    This rare clip video was stored in the closet of a relative thru marriage. At the time Uncle Ziggy recorded it at Palisades Park with his 8 millimeter camera. It was then placed in the closet for some decades till my son Tom got a hold of it. Jim Petrecca put it on the web and added one of our songs. It was filmed in 1962. On it we have the "True" founding members of The Duprees. Joey Canzano also known as Joey Vann, Joe Santollo, John Salvato, Mike Arnone and myself Tom Bialoglow.

      @@jamest681 Oh yes! Uncle Chub was always a presence in our lives. As kids, we had no idea he was so famous, not because we weren't told that he sang with a group but because he was just our regular uncle. He was so handsome and he would always play with us. There was so many of us - as you know he was one of 13 siblings. My Mom was his oldest sister. Their Mom (my grandmother) died as a very young age, and My Mom basically raised all the siblings until they reached an age of independence. They all were very close and we always listened to his songs on the radio and records. I have his 45's - till this day we are always listening to him and always have his songs play at family gatherings.

    Thank you for that priceless film clip! Brought me right back as if it were the very first time when I was there at 7 years old, admiring my brother Johnny 'du-wopping' on stage with the other four who used to endlessly practice their songs down in our parents' basement, first in Jersey City, then in Bayonne. What an exciting era to give opportunity to many singing groups like our beloved Duprees to share their musical talents that have and will live throughout the decades passed and years to come. Brother Johnny, you're still lookin' good, forever young.

    This was in Palisades Park. Ah Gee 55 years ago, where did it all go Jim. Kind of somber watching though. R.I.P. Joey, Mike, Joe and Michael, you look here at their young and vibrant faces full of life so hard to believe they're gone from us -- I still haven't gotten back to 38th Street Park, LOL, but I do have my memories -- so young all of us then.

    • @EHDROCK
      @EHDROCK Před 7 lety +4

      Yeah, awh, ya know its so hard to look at them in this film cause I see them, I see Joey, he's alive and I want so much to touch him again, but I can't! I see them as I remember them, alive and well and young and vibrant, they loved what they did and they did it well. I see them as I remember them but knowing most of them are gone from us makes it more painful to view. You want so much to reach out and touch them, but it can't happen and you're so sad. Joey was my very first boyfriend, oh its long one indeed, but he was there right up until one day he said to me he was getting married, and err, oh boy, I watched him drive away and I never saw him again. I thought that life would find him, happy, perhaps relaxing on a porch with his wife and maybe some grand kids, in 2010 I learn he's dead in 1984. Its a long one indeed. But when I look a this clip, I see them, and they're alive and are as I remember them when I was young, and its hurts, I just want them back, ya know? But i can't get them back. this was just before I met Joey, I met him in December of 1962 at a School Dance, but seeing them perform here and they are them, and they are alive and I can see them, ya know what I mean. I just want them back.

Are you kidding me, I don't understand I wish I could, I just can't. Who would want to forget Joey's voice and replace it with Tommy Petillo's, the guy doesn't even come close to any of them. Come on. God protect the name of the Duprees, make the frauds disappear, I cannot bear them ruining my Joey Bear, please, make them go away.
