I am 45 and only realized recently how much Dave influenced my drumming as I was growing up. It sounds a bit weird but that is because I have recently been diagnosed with a disorder that explains everything.
In a sense listening to Dave again is bringing out the old me again and not the person I have become who is wearing a mask the whole time to try and fit into what is normal to everyone else.
I am so glad to hear that we have the same hero since more or less the same time. Just shows you, music speaks to the soul and no barrier can stop it... ✌❤😊

Just common knowledge, Dave is really the driver of the early success of PJ!!! He’s shaped and motivated SO many (successful) drummers! He’s a legend and should always be thought of as such! But his career is not behind him, video proof right here!

Dude Right?! His Hi-Hat 32 second notes on Daughter really elevated the song's interest. Almost Everything he did on the drums added appeal to the songs he was on (Jack disappointed me, Dave was a difficult act to follow for sure). Dave followed what the guys we playing and created off that. He was totally in sync with them and it's what helped make them a Great Band. --Jason ✌🏻&❤

It's funny that your boy Cameron hasn't produced anything of note with Pearl Jam after two decades. They haven't had a platinum record since Yield, and Gigaton didn't even hit gold. Abbruzzese was with them during their peak period, played on their #2 and #3 most iconic and best-selling albums, and helped establish them as a live act on the Ten tour. Like they say, it's not the quantity but the quality that matters.

@@richharris9489 Exactly! I can never understand why so many people are obsessed with this guy! He’s a great drummer but he really didn’t add a whole lot that the other drummers they had couldn’t, and Vedder thought his style was just too busy and never fit Pearl Jam. Plus on numerous occasions he was just kind of an asshole to the band…. Great drummer, just didn’t fit the sound. All he added was a million ghost notes and cymbal crashes. He never kept it simple in order to serve the song

Definitely one of those songs that needed Dave's touch to make it a masterpiece.. The arrangements and time is perfect..and the finesse is over the top..f**kin locomotive groove.. David's a player I could just sit there and watch all freakin day..hahah.. Definitely has been my inspiration piece early into the nineties through present, made me a better drummer that I am today...Thank you Dave...😎🤟
