I always find it so funny when a show will put two characters together and be like "hahaha it's funny because they'd never work" and then most of us are like "this is kind of better" but they refuse to change directions on their original concept.
I hope that the writers/ directors aren't too stubborn and let the people have what they want.
@@twentyoneangels1361 thats the thing, i cant truely see how with maeve going to the usa will work with otis as the season is filmed over a school year so it will be one boring season with it just being facetimes between them. either maeve hates the usa and returns or she finds a boy over there and that whole story side goes away. but the issue with that is the concept itself is about the school group growing up and exploring themselves and i feel like maeve being by her self in her own story line doesnt really fit in with that idea. makes her singled out and her story line doesnt really have a point as its only her we know as a character so theres no development to be seen. imo if they wanted maeve out her ending in season 3 would have been a perfect time for her to leave
i think season 4 will be a make or break for this title as season 3 made some weird decisions which went very unanswered. but iv got a feeling you wont see otis in a perminant relationship until the ending episodes as anything before that would turn the series stale. but yea id love more of ruby and otis as ruby's character development has been huge and would be nice for the writers to capture that and further it as i dont really know how much more maeve can change her character

I wish some movie or series would recognize that some relationships that have too many complications and too many miscommunications are *not* meant to be. Like Otis and Maeve. Otis and Ruby had a solid relationship based in communication and honesty. They slowly started understanding each other and both became better as people. They just worked. I started out wanting Maeve and Otis together, but damn. Otis and Ruby all the way now.

Ruby’s character WAS very much based on the exterior of being popular to shelter the girl she really is. She’s very insecure and actually a lovely girl when she’s vulnerable. This is the side Otis brought out of her and Ruby’s character was becoming better and better the more her and Otis were together. Them breaking up just puts Ruby back to square one just for the sake of Otis and Maeve being together when in reality, Otis and Ruby are the better couple and have way more chemistry.
I hope there will be a season 4 where Otis tries to win Ruby back, they are something else man I mean I didn't even expect that chemistry between them

I am here after season 4 and I am utterly disappointed and dissatisfied with directors.
I feel like Maeve is his first love so he clearly has a harder time moving on but even if it's not now, gradually everyone does move on from their first love so I think that's hopefully what the writer will show in S4 and bring Rotis back together.

Its crazy how so few of their interractions could beat 3 seasons of otis and Maeve, also i personally belive his relationship with ruby is much more balanced and healthy with Ruby than with maeve. with Maeve he forces himself to be this knight in shining armor, but it comes off as condescending to herself, since she's definitely strong enough, and able to do all he does for her, and it disregeard her own autonomy. But with ruby everything seems much more natural, while she's not exactly who you would excpect him to go for, she also brings a much different point of view to his life, and they compliment each other nicely, and while Ruby may come as rough, or cold even, we soon learn that she has a great heart, and she's not only proud but sure of herself to stand for herself, we also see in her friends that she has a good heart since she not only is a great person but her friend come to embrace her even for her harsher way of life
It might be because he doesn't care about Ruby as much as Maeve (+thinks she's mean) so he can be a lot more open towards her than Maeve but that's only my perception from this video. I didn't watch the last season bc I got sick of Otis and Maeve and when I heard about Otis and Ruby, I just kind of threw in the towel. Now that I know they work good together, I would've watch it but before the season it felt like a really weird development.

The relationship of these two could have been so great especially after Ruby had introduced him to her family as well and opened up more.
I def think they would have had a more mature and real relationship.
