Blitz Sports Network PSA: Always remember, the individuals who say "Michael Jordan didn't face great competition in his era" are trying to tell you something IMPORTANT. They are trying to tell you that they didn't watch the Michael Jordan era, and there are much better things you could be doing with your time rather than listening to their takes on an era they didn't even watch. Would you go to someone for an opinion on Shakespeare if they had never seen the plays Macbeth, Hamlet, or Othello? Of course you wouldn't. Consider the source. Nobody who watched that era would trash the talent all around the league. Michael Jordan played in a great era with a great blend of fierce competitors, awe inspiring athletes, lock down defenders, knock down shooters, and ultra skilled ballers.

Those end stats were crazy. How many players in NBA history have in their entire career had a 45+ point game, a 5 block game, a 15 rebound game, a 6 steal game, and a 15 assist game? Maybe 10? And Jordan did it in his first 50 games! Before he started to pace himself on defense he was a beast, best ever weakside cover defender surely

The thing with Jordan was he had no weakness. There were probably quite a few superstars as good as Jordan in maybe one category but no one was even close with everything and that includes LeBron. Many people that played with Jordan claim that if he played in todays game the way it's played now he would average 50. It's hard to say what LeBron would do in Michele's era but chances are he wouldn't have near the success he has now.

Poor Jordan. He would have not had to go thru the beatings he took had BULLS management not traded: ARTIS GILMORE, REGGIE THEUS, COBY DIETRICK, LARRY KENON, etc. & others, b 4 he arrived in 1984. The BULLS just lost 3-0 to the CELTICS in 1981. Jordan was uh freshman at UNC. THE SHOT! didn't happen until early 1982. Jordan could've left UNC THEN! He had NUTHIN! to prove. Helped UNC get uh national for the 1st time in 25YEARS! Since 1957. So, the DUMB BULLS!, after LOSING! to Boston in 1981, let the players get traded, most went to San Antonio, got nuthin in return, except to get uh HIGH DRAFT PICK: 3YEARS LATER! in 1984. That high draft pick turned out to be: MICHAEL JORDAN.

After watching him play for the first time I was hooked and rarely missed a game during his career with Chicago. He had no limits because he was never satisfied and made sure to add something every off season.

I'm a born and raised Chicagoan who saw Jordan from his rookie season on. I remember when in the summer they had summer league games where great pros, college, and high school players would team up and just put on a show for people for free. Jordan was at a LOT of those games. And he always played just as hard then. He put on a show at those games. There were plenty of 60 point-plus performances then. I really enjoyed your statistical matchup analysis with you using only 50 0f Jordan's rookie season stats compared to the full 82 game MVP seasons of players from 2009 to 2021. To me, it just further illustrates what I already know....Michael Jeffrey Jordan is the greatest player of the past 50 years at the very least. In my opinion, he's the greatest of all time.

U said something then - I was born in 81 so I sort of missed the 1985 - 1987 Micheal Jordan simple because of my age and not being in tuned to basketball - but around 1988 I started seeing glimpses of Jordan and highlights - my uncle's were hatting big time - they kept talking about somebody name Doctor J lol - by 1990 I was watching the NBA and Jordan every chance I could get - still remember almost crying when the bulls lost to Detroit in 90 in the ECF - my uncle's were in love with the (Bad Boys) now - they were playing football on a basketball court but I was the only person in the house that could see this, I guess - by the time the 1993 season was over my uncle's were so jealous - (he is just a man - he put his pants on one leg at time just like I do) lol - I remember one of my uncle's saying that 😄 - then I was buying getting 4 or 5 pair Air Jordan shoes a year by the time 1998 season was over - ( y'all just making that man rich - ain't no different in my 30 dollars shoes than those ugly ass Jordans you got on) - that is what my uncle was trying to convince to me lol - you are right tho - Jordan was a different BEAST and my uncle's knew it even though they would not admit it - hell a 8 year old kid could see it, then I know dam well they could see it - I miss the late 80s and 90s so bad - not just because of MJ but because of the music, fashion, movies, the whole culture

Leflop would have jumped and thrown himself halfway across the court,...then grabbed his head and eyes, and roll a few times. He has absolutely no place at the goat table. We need to take over all the airwaves and streaming services and just blast all these old vids and facts about jordan from the early years to shut down these newheads thinking that all these chumps are even close to the greats of the 80s and 90s. Kobe, iverson, carter,...are about the last people to even get close to MJ in terms of anything. Nobody in today's league is even in the same universe

You forget how dominant he was. Coming out of college he was an above-average mid-range shooter and below average from deep.....and he STILL could put up 35-45 against any team and any defender any night. When he developed into a great mid-range shooter and an average deep threat he was absolutely unstoppable. If he had those shooting skills when he was a rookie he would have put up Wilt level numbers.

No, it wasn't that no one would give him the ball. IT called it because Jordan had showed up wearing Nike instead of his team warmups. IT was jealous of MJ his whole career because Jordan got more love than IT in Chicago. It was all ego and pettiness. The gratifying thing about this video is watching Jordan toy with Thomas. Thomas was helpless against him and he knew it. Jordan knew it too. Never saw this game before. Thomas fouling out was the cherry on top.

Mike was so quick back then. He could go left or right and that lil dancing stutter step he does at full speed is gorgeous. On defense he was always on the prowl, he could wander off his man and still lock them up no problem. What I would pay to have all his games in todays hi def tv. His jump shot was still a lil shaky but you could just see the leap of talent over other players.
