Hit that exact flute line last season with my wife who had never skied flute. Needless to say she was sold and will be back. Great skiing and energy as always. Thx for the stoke!
i never understand why people who drive up from vancouver for 2 hours, don't drive 10min longer to Blackcomb and take the gondola up there with max a 5min line.
Fantastic. You guys made it up to Symphony. You make it so easy. Now it's a big hike. Wow lot's of courage. Keep it up I'll be there after the new year. Happy New Year every one.......
That line was a downer, but wow when you got up there, those early runs with an amazing clear bright sky and fresh powder. I felt a bit envious as it looked soooo good!🇬🇧
nice. i luckily chose blackccomb on boxing day, though after i got my fresh lines i packed it in, turns out 4 days in a row of not enough sleep and touring each day makes your legs tired xD the real good stuff was thursday though, peak was SOOO deep
Deepest day? February 16, 2011. High alpine closed for 4 days & they had 2 metres of fresh. I couldn't believe they opened, but they bombed & up we went.
Looks like amazing pow! Hopefully the New Year brings lots of snow! Also looking forward to seeing your channel grow! 204,000 subscribers in 2024!! xD Ski Fast! Burn Ass!
Just want to say thank you for responding to my video asking if you could put your speed and gradient in the corner. If its not possible no worries, just thought I would give you and idea. Have a good new year. God bless you.
Really appreciate that! I've been using the Deorum Apollo Freeride Ski Poles. They have been bombproof so far and the grips are slick. They are owned and designed by two awesome freeride skiers from Whistler. Here's the link if you feel like checking them out. They also have sweet basket go pro mount compatibility and an extra mount for the top of the pole! www.deorumski.com/discount/RISENALPINE Alos got a discount code RISENALPINE for 5% off your order if you feel like copping them.
those poles do look really good. am going to save up for a pair. thanks for the discount code. i hope i’ll get up to Whistler for a weekend this season (i ski at Stevens) and bump into you. would love to hit a shot of hot sauce with you
If Symphony is open Flute is typically open but there is still a sign at the bottom of the hike you can check. If Symphony is closed, it's best to treat Flute as Backcountry unless you have intel from the patrollers.
These lift lines are the, main reason I don't think I will be back to whistler. The snow was pretty good on blackcomb but lines were a nightmare. At fernie this new year and lift lines are non existent. Could use some new snow though
Thanks Andrew! Always love hearing peoples opinion on the angles. I try and shake it up a little bit or just use the footage from the one that get's less covered in snow LOL. Head cam captures speed less but shows the terrain better I find
Best CZcamsr ever, can’t go wrong with rise and alpine always makes the ski season feel 10 x better
Thanks brother!
True. I love rise and alpine!❤
Who doesn’t love a rise and alpine post❤❤❤
Thanks :) :)

Glad you've had a Flute experience like this Chris.. It's almost spiritual skiing down it with conditions like that!
i never understand why people who drive up from vancouver for 2 hours, don't drive 10min longer to Blackcomb and take the gondola up there with max a 5min line.
they might want to ski Whistler, lines are usually less crazy at Creekside. On that day, all the lifts did not open until 10.
creekside parking is free haha
Getting stuck in traffic from Blackcomb at the end of the day can suck
@@darian.c.cso is blackcomb
Yes, and then take the peak to peak gondola. Much faster.
A epic video with lots of powder detail - thanks for posting. Nothing like that here on the east coast - All the best and God Bless. 🙏❤🇺🇸
Thanks for watching Joe!

Happy New year JF! See ya up there soon :)
your ability to make a crowded day work is impressive...happy new year
Happy new year Jason! Some days the flow works great, others there are loads of hiccups, but the more ya get out, the more chances for solid pow!
Legend! Glad to see Whistler looking so good!!! Hyped to ski when back from the holidays! We got a couple good days out in the rockies.
You were out in the rockies? Can't wait to hear about it!
That line was a downer, but wow when you got up there, those early runs with an amazing clear bright sky and fresh powder. I felt a bit envious as it looked soooo good!🇬🇧
If you push through the adversity Whistler always provides!
Oh yeah.......
Skiing is back!!
Yeeeewwww!!!!!!
Every day is feeling a bit better!
Dude - Good for you. Out here in the East ( Attitash, Wildcat ) we have grass….G.R.A.S.S
C'mon snow! Give the Easterners what they need!
I just saw a clip from one of your videos on CBC while they were talking about the lack of snow. You're a local celebrity!
LOL - no way! Got a good laugh from Whistlers response to the clip!
Wow, a lineup all the way to Hyw 99, watch out for the bus! Looks like you got a nice snowfall (dump) for Christmas.Keep up the good work James.
Happy New Year Paul!

