Ruby and Otis has natural, undeniable, on fire chemistry. They don’t even have to try. It’s so natural that it overpowered Maeve and Otis. I think now, if there’s no Ruby and Otis in the next seasons, I’m not watching anymore. I’ll stay as long as they give Ruby the spotlight. She’s a revelation and definitely carried Season 3. The thing i hate the most is how Ruby get so much less screen time after the breakup , like she was the main reason why the first few episodes of new season where so fun...she is powerful character and actress playing her really good...ok i get the break up but don't make her character disappear ...she literally did carry first half of the new season.
I totally agree, I did not like that it did not appear in the other episodes after they finished, until I felt bored, I am left with the 3 beginning episodes to repeat them many times, I hope they give us more of Otis and Ruby in season 4 , sorry for my English.

i woulldnt say it was better that otis and maeves in s1+3 but ruby and otis were much better in s3 than otis and maeves for most of s2. (mainly bcs maeve and otis fell out for most of s2).

Writers messed up everything real bad imo. I rewatched the first season and only now realized how they ruined Motis. I was a big fan of Maeve as an endgame choice, but I gravitate more towards Ruby after S3.
In S1, Maeve and Otis had more screentime together in every single episode than they did in S2 & S3 combined. That's a first mistake.
Secondly, they messed up their chemistry. They were so great together, and still are... However, when you give them a minute together per episode, it just pales a lot. And what is with Maeve's behaviour towards him. He sneezes, she gets angry at him. I mean Isaac got a free pass immediately...
The last 3 episodes are terrible imo. They ruined the entire plot so far. Everything looked rushed. They dropped Ruby completely. Maeve's choice to first stick with Isaac, and then after he "gives up", she goes for Otis.
S3 is enjoyable, but a big writing fiasco. They tried to juggle too many stories as equally important.
Objectively and logically, Ruby and Otis should be as unimportant as him and Ola, but writers messed everything up, so now everyone cheers for Rotis. If Emma leaves the show and they go back to Ruby, it will be even worse. They literally dug up their own graves...
@@ryder7085 Yes they fucked up Motis but after we got Rotis that just made me see how Maeve and Otis chemistry is bad! And after watching season 3 I got the idea that it's so forced! I also prefer Otis and Ruby's storyline and the reason why I think Ruby has few screen time after their breakup is because the writers got scared about this couple getting too much attention and it was what happened.

Im gonna be honest I do not care about Otis and maive anymore, this is the ultimate ship now. I feel that Otis brings out way more out of Ruby and I feel like she can change into a better person only if Otis give himself more time to fall in love with her. I hate that we didn't get a conclusion out of them after the theater incident. I especially loved seeing Ruby's personal life and how she isn't all that in reality. She finally had someone in her personal life.

IKR for me, I always felt that Maeve brought out some of the worst qualities in Otis, not on purpose, but I found them both more interesting characters when they were by themselves or with other characters then when they were with each other and I’m so glad they chose to explore Ruby and Otis this season.

Otis and Ruby are something i've seen too many times in television. I always feel like when something like this happens it's because the writer's explore something and it works beautifully, but ultimately they don't (or maybe can't) take the risk of going full steam ahead with something that wasn't in the original plan. I don't think the writers knew how hugely successful otis and ruby were gonna be and didn't want to ( or couldn't) change their original plans. Essentially they didn't evolve with the show
Unfotunately Mimi keene IS not as famous as Emma mackey. Otis and ruby chemistry was out of the chart. Their breakup was more painful than that of the main characters.
I just want a copy of an alternative universe where the writers didn't fk up season 4 and ruby and Otis stayed together 😢

The ending is very much open and in all possibility, theoretically, Otis will end up with Ruby in a few months from the time when the show got over."

