This would make a great upgrade to my Honda Civic and Honda lawnmower. It would complete the trifecta. 😂
This wasn't just great history, it's inspiring actually. Great stuff. Hope he makes a good sale!
Came to see the jet, stayed to hear this mans inspirational story! Thank you bro
From lawnmowers to Jet Honda has amazing engineering and build quality. When the Honda Jet was introduced I thought was a well thought out and elegant aircraft.
Great job, Mike for collaborating with the Big Guys in the industry.
I'm just an old retired Air Force master sergeant who was never able to get a pilot's license but was lucky enough to do a lot of flying - mostly in old UH-1H helicopters as an airborne fireteam leader, escorting nuclear weapons convoys. Videos like this allow me to live vicariously.
That's awesome. I flew the UH-1H in US Army flight school during primary & instruments. That thing was indestructible
Nice to watch him, I would prefer the yoke to a BMD as well, at least once in a while.
Mike these pilot stories where they present their path and airplanes is the best material that you make for YT, very interesting, keep them coming!
Yes, the Cheetah was a great plane. I trained in a Yankee and bought an AA5B. I still have it today.
Love the P1D shout-out.
What an incredibly fascinating wee vid. An amazing man, with such eloquence, who's passion and enthusiasm is so evident. An absolute joy to listen to him.
Wow! What an amazing career and love for aircraft. Thank you MG for sharing Tim's story. Its is really inspiring and makes me strive more for my ambition to get my licenses to fly.
Thanks. Go do it!
Good for him. He’s filthy rich but humble. Stay safe!
Hah. We say "comfortable". But I also know that it's all just temporary. Thanks again for following along.
Wow, what a sweet looking jet
I watch blue max 6 quite frequently as well as Mike. This video was a special treat. Thanks gentlemen!
Thanks for watching!
Tim Solms left the military and has worked at Dell, Microsoft and Dun & Bradstreet, as well as some side businesses.
This is a great video of a true HondaJet enthusiast!
Army Aviation is the real deal; you don't need a bachelor degree. For those who love to fly, the Army Warrant Officer program shouldn't be overlooked. I retired from the Army Nurse Corps, all of my education and credentials are paid for my the military.
Spot on
Problem is you're stuck for 12 years dealing with military bureaucracy and fuck-fuck games. 2 years flight training then mandatory 10 year service obligation.
CWO requires a bachelors degree. Retired 20+ years, multiple air frames, and got all my college paid for. Those who think the bureaucracy is only in the military are living under a rock.
@@Recklessness97 Well , look at it this way: 24 years serving your country, an aviation career which you can carry forward in civilian life after retiring , for a few more years. Maybe it is not for you, but for others it is a dream come true.
@@jjsifo1 Constant deployments, barley home, barley seeing family, missing birthdays, anniversaries, life events, fuck-fuck games, hard to settle down with a family and if you do have a family it's added stress on the relationship and children who have to change schools and make new friends all the time. The military doesn't give a shit about you. The military owns you for the length of your commitment and they don’t hesitate to remind you of that. If you want a “career”, you play their stupid games by their stupid rules and kiss the right asses or out you go…career over. People who are good, realize after 5-6 years they can go elsewhere/ leave the military, be treated much better, have a better life for them and their family and get paid a lot more while having to deal with much less of the stupid bullshit and having more control over your life, schedule and family situation. The vast majority of career military officers I’ve seen, didn’t finish their career with their original spouse because the military basically makes you choose…your career or your family…which is your higher priority? Yeah it's okayish if you're young and have no family of your own but most people don't make it to 20 years because of all the stated reasons above plus more.
this guy was great! love his story and humility and how seriously he seems to have taken every bit of his training and piloting.
As a former 64D/E IP/MTP/Safety guy that served in the same places I can respect the "Blue Max" history. I retired in 19 and have not been able to fly much and its a struggle, seeing someone fly my dream jet is cool but but a bit depressing lol good on him, I have a dream so some day.
This is indeed inspiring.
To hear him mention where I live, which is Tortola was shocking lol, made me smile.
Awesome video, look forward to hearing more about your journey
Its rare when you can get great story telling along with great info. Nice!!
Thanks. I really appreciate it.
