Scotty SHOCKED the ENTIRE UNIVERSE with this one 😅
Am still in shock.
I thought it was gonna be a Troll 🐴
im couple minutes in and still waiting for the plot twist
The problem with M-series BMWs and any other high performance cars is that most people who buy them drive them like criminals.
Most people that drive them are criminals
I don't think E92 3er are ever going to have resale value it's all cheap plastic. E92 will never have the high resale value of a E36/46. 💯
Didn't you just hear our mechanical master scotty? He just said they're made to be driven that way.
@CaptainSwoopty yes, I know but I once had a friend who had a BMW and he drove it like a grandma 5-10 miles on the main road lol back in high school. Slow or fast they are fun to ride in. I don't care for the speed of a BMW, I like the cruising.
well most of these High performance cars are a waste here in the US, unless u drive alot of highway 70mph miles. what are you gonna do, beat me to the next red light 100 yds down the road?? big whoop.
Loved seeing Craig Bimmer's hand featured in this video! Very cool
It's great to see that someone finally got lucky with a BMW. I've owned a few high end German cars including BMW's but after purchasing my first Toyota Camry I came to realize that I was being used as an unpaid research and development dummy all along 😳
2018 and newer camrys look so good. Especially in the xse trim level. Had one as a rental, it was great.
BMW = Be My Widow... 😂😂😂
It means you simply don’t enjoy a driver’s car. A normal commuter who doesn’t find the fun in these type of cars are just buying them for the name compared to someone who actually gets entertainment from driving a well rounded car.
@@bacKw0odz driving is one of the most boring things to do in life.. It's NOTHING more than a means to get things from point A to point B by aimers.. 💯💯
@@Mikeya85 yup.. I doubt those muscle cars drivers think about how 🌎 is travelling at 68K MPH while they try to speed their way through traffic.. 😄😄
I've a 20 year old BMW M3 with right at 100 thousand miles on it. The past several years it's cost me about $5000.00 in repairs and standard maintenance. When I bought it used I knew it had issues and am Okay with the costs. At this time it's an entirely reliable fun comfortable car to drive. No regrets.
He gave us $2 bucks for a $1.75 car wash and he wanted his quarter back 😂
But back then, $ 2 was probably like $20 now..
A quarter bought three cups of coffee back then 😂
The older ones were even less money pits 😉 greetings from an E46 driver in Bavaria ✌🏼
Are you going to volunteer to drive a leopard tank in Ukraine?? 😂😂
Subframe cracks entered the chat
E46 here too! I was gifted one by my fiance😁 I do miss my '76 2002 tho. That was one of my best cars. Got it when I was 16... sadly sold it in my early 20's. 🥴
I smiled throughout the video. I am one of the guys who buys a car and takes care of it. 19 years later and my car drives as well as when it left the factory. I have had people leaving a note on one of my previous cars wanting to buy. I like driving a clean car that has smooth performance.
Me too. Besides, it’s therapeutic.
I'm betting that the rod bearings were replaced at some point. The E92 V8 like the E46 M3 are going to need rod bearings at some point due to BMW being more concerned with the environment (the alloys used from the factory are not robust enough for these engines. The E46 M3 has a red line of 8,100 rpm and the E92 M3 has a red line of 8,500 rpm) than they are for the longevity of the engine. After market replacement bearings are bullet proof. All the true M cars are race cars. I own both an E36 M3 and an E46 M3. Greatest driving cars ever made.
They're not the best ever made.
@@richsweeney1115thanks rich
They are bad German cars just like any BMW
Different topic totally..,,What do you think of the Fixd Car OBll code reader.
If you put aftermarket rod bearings, the engine will not be as ‘snappy’ as it is out of the factory. M engines since the s54 s62 are high revving race engines. There is some maintance that comes with that.
Scotty from my experience as a mechanic most German cars leak oil so just put a drip pan underneath them
Can't believe with 120,000 miles that thing hasn't had the rod bearings fail yet. Every one of those v8s have the rod bearings fail.
Hey Gehrig, loved your car ! Just don`t go too fast man, and Scotty as always, funny with the best knowledge about cars than anyone else 👏👏👏
this is definitely one of my favorite videos you’ve ever made
I understood that V8 BMWs had a bad reputation.I watch the Car Ninja channel:a guy who specializes in fixing German vehicles.
Six speeds manual is government forced to get an extra 1 mpg, five speeds were much nicer to drive.
Thank you Scotty for spitting facts 👍🏻
Good day sir! Thanks for all the videos!