Also did you notice when he asked to see her house and right before she said she loved him she called him Otis rather than OT, and again in the scene when she said she loved him he said “goodnight Rubes” they are so fucking adorable together I literally can’t cope without them. The annoying thing is when he called her Rubes you could hear something in his voice that made me think he was starting to fall in love with her, but then she said she already was in love with him and he just panicked, if only he hadn’t said in her bedroom the next day “we could still keep hanging out like we are” they might still be together because at least to me the first time I watched it I thought he just meant sex but now I think he meant going on actual dates and stuff. All he needed to do was rephrase it and I guarantee they would still be together

@@streszz9584 sadly I think maeve said to Isaac in like episode 2 that it’s only for a couple of months, but that’s more than enough time for Otis and Ruby to start talking again. I spotted at least 7 scenes with Ruby that were about pregnancy in some way so maybe that’s how they’ll end up talking when Ruby discovers she’s pregnant, I saw someone come up with a really interesting theory on another video but now I can’t find it but it was something along the lines of Otis will agree to go back to Ruby and be a good dad to his child because he never really had a dad growing up, and Maeve will support him to do it and let him go because her dad abandoned her as well, I think that would be a really sweet way to provide closure for both relationships without the fans of whichever ship doesn’t end up together being pissed off at the writers.

Yeah I would be happy if Otis ended up with Roby or Maeve either way but honestly I was slightly leaning to Otis x Ruby. They were just so cute together! It's a shame they didn't work out... Otis just hurt her again. If they at the very least had some sort of closure, you know, The talk, Otis told her she deserves someone who would appreciate her for who she really is under the tough facade, and stayed friends... But the creators were 'Nope, ain't gonna happen.' Really bitter ending

And also the fact that Ruby didn't even date anyone after Otis. It's just heartbreaking to see such a beautiful storyline go to waste. I guess my official ending would be season 3 where Otis and Ruby end up together 😂

I think the writers failed to realize the weight of what they had accomplished in S3 upon creating Rotis, and in S4 they didn't have the guts to actually make the choice between Motis and Rotis so they created absolutely the worst possible option of Otis ending up alone. He deserves it though. I kind of feel like him and Maeve are not right for each other anymore... and he's not worthy of Ruby's love at this point because he really fucked up.

The way it ended was not an ending especially after her saying “I don’t hate u, it’d be a lot easier if I did“ which means she obviously still has feelings for him and he prolly doesn’t have as strong feelings but he still cares and that’s still something. Hopefully they get back together or find closure in s4 because they’re story is definitely not over.

I think he works better with Ruby then Maeve. Ruby is showing a more human side to her then we generally see when she's in school with her clique. We get a glimpse in S2 but it's brought out more in S3. They have such a good dynamic with one another, and the writers ended it way too early imo lol. And now we get thrown back into Maeve's orbit. Here's hoping for S4 Ruby x Otis.
When you introduce a new couple into a series, especially with this type of dynamic. It's hard for people to want the original couple, it felt like the writers were afraid of scrapping the original idea. No Otis didn't have to say he loved her back, but he didn't have to try going back to Maeve either. It would've been an amazing season to see Otis and Ruby have that awkwardness where he explains he doesn't love her yet, but he has feelings, and we see Ruby mature because she's not used to a "nobody" being the one to not love her. Most likely not end game, but it really should be.
I totally agree. There was no need to use Ruby and throw it away. The screenwriters used her as a stepping stone. Especially the last episodes, Ruby was not around. Character development is the most important thing in a show, and we see that in Ruby. Meave left the show, so the Ruby x Otis relationship should be the main theme.

Listen carefully the songs(lyrics) of rotis scenes at s3 and you find that their positive ones on the other hand if you listen the songs at motis scenes at the last 3 episodes you find that their love songs but a depressed ones something like is already gone…that bugs me though

@@yooasmiracle You are right. Writers need a sensible script. They couldn't have predicted that things would come to this point. Currently, the supporting character (Ruby) is liked more than the lead character (Maeve). The sad ending of Ruby's relationship with Otis doubled the effect. More than half of those who watch the series want a Rotis endgame. Everything is in the hands of the writers. But one thing is certain, no matter how the endgame ends, the writers won't be able to please everyone.

When Otis and Maeve kissed each other the spark for me was already gone, but when Ruby and Otis had this sweet subtle moments it was something else. They should write a good endgame for Otis and Ruby.

I saw a comment say that Ruby was the right fit for Otis because with her he acts rationally, he was emotionally responsible, caring, kind and was having fun with her. With Maeve, he always acts impulsively, his feelings always get overwhelming and he ends up either hurting her or hurting himself (emotionally). Ruby is the right fit for him, they both get the best out if the other, unlike him and Maeve, who always seem the get the worse out of each other.