Hi... I did the same but in the Uk military....similar route. Loved flying.. Then left to run an aviation company for near 50 years. I am interested in the Honda, might just buy one this summer. Nice to see your machine flying
I love this guy because he's a fellow military vet. He's also inspirational, because my business is on a very similar trajectory, and our actual business need is rather a cute. His story makes this that much more exciting.
Great job Mike! Thanks for introducing us to this gentleman! And great job as always sir
Thanks @rowdygrunt. Much respect for that name too!
Love your channel! Phenomenal episode! You feature really neat folks on this channel.
Having disposable income and time is key.
"Novosel" = Fort Rucker for the older folks.
Mother Rucker for real Aviators
❤.....mojo ...hitting you up as soon as I get money...love your channel ❤ I consider you a very trustworthy guy
Honda makes jet aircraft.
Unsurprisingly, it's awesome.
What a rich aviation career, I'm envious! 😁
Great video! Enjoyed the history and aviation discussion. 😎
Thank you for sharing your past history which was very interesting. Nice jet. Love that honda jet.
I’ve been watching Greg (Premier1Driver) for a number of years, great content!
@premier1driver is a total Baller. I learned so much by watching & studying his videos.
Good way to reduce your tax liability and pay for family vacations. Yeah, we know the games boys.
“Why I traded my geo for a lambo”
Love these stories. More please.
The variable costs are considerably more with the jet.
Great video, even better story about your service and passion for flying. New subscriber !
Thanks.
What a nice and remarkable man. Loved this video.
I see that Honda Pilot in the background :) Nice story! Thank you for sharing
Been waiting for this. I love the Honda Jet
Awesome! This is the content we need
First, congratulations , a great aviation career , I can tell how honest you are by your humility and dignity and demeanor.Thank you for your service. My aviation career of 40 years included several commuter outfits until by sheer dumb luck I joined a Police Dept. back in '88 looking for Pilots flying Special Mission Aircraft (turboprops) doing maritime surveillance in the caribbean. Then I flew helcopters when that program was over , loved the BK117. Will follow you along in this channel. Thank You.
Thanks so much for your kind words and for following along. Very grateful.
@@bluemaxsix you are welcome.
GO ARMY! Class 91-01 Orange hats...
91-19...Maroon
Great history, love it.
Congrats on the jet. Im a retired Blackhawk pilot here at FT Rucker. Fly Army.
💪 Never flew the UH-60 but what a great platform. Hey, I heard they closed Larry's BBQ in Daleville?! That's the end of the true Mother Rucker.
@@bluemaxsix They did. Just in Enterprise now. They also brought back the colored class hats. My wife went to high school with the current CG. I think he was the one to push for it. Will always be mother rucker for me. I was one of the last huey flight school classes. I went in 1995.
@@robertsmithUH60driver I was 91-19 (Multi-Track). Maroon hats
@@bluemaxsix Orange 95-? for me.
I've spoken to a number of pilots that have flown both Apaches and Cobras, all have told be the older Cobra is the better aircraft. I don't remember their reasons why at this point.
Probably having the fuel tanks flanking the cockpit
God bless you Sir Max. #salute!!!!!
Grateful. Thank you.
Love my HJet in MSFS
How do you know he's an Apache pilot, "He'll tell you he's an Apache pilot."
Guess what...I'm an Apache Pilot! 😀
you must have really deep deep pockets. In the sim do a no auto-pilot for an entire flight. things do break, and just to be safe make sure you can handle something moving that fast by yourself.
Outstanding! Lucky guy.
Thank you for sharing ypur beautiful aircraft. And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.😊
Excelente video 📸 ty brother 🙌🏻🛩️🛬🛬✈️🇺🇸
Dark Arrow is a new interesting aircraft company.
I'm going to go check it out. Thanks for the tip.
BIG GUNS... Blu Max6
Thanks
Great video…..
Love this
Business degree was key to all of this
thanks
Business use is tax write off for personal use.
You're my neighbor, I'm in Traverse City...
TVC! Great town.
Been to Harbor Springs airport flying charter great area
What is Tim's business that he is able to afford a small jet?
Rucker.
Agree. Always Mother Rucker to me.
Very cool!
Goood video!
So much jealousy in the comments section here it makes me sad.
