    That boot looks great. Would love to see the black and brown super duty’s with red x outsole those light edges. I have black and brown and now I need those gray SDs!

    This is brilliant!!! Those boots must be so heavy you'd need to leave a half an hour earlier every day to be at work on time.

    So it takes 2 cows , 27 miles of thread , 1000 nails , half a car tire , 2 pounds of brass , and 8 guys to build 1 pair of boots ?

    Wow, what a boot. How would you lace up the flap on the boot? Not a welder, never seen something like it.

    • @jkbootsusa
      @jkbootsusa  Před rokem +1

      Thanks! Basically a standard lacing pattern but the laces will run through the two eyelets on the metguard!

    How much force does that leather press put out?

  • @frostywelder1220

    Great looking boots. I’m not a fan of the MetTarsal guard. I’m impressed either the thickness of the leather over the composite toe. Crawling around on concrete trying to build a excavator bucket can tear up a pair of boots over the toe.

    Do Jk boots have Goodyear welts? Where does the leather come from?

    • @jkbootsusa
      @jkbootsusa  Před rokem

      No we don't do Goodyear welts, and our leather is sourced in the USA!

    • @k.b.1759
      @k.b.1759 Před rokem +1

      @@jkbootsusa what kind of welts do you use?

    • @SolidGoldHedgehog
      @SolidGoldHedgehog Před rokem +1

      @@k.b.1759 They don't. It's stitchdown construction. Where a GYW boot tucks in the leather in the upper and attaches a welt around it, here they splay the leather out over the midsole and then stitch the two directly together. If you google 'stitchdown construction' you can find diagrams that visualise it very well.

      @@SolidGoldHedgehog is this good? I always thought a hand stitch welt on a boot was more preferred?

    • @SolidGoldHedgehog
      @SolidGoldHedgehog Před rokem +1

      @@k.b.1759 I'm not a boot maker but yes stitchdown is a great construction method. They both have their pros and cons but there's a reason the PNW brands use it, and they make some of the best and toughest boots in the world. Stitchdown is simpler, but actually better in many ways such as being more water resistant.

    CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TYPE LEATHER IS THAT??????
    ????PLEASE

    • @jkbootsusa
      @jkbootsusa  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The uppers are oil-tanned 8-9oz bovine leather, and the insole/midsole/shank is made from solid oak (or veg) tanned leather.

  • @sparksmobilerepair4025

    Ugh I shouldn't have watched this!! Can't wait till mine finally show up! Weird how tradesmen (or at least me) love well made custom work boots so much!
