    The Republicans in the house had an oppertunity to pass comprehensive border policy and aide packages and they refused to do it. They are not serious politicians. They dont want to govern. It is very frustrating.

      I know right? What makes it so frustrating is that it's not even a disagreement about what policy is better. It's just a pure nihilistic power struggle and cowardly obedience to Trump.

    Regarding the situation in the U.S. Congress, I want to point out a significant and dangerous mistake on the part of many reporters and media personalities (especially those from outside the U.S.). It is absolutely a mistake to say that Republican opposition to aiding Ukraine has anything to do with the situation on the Southern border. While that is the excuse they have been giving, it is just a distraction. A border bill was negotiated by Senate Republicans that would have provided the most significant increase to border security since the '80's, security provisions they were unable to pass during Trump's term. Those provisions were bundled with aid to Ukraine and Israel. The Senate approved the bill, and it would most likely have passed in the house, except for a phone call from Donald Trump. The fact is that Trump and the MAGA wing absolutely own the modern Republican party, and they were able to squash that bill. This was for two reasons. Firstly, Trump doesn't want the border issue fixed because he intends to campaign on it. Secondly, Trump opposed aid to Ukraine. He, and his closest and loudest supporters, have been very clear about opposing any aid to Ukraine of any kind, military, financial, humanitarian, etc. Furthermore, they have shown significant favoritism towards Putin and his regime. Trump himself invited him to invade Europe not too long ago. Again, it is a dangerous fallacy to take the U.S. Republicans at their word on ANYTHING at this point. Reporters, if they intend to be seen as serious, should avoid falling for this.

    This is NOT the beginning of WWIII.
    (I asked Grok on X)
    This is finishing WWII. (put on pause)
    "World War III is a hypothetical conflict that would involve many of the world's major military powers. It is often depicted as a global war with widespread destruction and loss of life. While it is difficult to predict the exact nature of such a conflict, it is likely that it would involve the use of advanced weaponry, including nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons.
    In terms of the scale and scope of the conflict, it would likely involve multiple theaters of war, with fighting taking place on land, sea, and air. The use of cyber warfare and other forms of technology would also be a major component of the conflict."

    • @MadDog-1961
      @MadDog-1961 Před 2 měsíci

      "The causes of World War III could be varied, but some potential triggers could include territorial disputes, resource competition, or ideological differences. The conflict could also be driven by a desire for global dominance or the need to protect national interests.
      In terms of the impact of the war, it would likely result in significant loss of life, destruction of infrastructure, and long-term environmental damage. The global economy would also be severely impacted, with trade and commerce disrupted and financial markets in turmoil.
      Overall, World War III would be a devastating conflict with far-reaching consequences for humanity and the planet. It is a scenario that we must strive to avoid at all costs."

      Some people may argue that the West has used Ukraine as a pawn in its geopolitical struggle with Russia, with the goal of expanding its influence and promoting its own interests. This view may see Ukraine's sacrifices as being made in the service of Western capitalism.
      However, others may argue that the West has provided significant support to Ukraine, including financial assistance, military aid, and diplomatic backing. They might argue that the sacrifices made by Ukraine are necessary for its own security and stability, and that the country is pursuing its own path towards democracy and economic development.
      Ultimately, the question of when Ukraine will "learn" is a matter of opinion and depends on one's perspective on the situation.