Let's support private general aviation! ❤
Awesome storytelling. If you dont like content like this, dont comment. 🎉🎉
Thanks. It's all good. I'm just grateful.
Is he also now selling this Honda Jet too!?
Yes, check out the description on this video.
What part did I miss between leaving the military and buying a Piper Malibu and a jet?
Great story. I would choose the Piaggio Ivanti myself.
Avanti*
Absolute ancient avionics. Terrible choice.
Hondajet uses less fuel
@@PC-vq5ud Piaggio cheaper to work on Turbo props and carries 9 people. So definitely a trade off.
Cool!!!
Wonder what business he's in.
He's a Honda Pilot that has a Honda Pilot.
Is there a copilot when you’re flying? Or does your family get to die as well if you become incapacitated?
It's an amazing story but clearly this career was fueled by affluence and Military service. How does a regular civilian get here? Just the expense of getting the certs/ratings are crippling expenses.
Military Service - Yes.
Affluence - Absolutely not!
My military flying definetely cut the cost of PPL & Instrument to the minimums. To be honest, I just got lucky in business for which I'm incredibly grateful. Yes, I hustled like crazy but I worked with/for people who were 1) patient & 2) great at coaching.
Flying has been a passion for me and there were definitely years where it was a tight balance to pull it off, it I did at all.
Thanks
@@bluemaxsix “lucky in business” is exactly the kind of thing I’m talking about…more resources than most. No hate from me I’m just curious about the path for people who didn’t get “lucky in business” or have more resources regardless of the reason. This seems like an area of aviation that most aren’t going to reach if they’re starting from the bottom and as goes with a lot of similar careers I wish people would be more forthcoming about where the start point is and acknowledge that it’s just going to be out of reach for most. That doesn’t make the story less inspiring or interesting but it saves someone like me from thinking that it could be me lol. I can fly, but there will be limits…
Looks nice,
What's not nice is being stuck and restricted at 230 then 250 behind this thing on a SID
Hah. Yup. Thanks for your patience. Pedaling as fast as I can.
i have no doubt you must have been close or at the top of your class in high school. The Citadel is not for the faint of heart.
Thanks. The Citadel was an unforgettable challenge. I'm grateful for the experience...but to be honest, I struggled academically while doing very well on the military side. I just think I lacked maturity at that point.
@@bluemaxsix Wow, that's very inspiring, I bet you're an early riser too, get the most out of every day. I also changed "Citadel" to "The Citadel" my apologies. That's like people calling Indiana University, the "University of Indiana"
@@dabneyoffermein595 It's all good! Yep, I was just telling my daughters that I WISH I could sleep past 0400.
Wow you can sell seats as a private pilot in America?
Next up: why I traded my shitty apartment for a house. Uhm, because I could finally afford it. LOL
What do you do for a living?
Thanks for asking. I've been in tech since leaving the military. For the last 5-6 years, it's been mostly data and analytics. Lots of side-hustles - consulting, private equity, CZcams, etc.
Delicious living, i like it
Are you a RC aircraft pilot too…?
What type of business does he own, to be able to afford a hondajet?
มือสองก็ยังหาซื้อได้อยู่ที่ราคา4-5
Wonder what the annual salary you have to bring in to justify that level of expense. . .
I would guess salary is pretty low, ownership distributions from the business more like $500k+/year.
Though I would guess the plane is owned and operated through a business so its deducted and not affected by any salary.
Entirely speculation.
I have a Honda lawnmower...
Rather than a pure jet, I'd MUCH rather have the Piaggio P180 pusher turboprop. much cheaper to operate and only slightly less max cruise speed.
That's a great plane for sure - I looked at it closely.
This is just a honda ad
Minute 3:37 those are Soviet Russian fighter jets….
🤗
I’m selling my vision jet
I really don't get how many envious and hating people are commenting here.
MOOOOJOOOOOO!!! JET MAN BROOOOOOO!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!
Плохой ролик. Самолёт хороший.
Hey Mojo, some feedback... the stock footage that you put in your videos is horrendous. It looks very fake and disconnected from what the video is about. Take it as a constructive criticism please
You traded it
Because you have
The money !!!
I know why he will sell it.
Why?
"because I'm filthy rich"
There you go, no need to watch the video.
Why did I trade my Piper for a jet? Because I can afford to. End of video.
