Six days that changed the Middle East: The '67 Arab-Israeli War | Featured Documentary

- The June 1967 War was a milestone in the Arab-Israeli conflict, with consequences still felt across the region to this day.
It altered the political and military landscape, expanded Israel’s territorial claims and confirmed Israel's military dominance in the region.
This war is known to Arabs as 'The War in June' and in Israel as 'The Six Day War'. It came just two decades after the 1948 'Nakba,' or catastrophe, when the state of Israel was established and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were expelled from their homes and land.
‘The War in June’ looks at the roots of the 1967 War and documents the actual details of six days of battle, before considering the profound long-term consequences of this conflict.
Editor’s note: This documentary uses footage from the Israeli Army Archive at the following timecodes: 19:33, 19:53, and 20:06.

yes.....the authentic Jews. Not the ones who are the descendants of those who converted hundreds of years back and deceptively claim they are from the M.E. Those Palestinians have been on that land for 15,000 years, according to DNA data and Skeletal biomarkers. In the 7th century, the Arab Rashidun's conquered the Levant; they were later succeeded by other Arabic-speaking Muslim dynasties, including the Umayyads, Abbasids and the Fatimids. Over time, much of the existing population of Palestine adopted Arab culture and language and converted from Judaism to Islam...they descended from Abrahem. Not those settlers whose ancestors converted to Judaism hundreds of years back, then pretended to claim they are from the M.E. The fact that there was no palestinian state in the west bank and east jerusalem when the arabs had these territories raises a lot of questions about the modern demands of the arab world to establish a palestinian state there, and not before they lost it in their war of aggression.
The real muslim, arab or Palestinian wants the whole Palestine from Jordan river to Mediterranean sea.
Out of the Arabian weakness and defeat, some voices called for recognition of the Zionist entity and establishment of a Palestinian state on the territories of West Bank - including East Jerusalem - and Gaza Strip.
But as I said the real muslim, arab or Palestinian is against that as he seeks for the annihilation of what-so-called Israel and restore all of the Arabian Palestinian lands.
Probably because the western world decided they weren’t ready for their own state until the Jews got super unlucky (skill issue) and came back to the land they left thousands of years prior

When, in the fifth year of the war of liberation against the rebel Serbs and the supporters of the JNA (Yugoslav People's Army), we decided to deliver a decisive blow in the summer of 1995, we also had a pair of MIG21 planes that in the first minute of the attack disabled the repeater, cut their connections, destroyed the command posts and thus made it easier for us infantry, easier penetration and liberation of the land that was stolen from us. The operation lasted 8 days and we liberated 1/4 of Croatia and Western Bosnia as agreed with the Bosnian leadership. All this in just 8 days that the world gave us. She failed to mention the three no's at the Arab League meeting post 6 day war. "no peace, no recognition and no negotiation". So who were the Israelis supposed to negotiate with?
They always want to twist history to suit their narratives, forgetting actions have consequences.
Yea - in such case, the UN and all countries after that event that will go down into infamy of how the Arab countries refused tiny Israel's offer of Arab lands returnable in exchange for Israel's recognition and peace to hold the same Arab countries wholly responsible for any future Middle-East wars and flare-ups, including October 7th of 2023 right up to the current crisis involving Hezbolla, Houtis, Iran and its proxies, Russian airforce intrusion thus far. In short, the UN and the world at large will always hold the Arabs blameworthy for wars, flare-ups in the Middle-East until recognition of the state of Israel takes place, henceforth peace.
⁉ Why do we always hear the term “Palestinians” or “Palestinian people”? The fact is that there has NEVER been a “Palestinian people” in history. When the State of Israel was founded in 1948, some of these people lived on the territory of today's State of Israel. When Israel was founded, there was never any talk of expelling these Arab residents of the new state. On the contrary: Anyone who declared their support for Israel was allowed to keep their land and also received all civil rights of the State of Israel. But in 1968, when President Nasser called on the Arab population to leave Israel as quickly as possible because he would raze this Jewish state to the ground, thousands fled to the surrounding countries. However, Nasser's promise vanished into thin air and the "refugees" lived somewhere and had lost their home (namely Israel). And now we Westerners are babbling about "the Palestinians" who have no rights and by that we mean the extremists who are hostile to the state of Israel and who have just proven again how peaceful they are...! Please open your eyes and ears and FINALLY get behind the history books...!
It started about 100 years ago when their leader Haj Amin Al Husseini wanted to make them a nation and fight against the Jews and the British in order to expel them from that region.
Why do we always her the term 'Indians' or 'native americans'? The fact is that there has NEVER been a 'native American people' in history. When the colonies of the united states were founded in the early 17th century some of these people lived on the territory of today's United States. You get the point of what Im saying I think john

@regorRegor well quite a lot actually. Besides getting it right that Israel managed to completely wipe out the aggressors singlehandedly. Everything else is just a "victim card" game.
1. Constantly attacking and losing yet "we are victims Israel is bad" is not a way to an actual peace
2. Palestine never existed as a country before creation of the State of Israel, yet they constantly kept repeating "Israeli occupation" phrase.