I think the writers should step out of the cliché that “first love never dies” kind of thing. It’s getting old now. And besides, Ruby and Otis didn’t need to have a long duration of being together to have chemistry. That I think is the main reason why a lot of people now ship them. That also captures the definition of love, which is an unexplainable feeling that just happens, mostly in the unexpected.
I think it's perfectly fine they havent done a single other "cliche" in the show from what I know and obviously otis didnt love ruby so it wouldve ended that way regardless

That characters had a reason to 👻, like the lesbian couple (Ola and Lily) who decided not to act because because of a few things, including the script. Which is a little funny, since in the 1st and 2nd seasons the script was good. And that cringe pushy from Otis's friend from church? It gives me chills. So they somehow messed up the script to find a reason for the characters to disappear.
However, Ruby had somehow had a constriction of her personality, also in accordance with what happens with her and Otis. Then, in the 4th and final season, she simply went back to being the same asshole from the 1st season. She simply humiliated herself in every way to have the friendship of those homosexuals, with weak personalities, for reason... any? For the same "reason" they had some kind of "rancidity" with her. Without even having spoken to her? This series should teach psychological things, that sort of thing, you know? It could even be that you are in a relationship and the person has to move on for the sake of their career, a great moral of the story. That's why Netflix had to use a lot of "marketing", This series went down the drain haha.
Midway through S3 I actually wanted them to last. They made a lot of sense together. She needs someone mature, he needs someone assertive.

I think that waiting 3 seasons for two characters to get together is too much, at least for this story... so Ruby and Otis just make more sense to me now.

En vrai ils sont unique ensemble et ils se complètent énormément.
Cependant il y a quelque chose qui a fait défaut a Otis et ça peut expliquer son comportement.
Otis s'est énormément intéressé a Ruby, a son intimité, a ce qu'elle était.
Ruby elle a pendant un moment été très dur avec Otis a rejeté qui il était, jusqu'au moment où elle a finit par l'accepter.
Mais pendant presque toute la saison elle a fait quelques efforts sur la fin mais elle s'est surtout fixé sur elle et un peu après sur son amour pour Otis.
Cependant elle ne s'est presque jamais mêlée à l'intimité d'otis, a sa profondeur, a qui il est vraiment et ses épreuves que ce soit perso ou familial.
Ça n'empêche qu'ils sont incroyable ensemble. Mais ça peut expliquer le comportement de Otis vis à vis de Ruby.
Le manque d'intimité et de partage d'expérience n'a pas sur surpasser le passif émotionnel qu'il avait avec meave et le fait qu'il se projette énormément autour de ce qu'il a su construire dans les premières saison avec meave personnellement comme pro.
Et ce même si le fusion n'est pas si ouf et je trouve pas aussi forte qu'avec Ruby (souvent confrontés à des galères et a mal gérer leurs émotions)

I think it should be Ruby and Otis as Endgame. During Seasons 1 & 2 I thought it should be Maeve and Otis, but after watching Season 3 and seeing ‘Rotis’ / ‘Rubis’, I think they’re much better. They feel like a real relationship and are just natural and bounce off each other.
They both have a positive impact on each other. Ruby makes Otis confident and grow a backbone and be more comfortable walking around school. While Otis makes Ruby drop her act and be the real her. She doesn’t have to pretend around him, and the fact she trusted and loved him enough to let him meet her dad when not even the Untouchables have shows that Otis was special to her.
But what also makes them great is the fact she’s the girl that everyone wants, and he’s the boy that no one wants, yet they’re together. It’s quite interesting, and cute. It’s what makes the Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson relationship from Marvel comics so iconic, interesting and natural.
I get the show is about Maeve and Otis, but Season 3 showed that it’s still their show, even when they aren’t together and can get good character development when they aren’t in a relationship.
I think that Maeve & Otis not being together would serve as a good reminder and message to viewers to act on your feelings before it’s too late or before things change.
But then again. Maeve and Otis are the focus of the show. I think they should get together in Season 4, but then just remain friends, with Otis going back to Ruby.
My dream ending would be Otis & Ruby get back together, and Maeve & Issac get back together. Otis goes to Uni and studies to become a Sexual Therapist.
Then in the future/end of the show, Otis & Ruby and Maeve & Issac are married, and Otis & Maeve setup an actual Sex Therapy Clinic.