That sounds like a dream... Would love to see some videos from this day.
@@riseandalpine or video from any day in 1998. That was an enormous snow year.
Glad you guys got some snow.
Mee Too! It's looking way better up there.
The lines are nuts.
The ski lines or the lift lines 😂 I'm going to guess you're talking about the Lifts lines 😂
bahahaha, Rob biffing it on the lift 😂😂😂😂
Best part of the day, without a doubt
Viral clip, and then back to it like another day in the office. I like it!
Hahaha.. Getting in that content flow LOL
It’s gonna keep getting better and better. I can’t wait to get up there soon!
The stoke is getting stronger!
That pow looks awesome! Wish I could find something like that, but now that symphony is open there’s not very much left over there.
Dang! It get's skied out quick at Whistler

Thanks for the idea. Working on figuring it out!
I love your videos so much, ill ski at whisler & Bc one day
I hope you get to ski here too!
Good things come to those who wait! Where abouts were you when you were scoochjng home?
That was in Adagio!
i need to follow you down this stuff soon!
Totally dude! I'm always finding it :)
Best Ski videos out there rn! Also congrats for 20k subs 🎉
Thanks Lee! 2024 is going to be the best year yet!
you should Go to mount Washington
You doing this pow while my dad chickened out of little Whistler and my friend fell on the last part of harmony piste with one ski **
LOL
That ending😂
Rob got owned hahahaa
was there same day at harmony too. worth it in the end!
Glad you got the goods too!
Let’s go!
Good Lord. I skiid the 24th and 25th there... it was honestly decent... and there was 0 line. That line is crazy.
Glad you got some turns in without lines. It was a fairly mellow Christmas break all things considered.
Nice ❄️
love your videos. always fun. thank you. what poles do you use?

Looked sick!!
Such an epic day!
Your jumps are so good! Where did you find all this pow because my friend and I had to ski through some bad slush 😢
All on Harmony and Flute
RIP Rob :(
Some say he's still laying at the base of the garbo chair
"super icy"
East coast ski says, "hold my beer"
Hahaha very true!
damn...
that's a pitcher rob
Sick video. Quick Q for ya, had flute been avy controlled at that time? If they open symphony does flute always have to be cleared first?
If Symphony is open Flute is typically open but there is still a sign at the bottom of the hike you can check. If Symphony is closed, it's best to treat Flute as Backcountry unless you have intel from the patrollers.

Whistler has made me a patient person... It always delivers but you have to expect to wait. Would love to get to fernie this season
love these videos! My son works at Creek Side Market and I never get any videos from him. If you go in look for a guy name Isaac and take him skiing
I'll say hi to Isaac if I see him!
@@riseandalpine he works in the meat department 6"3 blonde guy
You should go to Mt. Washington and make a video!
I'd love to pop over to the Island this season. Any snow over there yet?
@@riseandalpine not much yet, but it's coming.
Whistler lines are absolutely absurd. They got to start capping tickets or something. Snow looks pretty sick.
It's all about money unfortunately
Can’t stop the revenue, bro
In this case it was because of chair icing, but it's always crowded on a pow day up there
Applying for my Canada working holiday visa as we speak!!
Unreal!!! Let us know how it goes.
12:04blavk comb side, also 10:42 ? 🙏
Almost 20k subscribers let’s goooo
Can't believe it! Thank you for all the support.
yoo me and my friend are in this vidd
Celeb cameo!!
Great video again. How do you deal with these lines? You just get in line for one or two hours? I'll be there in a month. hopefully it keeps snowing.
There's no rhyme or reason to dealing with lines. If the snow is great, it's usually worth the wait. Most times they move fairly fast!
Sweet video per usual. Am I the only one who prefers the head cam to the chest cam?
Thanks Andrew! Always love hearing peoples opinion on the angles. I try and shake it up a little bit or just use the footage from the one that get's less covered in snow LOL. Head cam captures speed less but shows the terrain better I find
@@riseandalpine yeah for sure, that makes sense. What you’re doing is working the videos are awesome! Just one persons take.
Were you at whistler for the New Years celebration?
I was skiing NYE but went home for the evening
Is that powder or wet coast cement?
This was leaning towards Wet Coast pow but still super fun, always thankful for big skis.
looks amazing!
what skiis are you using?
Such a blast of a day. I'm riding on the Nordica Enforcer 115 Free's
Any idea what time you got your first run in???
The first real run on Harmony was like 1:45pm hahaha
Sheeeeeeeeesh!! You MUST have some sort of seasons pass!@@riseandalpine
World be Free
its a weird feeling watching the POV from so low on your body
The chest always makes it look like I'm sitting back. I like how the snow sprays it and the sounds, but definitely distorts it a little bit
Why does the lift close at 2:30 pm?
Because it takes the patrol a long time to do a patrol sweep. The lower parts of the mountain close a little later.
@@riseandalpine Kinda makes sense but isnt there still enough time and daylight after 4:30 pm?
Where's the Liquid Courage?!?!?!?!
It was one of those pressed record but actually pressed (unrecord) scenarios LOL. I promise I wasn't without my trusty sauce sidekick.
which zone is that at the beginning?
Hike up pikas traverse cat track from the top of green chair and drop in and ski towards harmony chair
^What he said!
Those don't look like the 104 Free
I like windblown unless it gets too grippy..
What kind of mittens do you have and is their sizing accurate?
These are the 115 free
Mittens are hestra XL Fall line mittens (not sure if they're true to hand size, don't really know what hand size is)
@@riseandalpine I thought your other pair were 110s?
I will look up those Mittens.. Thank you
Too bad it's "vile" resorts!
How many privately owned mountains are actually still left? :(
I don't think this guy knows deep snow if he sees it. That's not even close to being a powder day
You're right! It's hard to go deep when you're only working with 3 inches.
ANOTHER VAIL FAIL !!!!!!
LOL
Sick video. Quick Q for ya, had flute been avy controlled at that time? If they open symphony does flute always have to be cleared first?
Hey! If Symphony is open typically Flute is cleared, However, its always best to use caution and ask a patroller if you're unsure.
