Growing up Airborne had a bad habit of getting shot down in my sandbox. Was usually able to crash into a Cobra encampment or vehicle. I assure you it was quite heroic and deserving of many medals and awards.
Airborne used to be my favorite figure back when I was a kid. Good times...
Me too..then shipwreck for some reason..and of course snake eyes v2 with timber..
I still have my original Airborne. I also went Airborne and 82nd.

AIRBORNE! Omg I soooo forgot about him! He was another one of the originals and I also forgot he another indigenous soldier just like Spirit and Ace and Airborne is a telepath. He is best friends with Stalker, Duke and Flash. I think he's the only Joe I dont have but I'll get'm. Good job JLS! 👍💪👍
Mr. Talltree was my first GI Joe figure and still my second favorite Joe of all time.

I loved how the GI Joe team was multi-ethnic & represented many different people groups! I love the comics, etc. & really appreciate your videos!

I agree. Nobody made a big deal about it either. We just liked Stalker, Doc, and Roadblock because they were cool. Dee Jay not so much, but that had nothing to do with the color of his skin lol. There were also a few Hispanic dudes, like Grunt and Shipwreck, and I think Torpedo was Hawaiian.

@@andrewgrant2990 Yes! I always thought Spirit was a much better foil for Storm Shadow than Snake Eyes. Man that was when cartoons and toys were great…
Jason Martin : Yeh, Torpedo was Hawaiian. But I think maybe you're confusing Grunt with Zap, who I know was Puerto-Rican. In the comix, Larry Hama clearly intended Stalker to be Hawk's Number One, but HASBRO had other ideas. Dee-Jay? Well, he was a last minute addition to the unlamented Battle Force 2000, so whattaya expect?😁
Always luvd Airborne's versatility. Put him in a copter or fixed wing craft and he could be it's pilot, or gunner. He could deploy on a 'chute, glider or repel line. When he landed he could hang with the rangers. Then when he got back to base he could write up some legal briefs in prep for going to court! Oh, and then there was that "Far seeing look"/ESP thing.
And apparently Airborne is a genius lol 👍
Always loved Airborne. I like how he was Native American and not as much a stereotype that Spirit was.

One of my favorite Joe's,👍🏾 the Sunbow cartoon didn't show him enough, and had him with the wrong uniform on?🤷🏾
It was weird! You'd see him in that old uniform for a lot of the episodes, but then you'd see him in the uniform for the figure. It's like they couldn't figure out what to do with his character for the cartoon.
My favorite Joe as a kid! Still remember when I got the figure.

I love Airborne but his name is wrong. He’s actually Air Assault because he’s a helicopter rappel specialist, not someone who jumps from C5As.
agree he'd be close to a 101st Airborne Ranger if he was a Ranger.
Apparently he's very versatile as he's also a copter and fixed wing pilot. Is there even a single designation that covers everything he's been depicted doing?
