I am to be confused... Are we just talking about recent novels else also about very old legends ?

It could be both, George is good at having stories repeat or echo each other from the lore to current times in the book.

I did not try yet to read the novels @chaosangel123 , but when watching the serie, I noticed a lot of old legends and may be some truthes from the past...
What I can't figure out is if "Jenny of old stones" was existing before GøT ? I would be pleased if some have any answer.
(I may be particularly interested in all old stones and legends related to them)
