Light It Like Jeff: Model In a Box | Ep 23

We’re gonna think INSIDE the box today with Nashville photographer Jeff Carpenter and model Allee Sutton. They’re designing this photoshoot after the 60s with white go-go boots, a fitted flower-patterned shift dress, and plenty of geometric shapes.
The key light is a Profoto B10 with a snoot for a hard-light 60s look to light the inside of the V-Flat box that Allee Sutton is in. To cut down on contrast, another V-Flat on camera right is bouncing light from a second B10 while also pulling double duty as a flag to keep the bounced light from blowing out the circular designs from the optical snoot on camera left.
Pro Tip: Check out minute 2:28 to see how Jeff cleverly looks out for Allee by providing her with a hidden laptop out of the camera’s view but placed where Allee can see and get a feel for her poses as they shoot. This streamlines the photoshoot and makes things run a lot quicker.
