I have had mine for over a week now and I agree that the times in the guide are way off. Usually by 20-30%. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. Unless you like overly done food (to be point where there is no moisture left at all and near rock solid) keep an eye and work out your own times. Otherwise I’m liking it so far. Hopefully they come out with updated cookbooks and guides soon.

That's the first 2 basket gadget of that kind, I've seen. Not a bad idea.
I personally prefer a big basket, not just for whole chickens/larger roasts, but also because it fits small backing forms.
I'm sure, this is super handy, if someone mainly does side dishes or smaller meals in this. No more juggling different temperature/time requirements, for your meat and starch or veggie components.

Me too. I just used my first air fryer for the first time last night. Made some chicken and fries. Mine were overcooked a bit too. It was nice to hear I was not alone.🙂 I'd imagine that is pretty common the first time when you're just learning. As you said it's all just part of the learning curve.
My first try was still very good though imo, and it really impressed me with my machine. I have SO many recipes lined up to try and it's all still very exciting. I just LOVE my air fryer.
Also the Ninja Foodi 2 drawer, Mine has all 6 functions, including bake and broil. It got it for 150.00 CAD on Amazon, although I think may have been a sale price.
PS. Can you believe this??? LOL\
I found out 2 days later WHY my meals were overcooking the first two times in my Air Fryer, . LOL
I had been using my meat thermometer to check for doneness. And I just could not get my food up to the right temperature, even though it had been cooking longer than in the recipe, So I cooked it some more....Finally I got frustrated and cut it open and it was overcooked.
it took me 2 days to figure out why. LOL My meat thermometer, for some reason, had slipped into Centigrade instead of Fahrenheit where it has always been so far. It had never done that before and it didn't even occur to me that could happen. So there I was trying to get my chicken to 165 and I could not get higher than 90! LOL
Took me 2 days to figure out what was going wrong, but I finally have the thermometer fixed again now. That said I just LOVE my air fryer still and its an amazing machine. But I was having some real newbie moments at first. LOL

I would give ninja kitchen a call and see if they would replace it. Is it dented anywhere?

Try to stick full size chicken into basket, not happy with smaller size.

Yeah I didn’t think one would fit. Wish they made one large and one small basket. One that fits a chicken and one for sides.

Ok but the point to air fry is that you don’t use oil because you can catch it on fire

the book is off just watch vids and join some groups and of course trial and error with the temps and times.

The reason your time is off is because of the amount of wings and fries you cooked. The book show 2lbs of chicken wings will take 43-47 mins. You have no where near 2lbs of wings. Same with fries. It shows 1lb of fries. Again, way less than 1lb of fries.

I like mine. My Only big complaint is you cannot air fry chicken in both baskets. Doesn’t cook right

Lisa, let me tell you something my darling, - you would have made a fantastic Boeing 777 captain and the reason? Because if you can understand this "2 casket" looking air fryer thing, you would find the Boeing Trip 7 a breeze, believe me,!!! this is way, way, way too complicated for my little pee brain Lisa I think I would rather stick my 2 Ninja Foodi's side by side and control them separately but I love you video's I think you are wonderful and I will continue to watch every single one of them but I have to say no way would I bother with this but I am coming around to the Ninja Grill!!

    • @pressurecrisp

Hi David! 2-casket-lol. I would be playing with all the buttons and switches and end up in Alaska instead of Vegas-lol. "Attention passengers due to the pilot playing with all. the buttons we are making a detour to Alaska" :) lol
Heck you are a pilot you can handle the Ninja dual zone air fryer-lol.
this was my first time. using it and I was a bit awkward but have used it a few times since and its. becoming second nature.
The grill is still my favorite go to appliance. I use the foodi mostly for sides-or if I'm making potato salad, macaroni salad, beans etc...
      Thanks David!

    • @pressurecrisp
      @pressurecrisp  Před 3 lety

Hi Jocelyne, you can pause either basket or both at the same time. It’s the start/ pause button. But either illuminate 1 or 2 or both. Hope this makes sense.

DO NOT POUR FRENCH FRIES OUT OF THE BASKET THE WAY SHE RECOMMENDED, DONT DO IT! YOU WILL DRENCH THE FRIES WITH THE OILS THAT HAVE FALLEN DOWN INTO THE BASKET
