@Demonetized Dreams That's not what they said - if one couldn't sleep or was sick. They obviously are happy in their second marriage, which is what they alluded to as being "used" in her comment above. Marriage is great if you have God in it.
Thanks for review ! I have my own. Unlike traditional foam mattresses, Purple displaces your body weight providing more of a rounded contour. The contour is similar to latex, but the bounce and responsiveness is even quicker than latex.
I will def follow up. Looks like the sheets are back-ordered 4-6 weeks. Mattress should come in about 3-ish. I also got the mattress cover and the frame. I really needed everything!

It appears to me that the report cannot be taken at full face value...
Ok there's a simple solution if you have concerns: don't buy a Purple mattress. Although if you read the reviews there are a ton of people (like us) who love it. Has there been a single person with actual problems? Or is it someone who worked for the competition that decided to try to discredit the company? It's easy to say when you have zero experience with the mattress. I'm willing to change my opinion if there are any signs of health issues. I'm more concerned about the chemicals most mattresses have on them to make them fire resistant than I am about the powder.

Not sure if you realized this or not, but a California King is actually smaller by like 4 square inches than a standard king. California kings are narrower, yet longer. Based on the comment you made in your video, it seemed to me you may have thought a California king was somehow bigger than a standard king.

love it, the purple layer of egg crate looking rubber material is the entire difference. it responds instantly and doesn't have a memory. only thing i don't like is that overall the mattress is thinner than i would have liked but it doesn't effect function, just height when on a platform bed. sleeps nicely. would buy it again no question. coming from a guy that is 6'2" 260 that was having back problems on spring mattress and hated pure memory foam cause i would sink into it.
Yes, that's true. The Purple is only 10 inches deep and most mattresses are more like 12 inches. That was an adjustment for me too at the beginning. I'm with you on memory foam. I can't stand sinking in and feeling stuck, plus how it slowly warms up where you sink in. It's a very odd feeling! I recently slept on a memory foam mattress and I missed Purple. Now if they could just make it a bit taller but I pity the person who would have to move it! It's already so heavy as it is. Thanks for your comment!

Did you guys have any adjustment period issues? We are on day 3 and both of our backs feel stiff in the morning. It feels great when going to bed, perfect support, but we wake up sore I guess since we're not used to it. (We went from a soft bed with no support)
R.J. Ronquillo oh yes, my adjustment period was rough. I wasn't sure I could write a review. I was sleep deprived and didn't like it. That lasted almost 2 weeks. Stephen didn't have any problem adjusting but since you're coming from a soft bed you're probably going to have a longer adjustment. I don't see how to avoid it. I'm afraid of sleeping on memory foam after Purple (for testing purposes).

I got this bed 4 days ago, I know there is an 30 day adjustment period but I can’t get comfortable when sleeping on my side. I wake up with neck and shoulder pain. Back sleeping is fine but I am 80% of the time on my side and this bed is just far too firm for me. I really wanted to love this purple bed, I’m disappointed that I might need to return it....
Annette Carr it took me about 12 days to adjust however I never experienced any pain. Maybe it's not a good fit for you. Mattresses are so individual and that's what the sleep trial is for. Hope you find the right bed for you!

Ok so we actually upgraded to a Purple4 king but that was several months ago. When we took it off the bed it looked and felt like the day we got it. The Purple4 is more luxurious for sure but we were happy with the original. No changes at all that we could detect.

From multiple angles they appear to be paid influencers.
andrewonaboat no compensation at all. Not reimbursement, not free trips, etc. It's standard practice to get free product and materials (photos, graphs, etc). Like anyone you can drive to their headquarters and take pictures of the cross section, which I did. Most of mine are original photographs, not from Purple. I've purchased their products also, like the pillows. I'm a big fan of this mattress, regardless. I haven't yet found one I like more. Voila is my second favorite but it lacks the cushioning of the gel. Most of the time the way you make a mattress softer or more cushy is to add memory foam, which I don't like the feel and properties of.

