15:40 So according to Essex police it's a hate crime when someone is nasty to a photographer because that is who they are. So if someone tries to hit a photographer or damage the camera or call the photographer horrible names then they have committed a criminal offence - according to Essex police. Pity it's the police themselves who commit this hate crime. Which is not really a crime, it's a mitigating factor in an actual crime.
Freedoms include the freedom to hate. There should not be any breach into a person's thoughts and expressions as long as no harm (caused by harassment) is done. Criminalising hate is anti freedom. The very criminalisation of it implies control of thought. Regardless of the desecration of freedom, It also should be legal to hate in order to not block the expulsion of hate in hateful circumstances. Hate should be dealt with voluntary therapy (involuntary worsen the case), and not punishment, or otherwise it gets much worse. Hate cannot affect people significantly unless it is inside a harassment act, which has protective laws against it. The inability to withstand hateful interaction for a brief or one time incident is also something that should be dealt in Therapy, and not in police protection. There is a balance Under freedom of speech and freedom of movement, where one has the choice to be awful in public, and the other has the freedom to move away from that awfulness. And ofcourse this is excluding all debates of what constitutes as hateful, which varies from one individual to another. Hate crime is a dangerous and reckless attempt to try to control social behaviour even when it is not harassing or causing noticeable public disorder. With the potential of having the wrong people deciding what is hate, by successive manipulation over time it can become a country which dictates thought and behaviour with an iron fist, and those who will dissent this tyranny will ofcourse be regarded as hateful.
@@TheSadButMadLad worth having is subjective. The point is that it is unstable, and is attached to what is defined as hateful ect which can change and can be so narrow according to a society/individual that it becomes the opposite of freedom exactly. The implication of hate crime can mean that reckless or evil forces can drag this term into total erosion of freedoms. And that is significantly different than not worth having... That is a situation which most would do alot to avoid, sometimes at all cost
