mature in her voice but emotion and mind as well. We can see that in the lyrics of the songs she wrote, such as "Oslo", "What is Life", "Shield". And she often makes use of literary devices, such as symbolism and metaphors. The songs she covered are also influential. Words like "star", "moon", and "million" I suspect were influenced by the songs she covered.
Unfortunately we have lost quite too many reactors to CZcams's wild and seemed random blockage to certain artist's performances. I think most rising stars in the business welcome the exposure that CZcams provides as well as the education that you reactors impart on us fans in terms of understanding the difference between stardom and mediocrity. You are among the stars of reactors and I pray you stick around despite the gauntlets put in your path.
First time listener to you Miki, & firstly, I’m mightily impressed with your reaction style & your comprehensive knowledge which you pass on to us by your informative critique of the artist. Secondly, yes Angelina is superb & I love listening to her.
Miki, I do have a request of you. The is a young Soprano singer by the name of Amira Willighagen who won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine, without a single singing lesson. She taught herself by watching uTube videos of Opera singers such as Pavarotti. She commenced lessons soon after this win. Amira has since performed in some 13 countries & sung in at least 5 languages, & her concert performances have been to a packed auditorium supported by a full orchestra and backup singers.
Unlike some other wannabe opera singers who strain & possibly do damage when attempting the upper registers, Amira does so effortlessly, without strain & is never out of breath. Her powerful, Angelic voice is natural & she doesn’t try to sound older than her age. All her registers are beautifully connected.
I know this is a long post, but please bear with me.
You are probably an extremely busy reactor, but I would greatly appreciate you slotting her into your schedule & I offer the following performances for your consideration.
... O Mio Babbino Caro at age 10. The world renown conductor/ musician Andre Rieu invited Amira to sing at Maastricht to an audience of 15,000 who gave her a standing ovation.
... Nella Fantasia at age 12. ( the concert performance)
... Flower duet with Corlea Botha at age 13. This performance in particular shows what an incredible Soprano she is.
... Gabriella’s Song at age 14. ( again the concert performance)
Sound a bit greedy, but react to her once & I’m sure you will go back for more.

I listened to Amira, on your recommendation. I really enjoy watching kids who are gifted, perform. Thanks for the recommendation. If you would be open to a recommendation that is slightly different. The Detty Sisters sing Gospel songs, but are young but full of spunk. Not quite opera, but great harmonies. My first recommendation is My God is Faithful (which includes their Mother), God's Not Through with you Yet, The Blood Covered it All, and many more. A talented family. Blessings.

Somewhere in the comments you described this video as “boring“. I think that might be the only dumb thing I’ve ever heard you say. 😂
There are generally two types of (serious) reactions: The technical ones and the ones that come for a primarily emotional placen. This reaction had me literally mind blown at your technical sophistication and your eloquence and fluidity in expressing it. At the same time, it also had me in tears. This is literally one of the best reactions I’ve ever seen anywhere. You are amazing. Just sayin’.
Your reaction struck a pretty significant chord with me when you were discussing the line “and now he’s not here to hold my hand“. That’s the line that really hit me hard the first time I heard this song. It hit me both as somebody who lost his father at a very young age and as a father with two daughters of his own, whose hands he likes to hold as often as possible. You’re the first reactor I’ve heard discuss the way the song can affect somebody just by making them think about the love they have for their own children. That’s how this song hit me the hardest when I first heard it.
In a way, your reactions kind of mirror what I love about Angelina. She obviously has an insane level of technical sophistication. So do you. But what really sets her apart is her ability to emote and convey the feeling and meaning of the song in a way that reaches deep inside the listener. Your reaction kind of did the same for me.
I listened to this reaction twice after I read your comment, and I didn’t hear the word “boring” in any context. It’s too bad she didn’t react to the lyric video with the artwork by Angelina and her grandmother, instead of this plain version.

If not, I think the phrase actually is "like an empty BAUBLE to be thrown" (away) which makes much more sense and is more emotive of loss. COMMENTS WELCOME
In Angelina's official lyric video it says "bubble". I'm pretty sure that is what she meant to write. If you can picture a little girl throwing bubbles and how it stretches before it detaches from the loop, you might understand what she means when she says "and it's pulling my heart like an empty bubble to be thrown"
o.w.h. Open to interpretation. But my take is: You have the plastic "wand" that is dipped into the bubble solution and then you either blow gently on the wand, or you "wave" or move the wand through the air in front of you to create the bubbles. I think she's used the verb "thrown" to mean the movement of the wand that propels the bubbles into the air.

I love both versions of this song, But I think I prefer the live in studio version because it’s more stripped down. Just cello and piano. I’m not sure why you get blocked. There are plenty of reactors out there using the official lyric video and the official live in studio and the official video that she released in January with her uncle and sister also and it. This is actually a good way to do a reaction, because it becomes about content of the lyrics (the message), more than the sound or presentation.
And we all face, or will face death, no matter what our emotion is. Personally, I would not want to face it without knowing that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. His death for my sins, His burial, and resurrection brings hope for my resurrection after death.
Interesting that there are many reactors who are not being flagged when you are. To me it is a flag as to the type of people we have to deal with on a daily basis who treat there positions as positions of power who use it in an insensitive and vitriolic manner.

@Lores Hasani ES18 Nova Academy Competition is what makes the entertainment world interesting. Grace vanderwaal has received a lot of un-deserved praises, and this is the problem for the US. I don't think she will be big if she tries to compete in a Ariana based audience but if she sticks with Adele-Amy audience she may surpass them. Your argument is as lame as Elvis and Dino fans bitchin about the Beatles or Streisand fans laughing at Tina Turner-Janis's vocals. Right now Grace is on the verge of skewering her career or making a brilliant move. Angelina is too squeaky clean for today's kids, Grace recently realized that herself. Kids rave about both of them but they can hear it any time they like on YT while they purchasing The Weekend and Ariana music. Angelina's success in the future has nothing to do with Grace