@@HappyHouseReviews your asking me at an interesting time. I went out at the time looking for a very supportive mattress (IE, firm), but somehow ended up with a purple4 - which is very soft. I'm a hybrid back/side sleeper who is heavier then average and has back issues so it's hard to know what sort of mattress would be best. I am just now recovering from a pinched nerve root from a herniated disk causing extreme pain down the leg (sciatica). The whole episode lasted about a month (so far). At it's worst, for about a week I couldn't even stand up. The only position I could tolerate is lying flat on the floor with my knees up (feet flat on floor) or with my feet up on a chair, to the point I had bruises and raw skin on my back from being on the floor. Eventually I as able to make it to my spare room and sleep on a yoga mat with a pad on it, then eventually on my spare matress, which is firmer, but couldn't tolerate sleeping on the purple for long, somehow the hip angle wasn't right with regards to the pressure on the nerve. Only just in the last few days have I been on the purple again. It feels wonderful. But, just because if feels soft, does that make it the right mattress for me? Surely it's not the root cause of what happened, but does it help or hurt? Should I have continued my pursuit of a firmer mattress like some brands that promise to offer support to people over 250lbs? This is really hard to say, and something I still struggle with. Funny enough my dad, who stayed over a couple nights, was surprised by the mattress, saying that other than his select comfort it was the only other matress he'd found he could be comfortable in. My mom on the other hand, complained that it was the worst, least supportive mattress she had even slept on, and said "It's like a waterbed".

Sophia B. Williams actually we just have two. They are actually the same price as the one king size mattress that we replaced - it was over $3k and lasted about 8 years. As stated they were part of compensation for contract work I did with Purple. They want anyone they work with to test their mattress first. The actors in their commercial also got a Purple mattress. When we got a mattress this whole thing was very new and a lot of people asked us what we thought. So we made this video.

What brands of box spring and wood frame did you have under your Purple in this video? I ask because I live alone and have the original purple mattress in a king like it appears you have here. But it's directly on a very sturdy wooden slate bed frame. I don't feel the wooden slats thru my purple mattress, but I do feel the wide wooden mid support that goes from the head of the bed down to the foot. I think it's 2" wide. Not only that, but with that frame, the purple mattress creates valleys on either side of that mid support when I try to sleep on one side or another, with the valleys not a symmetrical V or U, but tilting me toward the outside of the bed. I think I need either a box spring between the purple and frame, or a different frame, or both.
We actually just used our box springs we already had. Purple recommends a foundation or frame with slats 2 or 3 inches apart. I can't remember which but closer together. This is a heavy bed. I like Zinus brand on Amazon or Classic Brands. I've purchased two Zinus brand frames and have been happy with them. They're a good value. amzn.to/2JUchD1 is my link if you want to check them out.
I wish I could find a review of a purple mattress done by someone who has had spinal fusion surgery. It is highly difficult for me to sleep comfortably and I am so tired of waking up in lots and lots of pain.
It's really tough to compare experiences because everyone is so unique. However, our good friends bought a Purple and were super skeptical because he (the husband) had such horrible back pain. He woke up in so much pain every morning they wanted something that would make it neutral or better instead of worse. I do want to interview them but they're very happy with their Purple. She doesn't have back pain but she slept really warm and she like the temperature neutral property of Purple. My friend who has had back surgery had to get an adjustable bed because she had to work in bed and it needed to support her back. She already had a mattress. I highly recommend a Purple mattress and their Powerbase or an adjustable frame. You can sleep in zero-g which is the position that takes the most pressure off your body and was used by NASA to help astronauts get the most relief and best circulation while in space.

Yes we're big fans and may never go back to a traditional brand again. There's nothing like the grid and now that they made a higher end model that's thicker, it's even better.

Ok so we actually upgraded to a Purple4 king but that was several months ago. When we took it off the bed it looked and felt like the day we got it. The Purple4 is more luxurious for sure but we were happy with the original. No changes at all that we could detect.

I'd like to know what compensation, beyond the affiliate link, has been provided to the authors / Newspaper Mom. The posts on the blog read like a marketing pitch, they have access to products and such (eg. mattress cross-sections) that make me dubious about the review being legitimate. From multiple angles they appear to be paid influencers.
andrewonaboat no compensation at all. Not reimbursement, not free trips, etc. It's standard practice to get free product and materials (photos, graphs, etc).
Like anyone you can drive to their headquarters and take pictures of the cross section, which I did. Most of mine are original photographs, not from Purple. I've purchased their products also, like the pillows.
I'm a big fan of this mattress, regardless. I haven't yet found one I like more. Voila is my second favorite but it lacks the cushioning of the gel. Most of the time the way you make a mattress softer or more cushy is to add memory foam, which I don't like the feel and properties of.
I can sleep on so many mattresses that I've gotten free and tested. This is the mattress we sleep on. Voila is in our guest room.

