Hawaii - Big Island lava flow

  • Lava flowing into the ocean, creating new land. The sort of twinkling sound you hear is the waves retreating from the black sand. In person it sounded like running your hand through a bowl full of seashells. We sat there for a few hours watching the lava and listening to the sounds of the waves and the lava crackling. Recorded on the Big Island of Hawaii on May 2, 2010 using a Flip Video camcorder.

Two forces of nature meet. What an amazing sight.

You were so lucky to see this. This is why we are alive, to see and enjoy sights like this. Not to spend 10 hours a day at a desk, doing boring things for money and trying to convince ourselves how important all that shit is.
