As a measure of popularity, the Google search values of the Singer's name was used.
Unfortunately, the data that Google's search engine offers is not the number of searches of the specific term, but a graph from 0 to 100 where 100 represents the maximum search point of that term in the specified time, for this reason the values in the video are represented as percentages, since they are a percentage with respect to an arbitrarily selected reference point of 100.
Singers in Bands were included by their names, not by the band name.
This causes popular singers like Paul McCartney not to appear as commonly because they were better known as The Beatles

There was a study that estimated that 4.8 billion people around the world knew who michael jackson was and have at least heard one of his songs. This lead him to winning the guiness world record for MOST famous man on the planet in 2006 . 3 years before his death. His THIS IS IT tour was projected to gross over a billion dollar , which would have been 700,million dollars more then any of the competition at the time.