The e93 m3 have always been one of my favorite cars. Thanks for covering this, I’m buying one now.
Oh yeah. The e93 m3. Awesome cars. My uncle has one. 2 hundred thousand miles on it.. and still runs like a horse. On steroids. !!!!!! Love that car.
Mike just make sure you do the rod bearings and a few other preventative maintenance things. And don't skimp on timely oilchanges. Enjoy
It's great comical entertainment watching Scotty do a deep OBD scan on a BMW LOL!!!!
I don’t feel comfortable buying a used German car or luxury car from a dealer, because I’m always think most of them were leased. And why would any car owner care about a “rental”? If I were to get one, would prefer it be from a private seller or BaT.
❤❤❤I owned an early m6 in 1984 and loved it
Communication is typically via a cab bus system. Bad sensor likely
My brother wants to buy a used Jaguar XJ, I told him it will be a money pit😂
A friend of mine had one of those. Got rid of it after 6 months because it was a nightmare money pit. Never got it to run right for a week straight. Tried to warn him but wouldn’t listen, lolz.
I saw a few Jaguars in Houston with lower miles and cheaper than a Honda. Red flag!
Drove a Jaguar X350 XJ from 7 miles - 122,000 miles. Outside of routine service replaced a differential gear for £400 at 80,000 and the air suspension compressor for £600 or £800 at 120,000. It was pretty much as reliable as cars get, looked great and drove pretty much as new when it went.
@@davidspropaganda they’re probably ok when you buy them new. And yeah, I agree, they’re beautiful and comfortable. I personally wouldn’t ever buy one, though. Not rich enough to buy new, not ballsy enough to buy used.
I had an xj for about a year, moved it on before air suspension needed work, thanks to scotty I've got a mark 2 Honda Crv, easy to work on, love it.
Never thought we'd see Scotty praise a BMW. The German built M cars are really built like tanks. I own an E92 320i myself (straight 4 cylinder i know) and swerving around corners in that thing is super fun. Such a drivers car especially with a manual transmission.
if you can't afford the V8 even the 320i or 325i is perfect, it's the chassis that makes these cars so great to drive.
Plastic coolant tank? Oh, like every other car? Oh no!
You guys hear what you want...just like he says buy a hinda or toyota..and half the people only hear him say toyota...he also said it has an exellent motor... but, here's too much plastic for the price..they do it to be cheap
My dad purchased a 1987 325is back in like 2011 for 1k, now valued at 10k and above 😂
They need to be well made in Germany as the speed limit is as fast asyou can go on some sections of the autobahns.
This man is one of the few who deserves all of his subscribers
Between his voice...and his hands always moving.... Not really sure why he does have so many subscribers.
Scotty- You need to seriously have look at 2008 - 2014 mb w204 C63 AMG. They're brutal for that time period.
I swear he passed a cop the first time he punched it 👊 👮♂️ 🚔 got lucky 😂
When Scotty likes a car everything on it is awesome, even the plastic, push button start, all the Fault codes, poor gas mileage... still an awesome BMW 🤦
I have owned many e36, e39 and e70s and they have the same issues as others, starters, water pumps, etc. I would not say BMW are money pits. I do my own work so that helps but I have not issues with them.
engine sounds awesome, really purrrs
Yea they run good back to the shop..no where else though
Scotty really, GOTTa LOVE IT>
what did you do with the real Scotty?!?!? lol love you Scotty!
“When the ash trays get full I get another car”😎
I had an uncle who never changed the oil, but he wasn't rich. Could never understand it, but he just drove them until they broke. Insane lol.
I've got a 2006 325i with a manual trans. Maybe some of the appreciation will bleed over to mine? Like yeah maybe you can't find a reasonably priced V8 M3 but here's a nice 3.0 n52 engine with the reliable inline 6.
325i doesn't have the power of the V8 but still alright, good daily driver.
The rod bearings on these Ms will cost you bigly if they break and they usually do after 90k miles.
Rod bearings?
Finally some good words about the BMW M cars. Can you do one for my e60 M5 V10? WORTH TALKING ABOUT.
Have you had your rod bearings done yet? If not be sure to have your oil analyzed. You need to send oil change samples to Blackstone (google it) and change that oil every 5k miles no matter what BMW says. Doing this will tell you the condition of your rod bearings by the amount of metal in the oil. Gives you a heads up to change those bearings before you destroy your very expensive engine.