The comment at 30:51 is perhaps the best example of the pro-Arab and anti-Israel bias of this documentary. Speaking of air attacks launched by Jordan, Syria and Iraq against Israel, the narrator says, "Ineffective though they were, those attacks gave the Israelis a pretext to widen the scope of the war."
When a nation is attacked by other nations, it doesn't need a "pretext" to defend itself. It has every right to strike back and to destroy the means of its attackers to attack it again, even though this will inevitably "widen the war."
Israel's Arab neighbors tried three times to destroy it and were defeated each time. Let us hope that they have finally learned their lesson.
Thanks for the comment man.
2 out of 4 learned their lesson and signed peace treaties, Hezbolla in Lebanon and Assad in Syria will never make peace, they are far too fanatic to do sensible things like cease violence.
Qatarís are sick
There were definitely a few other moments like that in there too. This documentary is a great example of how you can get most details correct but still omit certain details and frame things a certain way to fit a narrative.
@@boredom5132even details are bad, they completly skipped over the war for indepence and called the 6 day war a israeli agression with no explanation
This documentary downplays the enormous work the Israelis did to prepare for the war. And their heroism and technical skill in fighting the war.
The documentary downplays the blood curdling threats of extermination from the Arab countries.
This documentary ignores that Israel offered to return all of the captured territories for peace. This was rejected by the '3 No's' resolution from Khartoum: No negotiation with Israel, no recognition and no peace.
This documentary is biased, ignores a lot of facts.
Poor us. We lost the war after threatening Israel with total annihilation. But let's downplay the skill of Israel's soldiers and leaders.

You failed to mention that the move of Egyptian forces into Sinai was an act of war, a violation of the 1956 cease-fire agreement. Egypt also closed the Straits of Tiran to Israeli traffic, another violation of the cease-fire agreement and thus another act of war. Israel tried to get the matter settled peacefully, but Egypt refused utterly. Diplomatic efforts by USA and others also failed. Israel's existence was threatened by these two acts of war, so it acted quite properly. Violation of a treaty or a cease-fire agreement is always and everywhere an act of war and constitutes justification for an attack. Your one-sided reporting is typical of anti-Israeli propaganda. Israel did NOT start the war, Egypt did so.
Yes, I noticed that "omission" too, and the documentary appears to show the deal with the British and French predate the blockade of Tiran, which it does not. Thanks for pointing that out.

The Golan were a present to Israel from Assad, Jerusalem was a present from King Husain and the Sinai was a present from Nasser! Thank you!
Assad chained his gunners to their weapons in their dug in very well protected Golan mountain fortress. That was no present. Many IDF lost their lives climbing that rock and fighting those chained SYRIAN troops. King Hussein had a well trained British army but the IDF was better. In battle Jordanian ( British) tanks was giving the Israelis nightmares and then they discovered that those tanks carried their extra fuel on the top of the tank behind the main gun. Israelis were told to aim at that. The Jordanians lost all of their tanks as a result. Nasser called the Russians after Israel caught them asleep on the ground with their shinny new MIGs and asked the Russians "Sorry to bother you but could you please send me 500 new MIGs? Seems we had the ones you gave me caught on the ground and destroyed." Russians told him , in a nice way, F U.
Like Patton said about one of his allies' troops ; " Hope they can fight as well as they march."
I remember that scene and comment ; thanks.
Israelis made a huge error surrendering the captured territory gained in war back to their enemies in the hope of gaining peace. Some one should have read them the scriptures that states that, the Heart of man is full of evil and desperately wicked, meaning that man don’t know how to make peace.Peace Peace they cried, but there is no peace as it is now.
They gave it back in exchange of Egypt and Jordan recognizing them as a country and their territories. Israel never wanted those territories in the first place. They only got them because well… they were forced to go to war to defend themselves. All they wanted was to be recognized and be left alone. They did achieve that as Egypt & Jordan did recognize Israel as a country and they never attack them after the treaty.
To me Israel got exactly what they wanted from that treaty. Recognition! They also have Israel Embassy in Egypt & Jordan now too. And the 3 countries are atleast civil to each other now.