@@HappyHouseReviews your asking me at an interesting time. I went out at the time looking for a very supportive mattress (IE, firm), but somehow ended up with a purple4 - which is very soft. I'm a hybrid back/side sleeper who is heavier then average and has back issues so it's hard to know what sort of mattress would be best.
I am just now recovering from a pinched nerve root from a herniated disk causing extreme pain down the leg (sciatica). The whole episode lasted about a month (so far). At it's worst, for about a week I couldn't even stand up. The only position I could tolerate is lying flat on the floor with my knees up (feet flat on floor) or with my feet up on a chair, to the point I had bruises and raw skin on my back from being on the floor. Eventually I as able to make it to my spare room and sleep on a yoga mat with a pad on it, then eventually on my spare matress, which is firmer, but couldn't tolerate sleeping on the purple for long, somehow the hip angle wasn't right with regards to the pressure on the nerve. Only just in the last few days have I been on the purple again. It feels wonderful.
But, just because if feels soft, does that make it the right mattress for me? Surely it's not the root cause of what happened, but does it help or hurt? Should I have continued my pursuit of a firmer mattress like some brands that promise to offer support to people over 250lbs? This is really hard to say, and something I still struggle with.
Funny enough my dad, who stayed over a couple nights, was surprised by the mattress, saying that other than his select comfort it was the only other matress he'd found he could be comfortable in. My mom on the other hand, complained that it was the worst, least supportive mattress she had even slept on, and said "It's like a waterbed".

I liked the wonderful genuine review on Purple Mattress. I loved the matters a lot. California kings are narrower, yet longer. Based on the comment you made in your video, it seemed to me you may have thought a California king was somehow bigger than a standard king. Keep it up though.

Sophia B. Williams actually we just have two. They are actually the same price as the one king size mattress that we replaced - it was over $3k and lasted about 8 years.
As stated they were part of compensation for contract work I did with Purple. They want anyone they work with to test their mattress first. The actors in their commercial also got a Purple mattress. When we got a mattress this whole thing was very new and a lot of people asked us what we thought. So we made this video.

What brands of box spring and wood frame did you have under your Purple in this video? I ask because I live alone and have the original purple mattress in a king like it appears you have here. But it's directly on a very sturdy wooden slate bed frame. I don't feel the wooden slats thru my purple mattress, but I do feel the wide wooden mid support that goes from the head of the bed down to the foot. I think it's 2" wide. Not only that, but with that frame, the purple mattress creates valleys on either side of that mid support when I try to sleep on one side or another, with the valleys not a symmetrical V or U, but tilting me toward the outside of the bed. I think I need either a box spring between the purple and frame, or a different frame, or both.
We actually just used our box springs we already had. Purple recommends a foundation or frame with slats 2 or 3 inches apart. I can't remember which but closer together. This is a heavy bed.
I like Zinus brand on Amazon or Classic Brands. I've purchased two Zinus brand frames and have been happy with them. They're a good value. amzn.to/2JUchD1 is my link if you want to check them out.
I wish I could find a review of a purple mattress done by someone who has had spinal fusion surgery. It is highly difficult for me to sleep comfortably and I am so tired of waking up in lots and lots of pain.
It's really tough to compare experiences because everyone is so unique. However, our good friends bought a Purple and were super skeptical because he (the husband) had such horrible back pain. He woke up in so much pain every morning they wanted something that would make it neutral or better instead of worse. I do want to interview them but they're very happy with their Purple. She doesn't have back pain but she slept really warm and she like the temperature neutral property of Purple.
My friend who has had back surgery had to get an adjustable bed because she had to work in bed and it needed to support her back. She already had a mattress.
I highly recommend a Purple mattress and their Powerbase or an adjustable frame. You can sleep in zero-g which is the position that takes the most pressure off your body and was used by NASA to help astronauts get the most relief and best circulation while in space.

Yes we're big fans and may never go back to a traditional brand again. There's nothing like the grid and now that they made a higher end model that's thicker, it's even better.