Hope it's not with the SMG transmission, yuck
I'VE HAD M CARS ALL MY LIFE AND AM A TECH FOR PAST 20 YEARS. ROD BEARINGS ARE DONE. STILL HAVE TO DO THE UPGRADED VANOS PUMP AND LINE WITH THE SOLENOIDS. GREAT MOTOR.
@@WayToManyAssassins SMG 3 IS A GREAT TRANNY. YOU NEED TO HAVE THE EURO TUNE TO PERFORM WELL. I WOULD CHOOSE IT OVER MANUAL ANY DAY. BUT MY E46 M3 6SPEED ALL DAY.
Weird seeing a stick shift car with push button start 😂
Hey scotty, do you have a car repair shop? I really wish I could meet you with my car.
Good day Scotty! 🏁
Scotty is so happy.
Scotty for us on a limited budget what's your opinion on a SAAB 9-3 convertible in comparison. I know less power but much less price.
105mph is 35mpg
I guy I worked with 6 or 7 years ago said these would be worth lots because of the naturally aspirated v8.
What!!! That's you saying that, unbelievable 😮
I drive a 2011 Bmw 135i V6 with twins, Original owner. Still enjoying the ride...
BMW NEVER MADE V6. INLINE 6.
No such thing as a V6 in a BMW. It's an inline 6 which is the engine BMW is famous for.
Can't get enough of Scotty's animated way of speaking.

i see you finally read one of my comments…
Hi, what's the symptom for a bad fuel filter for a 2003 Nissan Frontier? How to fix it?Please help, thanks...
Take it to someone that you trust & get them to put a scanner on it , it maybe something else.If it is the fuel filter get them to replace it. Make sure it is oe specked not made in china. Hope this helps.Cheers.
Now it just needs a GT Wing to look better.
Not a fan of BMW in general, but this is an amazing car! BMW was so much better back in the day.
He wanted his quarter back...got me🤣
He needs to tint those windows if he wants to keep those leather seats for ripping even more
I've always dreamt of having one of these and you talking about how unreliable BMWs were really put a damper on it so this is encouraging!
Yeah i dunt understand, over here everyone drives them and they’re pretty dependable (not as dependable as mercedes) and they last a really long time, I see old bmws all over the place being used as daily drivers
Guess it’s because they’re fully german made ones, and there’s mechanics for them everywhere
Don't be discouraged about buying a BMW but you do need to do your due diligence. By that I mean if you are buying used see that the required maintenance has been done. So many BMW's on the market have never been maintained. These cars are maintenance sensitive like all German cars but most Americans never due the required maintenance after the warranty expires. Americans just won't due brake fluid flushes and cooling system flushes every 2 years let alone changing the oil every 5K miles. I've owned 4 BMW's and currently own an E36 M3 and an E46 M3 and I've nerve had the problems of which so many complain, but my BMW's are well maintained.
I've owned a 3 series and an X3, never had major issues except for oil leaks which is a normal BMW feature. 2006 and up are a lot of reliable than the older E46 tbh but E46 parts are cheaper and easier to work on overall.
Love you guy!! U have taught me so much!!! 😇😇😇😇😇
First you said they were going to tank now you’re saying they’re going to skyrocket. Which one is it?
Ultimate Bimmer Experience FTW.
I gonna get a 8 cylinder xdrive M3 just to piss people like Scotty off.
Thanks Scotty
Probably the best BMW made in decades.
Scotty you don’t mention the model. What is the rest of the 3 series number
He's showing off the M3
BMW e92 is the coupe (here) and e93 the cabriolet, if that’s what you were asking
@@torpmorp1324 and E90 is the sedan model
Best E92 to buy is a 328i.
I wish gm cars with the 3.8 would double in price I've got to sell mine or trade it for a truck because I can't run a landscaping company with a sedan. many 3.8s make it to well past 250 300k miles with regular maintenance
Now that is a nice car.
Drive it like you stole it😅 The M cars are the best, especially the older ones😊
Waited to see an e30 but shows an e92 😊. Here’s another concept to poor people that buys used BMWs if you CANNOT afford maintenance and parts DO NOT buy one.
I just sold mine last year. I blew a head gasket . It only had 2 hundred thousand miles on it.. I had to let it go. I sold it. To my auto mechanic. !! He fixed it with in 3 weeks. And sold it.. he got double the price for it. !!! Awesome cars. !!
@@harveyhankerson8359 Should have changed the cooling system fluid with genuine BMW anti freeze and distilled water every 2 years max. Would never have had a head gasket problem.
They are awesome cars!
@@sdschei yeah. That’s what he told me.) that was my fault.)