I really hoped that they would end up back together. I felt so bad for Ruby when she said I love you to Otis, that scene broke my heart.. we really saw her character development and that she's not this mean girl we saw before in s01 and s02. There’s an opinion that Ruby confessed her feelings towards Otis way to soon, but actually, she’s been holding it for a while since S2E7 I guess(4-5 months).
There were small hints of her being into him even during “casual” stage of relationship by being jealous and protective.
1. E1 when Hope invited Maeve and Otis to her office, the camera quickly showed Ruby’s reaction, she was annoyed. More than that, she wanted to have sex with him right after this meeting, just to prove to herself that Otis still belongs to her.
2. E1 when Otis told her that they’re “breaking up”, she was the one who wanted to text him by saying how stupid that was of her and that she wants to continue their relationship.
She could’ve ended their relationship and find someone new to have sex with, but she didn’t. Which proves the point of her having more than just good sex from relationship from Otis.
3. E2 when she gave Otis Anwar’s jacket, Anwar wanted it back but Ruby defended Otis by telling Anwar that Otis will keep it and that Anwar can’t own a look.
This might be “copium”, but Ruby had feelings for Otis long before season 3. Cause she never really trusted anyone and didn’t have a proper relationship, she used sex with Otis just to be around him. In her mind, a guy needs to have sex in order to be around. And it really was like that, Otis was around her and that made her happy, cause she can be herself around him and not wear a mean girl mask(her dad saying she became happy ever since she started seeing Otis).
Another small detail: in E2 after having sex Otis asked her about helping her dad and she asked him back about wanting to have sex again(read what I said before ⬆️). When he said he wants to help her, her face changed, she said she’s fine and she quickly rushed away to hide her feelings.
And in the end of E2, when Otis asked her to be his girlfriend, it completely assured her(again, in her mind) that he loves her too. And since she thought so, she decided to confess her feelings.
When Otis wanted to go public, it was a sign for her that he might be into her, but she was too scared to do so and denied it cause she’s insecure about herself.
After their relationship went public, she was the one who offered him to continue seeing each other without hiding.

My heart goes out for Otis and Ruby, I can’t believe the show made me like their relationship more than Otis and Maeve’s, Ruby felt genuine love for Otis, the scene where her dad tells Otis that she’s happier since they started dating and always talks about him was honestly cute as fuck, she deserved a better ending. And hats off to Isaac for at least telling Maeve he deleted Otis’ voice male, still fucked up of him but I have just a little respect for him for telling the truth. I woulda much preferred Maeve and Isaac dating if it meant more of Otis and Ruby together…

i agree but i dont think the writers flopped. and they didnt even presented us maeve and otis couple, they just kissed thinking about their past and thats it. 2019 me felt happy seeing those two kisses but again, they arent as close as they used to be so obviously they havent given us actual Motis yet, it was just 2 kisses and some moments of isaac and otis competing infront of her which was funny. also i like to point out how they the whole comment section was just showing so much hate on isaac when he deleted the message even though that was the season where otis and maeve didnt have any screen time.
i think theyll get us excited about maeve and otis again with some good writing. how did the writers flop when the same writers wrote ruby and otis which sold really well to a point that you told it deserves more? i was the guy who thought theyd ruin season 2 but they surprised me with all the character development they did. now they have done it again! they bought in new characters and developed their characters as well, and they did extremely good with ruby and adam, like fuckk extremely good character development.

Ruby is indeed a manipulative girl and mean, but I really love how her character develops. She didn't want to have any status with Otis but Otis asked for it if not they should stop and she finally accept it, and when he said "I want to know about you, bc you are interesting, scary, but interesting..." And she did show him, her true colors that nobody haven't see it before even to her close friends. But in the end Otis wasn't so sure about the words of "I LOVE You". It hurts and make me weak seeing her expression after Otis didn't say I Love You back to Ruby. 🥲
Honestly, you know shit about people like her type. They were hurt or bullied, so now they just wear the mask of strong, independend person that can cut off their feelings. But deep down inside, they are still their orginal verison - vulnerable and delightful.
