Also Kevin has so much more money than Michael. Them factory diamonds and platinum Rolex’s and all the other amazing watches he has are a great addition to any collection.

His difference with Kevin is not about money, it's a taste. Kevin showed many various pieces - Grand Seiko, micro brands, FBJourne, JLK, while Michael only knows about icy AP and Rolex.

The guy started out as a dishwasher. He has a lot of perspectives and while he has very expensive taste, he has an appreciation for quality pieces at all price points.
I love this series. Love the g-shock mixed into the lot, love the fact that he’s so into watches and passionate about them but may not follow trends because he buys what he likes. Love it.
It's nice to see Michael expanding his collection to include more classic, conservative timepieces. The Platinum Daytona and Stainless Steel with the Panda dial are absolutely gorgeous.

Great video as always, gents! So, a chapter ring is a scale printed on the inside of the watch around the periphery of the dial (could be a tachymeter or telemetry scale, countdown markings, etc). An inner bezel is typically the “inside” version of an external rotating dive bezel. Inner bezels are normally controlled with a second crown to turn the bezel for timing your dive. They were very popular in 70s style compressor case dive watches.

When I compare this video to the first watch collection video, it seems like Michael doesn't explain the watches so much in detail as in the first one. In the first videos he seemed very passionate about his watches, but in this video he just talked briefly about them like he was in a hurry or something. I do find it cool to see Adam being so educated on watches, seems like he learned a lot from his friend!
He's getting bored! As one gets older, you gotta see what's important in life and aside from investment as he calls them, I am sure there are more important things in life. Such as his dog!

The chapter ring is there to have the seconds or minutes markers, while the inner bezel could feature a complication, like a diver's bezel, or a GMT one. Maybe this one is a Rahaut under the chapter ring.

Beautiful collection Michael, your watch taste has def matured to an amazing caliber of heavy hitters, and yes I do believe at this point many watches are investments if you buy the right selection. As you said they have out performed mostly everything, and you can still enjoy them at the same time, not to many safe havens like that. Wear them in great health.

Michael i normally watch the whole video video but this one i had to keep forwarding till it got to the patek, funnily enough thats the exact watch ive been lookin at getting for the past few months. Im normally into chains and not straps but that time piece is pure class 👌
Ive coudnt be more happy for you, as I share the joy of owning such pieces myself. The emotional rush of getting them on your wrist is indescribable, its just pure joy. My SOTC, Daytona, The Explorer 2, Yacht Master, Black Bay 58, and my AP is on the way. So I could definitely feel your joy. (ps all mine are Pagani Design of cos)

I know very little about Michael, other than what I've learned from this channel, but what a marvelous person that he should have the means to purchase watches that exceeds what anyone I have ever know has paid for a home and yet can still be genuinely appreciative of at $99.00 G-shock. Fantastic.

The chapter ring is the circular ring on a clock or watch dial on which the minutes (and sometimes the hours) are engraved, attached, or painted. In the Rolex context, it means a painted circular ring that “connects” to the seconds and minutes marker which creates a full circle on the outer edge of the dial.

The Patek is the only one that looks beautiful in every way to me, and I suspect PM also feels the same way, it's the watch he was a little defensive over. It's in a completely different class. The other watches look flawed in some way, design, finish, strap, ect.
Nah, Adam is right. Patek is a more traditional watch that I personally associate with like someone in a Great Gatsby movie lmao , or like a formal/dress watch. Compare that to an AP RO with it's eye-catching bracelet, sharp edges, the finishing, etc. it's just another level. You can wear it in any occasion and it gives more of a younger sporty vibe while maintaining elegance and not like you're wearing a submariner either lol
The only Patek I think is nice is a simple 5711, however I'm totally not a fan of the 5980, 5990, or any other model like the moon phase 5712 and 5726 or esp aquanaut is just cringe and plain ugly
Not hating but I think most people just have herd mentality, they see Manchester United win the PL they become hardcore supporters, next season it's Man City they switch, follow the best players around team hopping and same with watches cars anything lol. For example I prefer a G63 over a Cullinan, unless you want to take a girl out and have her do leaning thot head selfies with stars in the roof and make captions on instagram you might prefer the latter lol. Same with patek it's some rap lyrics younger people tend to like it for and the fact it's trading at a larger premium smh (psychology)
If you really think about it the 15500OR and 5711R are roughly the same retail price, like identical. If you ask anyone objectively which is a more aesthetically pleasing watch, most would agree it's the former. And I'm talking about 30s age group in major cities as the average demographic that these brands are nowadays catering to. Not Warren Buffet's neighbour in Nebraska.
However Michael is an older man who probably truly likes Patek and it might fit his tastes, it actually looks good on him. His AP collection esp the offshores didn't fit him that well. I'm referring to those other cases. Just look at rapper Offset wearing a 5980 and talking about it in every single one of his songs. It's just so not fitting. Compare that with Travis Scott's skeleton frosted AP. However Offset (or maybe Quavo I think it was) has a nice 5711 with blue sapphires that is pure boss.

U can see the difference on the GMT and the sub just by the bezel cus the GMT has a full 24h printed and the sub has 0-60 to time how much u have left in ur tank for diving. Also the subs bezel only turns one way (counter clockwise) and the GMT can turn both ways. Also the subs doesn’t come with a split color bezel :)

The chapter ring is the multi color ring inside your glass. It can be any material/ color. It’s the ring in between the crystal and the movement. With out the chapter ring the movement will bang against the glass. Some movements are secured to the case with screws. Like adams seikos would just bang around between the case back and crystal without the chapter ring inserted

I have had crypto for many, many years and seen lots of bubbles in this space.. it will explode once again and continue after that too.. disrupting the monetary system. If you believe it is in a bubble and not coming back then you need to educate yourself 😄

Blockchain/crypto is the internet of value, few grasp how large this will become... How long has the "internet" bubble lasted? Who would even formate that question, it's a weird question. The blockchain/crypto "bubble" is a lifechanging, lifelong opportunity, volatility is your *friend*

That's probably true if you can buy any Rolex/Patek/AP you want at your AD. But unlike Michael, most people haven't spent (and cannot afford to spend) the $$$$$ he has at an AD to actually get a watch. Even if you just want a watch to wear - you need to have previous spend history, and a good relationship with your AD. Otherwise you are stuck paying 40k for a 13k Daytona or 20k for 6k OP. I cannot even image spending 22-24k for BLNR GMT preowned - that's insane!

I enjoy working on old watches and making them tick again. I just bought a clean 1954 Bulova. I like the brand. Also picked up a Rolls Royce Electra. Probably no affiliation but it looked nice. One day maybe I can afford to buy a Jacob watch.

The AD at Rodeo drive got me on the waitlist a few weeks ago for the Rolex 41 OP Blue but I also got a blinged out Datejust from a very reputed jeweler on Rodeo Drive. It's not giving me the pleasure I hoped it would. I'm gonna sell it to one of my friends who loves bling and wait for a call from Gearys. Also waiting on a call from Bhindi for another 41 Blue Datejust with diamond markers. Its not only about getting the watches at retail price, the fact that as an under 30 beginner collector, the experience of getting your watches from an AD means a lot. Every time you look at it, it reminds you of all the whole experience.
I'm not looking to flip or anything, I just want a OP, a Datejust, a Sub and after a few years a Day Date for my own collection.