Yeah...wait until the Valvetronic Eccentric Shaft Sensor breaks 🤣
Every million vehicles built -you get one that is lucky.
No mention of the plastic parts used in the cooling system which eventually lead to head gasket failure. Unlees these parts are replaced with metal, forget it. Then there's the issues with electronics. Not for me, I wil stick with Toyota thanks.
The e46 m3 is the one to get. Not the e92
Im pretty happy with my 2023 Tacoma even if its assembled in Mexico.
It's early yet. Give it time.
How do you find high quality imports produced in their respective country? Pay an arm and a leg?
All BMW M cars are made in Germany. You will pay and arm and a leg for one though.
Got a code for "Missing ice coffee in cupholder 1".
Sign of the Apocalypse, Scotty recommending a BMW.
Scotty nice video. You are a good Hombre...👍😎
I love the laughing Animal
Pictures you show on there. I love the Lexus Frog - it does look like that ugly front grille 😀 Brian Las Vegas.
I love the Chevrolet dealer he shows when he says "Junkyard".
😂😅
If any vehicle is gonna go up in price it’s the V6 Tacomas w/the 2GR-FKS. As cool as the new Taco looks, people want a bulletproof one.
Scotty Kilmer redemption arc 😂 but DIY is your friend with bimmers or find a Euro/BM specific shop and stay away from any 7 series after the E38.
@Scotty Kilmer When I or my aquaintances get lucky and find something that works, I tell them it was, "Made on a Wednesday". If you get one of those, it will be the best of those that there are. I knew a guy in 1992 that had a Yugo as a new car and had 180,000 miles. He loved that car. All made on a Wednesday, or a gift from the Lord.
Double in price - when? Examples that haven't been abused are already over $30K
Any research on the B58? Been hearing a lot of positive things about it…
It's amazing
very solid engine
Whats the model of the engine on this?
Also can someone suggest reliable engine models of BMW?
M57 in-line 6 cylinder
New b58 and s58 are the best engines
M50/S50 M52/S52 engines in E36 BMW's. The "s" engines are for the M cars. These are all inline 6 cylinders.
Yes, the real drivers' car, as Scotty said. A BMW M3 and a manual transmission.
Try a 2009 Z06 with a stick. You'll be trading in your M3 the next day.
Can't beat that handling, weight balance, smooth gearbox, and decently powerful engine. Anyone who says otherwise is a hater or doesn't know what they are talking about
Hey scotty, what do you think of the nissan frontier trucks? Can you please make some reviews 😊
If it's a manual gearbox it should be okay if it is an automatic either don't buy it or if you own it sell it before the transmission starts to clunk into gear at start up.
He likes the stick shift Frontiers, especially the four cylinder models
Shows a picture of a early C4 'Vette when he says a rich guys Corvette. The base C5,C6 and C7 Corvette's would eat a stock M series BMW for lunch.A damn near 30 year old C5 Z06 would walk all over a M3 and give a M5 a run for it's money.A stock M3,M5 couldn't touch a stock C6 or C7 let alone one with the Z06 option. And at damn near half the price.
You bet take care of it..
My cousin says you can never pay too much for a good used car. He knows because he sells them and has done so for 3 years!
Yeah but he's trying to make money as far as I know all of them work on a small retainer & make their money on upsell of the vehicles they sell so of course he would say that.
@07:31 imagine how that engine would perform if the mixture was correct. I bet it would be much stronger.
It's not that far off...people who think it's muc of an issue ,usually don't know much about cars
@@richsweeney1115 Yes, I am sure you are right that it is a problem with me we need to talk about, not the car since that is what I was talking about.
@@troy3456789 Running slightly rich usually won't impact performance more than maybe 1-3%. Although, he should get a proper exhaust and tune.
@@SomeOne_86 I'm pretty picky. I like the spark plugs to look tan-ish, and the tailpipe to be dry; and no trouble codes, and best performance.
@@troy3456789 I'd rather have a full standalone ECU programmed by a race shop for maximum power with a built engine and fully custom exhaust. But I understand where you're coming from, people like you take care of cars very well and that's admirable 👍
I assume this is a car that is seldom used and stands in the garage nearly the whole year.
My question (from an old folk) has nothing to do with cars: How can I get the same energy Scotty has????????
BMW's new NM (Non Money pit) division
I'll stick with my 98 328is 5 speed!
Best way to buy a BMW buy a Lexus or a 2012 and down Acura TL
These newer, BMW M3's from the late-2000's are nice performance vehicles.
Older ones are more reliable
